Okay, before we begin, let's just be clear that this is about incest in books, anime, manga, etc. Not real life. That's a different can of worms all together.
That said, how do you feel about relationships between cousins/brothers and sister/etc in fiction (for example, Neji x Hinata)? Does it gross you out? Is it okay to you if they are just distant relatives, like second cousins? Are you cool with anything, including brother x sister, mother x son, father x daughter and what-not? This sort of thing comes up from time to time, and I want to know what you guys think.

Personally, I'm fine with just about anything except for parents x children. That's just a little too much, even for me. No Oedipus, plzkthnx. Cousins, siblings, twins, just about anything else is fair game for me. That doesn't mean I like every incest couple, just that I'm open to it. The way I see things is that the big reason why incest in taboo is because it can cause birth defects. But that's in reality. In fiction, there are no real-life consequences, so nobody gets hurt, and if nobody gets hurt, I can't see the harm in it. 3nodding

I. Hate. Incest. It feels so wrong, so immoral. Siblings, cousins, parent and child, it doesn't matter. We're not supposed to love our family in a romantic way. I'm sometimes open to step-siblings, and on the very rare occasion half-siblings, but most of it makes me feel uncomfortable. This also makes it hard for me to support a couple that strike me as a brother/sister relationship.

I have to say, incest is only okay if they don't have the same birth parents. You know, kind of like a childXtheir adopted brother/sister.
