heheh yea i do see a resemblence there not only by picture but also in the sense that jim was basically like the jesus of rock as well

when jim grew a beard, he was trying to portray the hatred of his image, he didn't wanna be known as Jim the Rockstar, he wanted to be Jim the Poet, and for him, growing a beard was to escape that dreaded idealistic fantasy that so many Americans had back then.

thats something that is perobably argued about a lot, but as far as i know he wanted to be out there to get away from so many ppl knowing who he was and all that

He DID mention that he wanted to be buried there (eerily, it was like a week before he died!).
But, I think he went there because Pamela was there. She had gone there before he did, and then Jim went. I know he was getting tired of the rock-star lifestyle, and his fame, but when he was in france, he still partied. I'm pretty he enjoyed france because there was booze down every street corner.
He wanted to be a poet, and I'm sure France was like, the best place for him. He didn't get much done in France, though. He didn't write much, or do much besides drugs and get wasted.
So, maybe he did go to France to die? *conspiricy theroy!*
who knows!!

France is known for it's absynth, and it's probably what caused Jim's heart to fail.
It's also why Van Gogh cut his ear off.
I've had a few absynth nights in my time. The first night I drank a little bottle to myself and felt nothing. I had one toke of a spliff and that was it, I was gone for the whole night - and most of the next day
the 2nd night was the first time I went to see Tool. I don't remember a ******** thing about that night
The 3rd night was New Years eve just gone. I had 6 shots and passed out between 10pm and 3am.
The 4th night was my 2nd Tool gig, just gone. Everyone was cool with chillin and there was no pit, until me and my absynth fueled friends came along and pissed everyone off. I also died in the pit that night.
