Does anyone else do these for basics? On both hands, all four positions. [Rifle - barrel, trigger, sabre - blade, hilt?] Seriously, these things have made blood squeeze from my pores. T.T And my wrists are all permanently bruised 'cause of them.
Anyone have any tips to -not- kill your wrists by these?

I don't know sabre backhands, sorry on that. But it took me forever to get rifle backhands... and yes we do them like nobody's business.
Right hand-neck and left hand -barrel right? That is what we do anyways... Here is what I did to get them.
First I started out tossing them up alittle and making them really lofty so I could get the catch. After that, I just did them slow. And worked up from there.
Tips: make sure you don't throw them up, keep them low, don't use your shoulder, only your wrist, pull them in to you, don't push them away, and don't be sacred of them. Just go for it, and practice alot... They will cause alot of pain, but hey, you will work it out. Good luck!

Oh, I absolutely love backhands! They're my favorite rifle basic <3

Well, the advice I was going to give you is basically what from beneath you... said, so, um, do that.

From my own instructors advice: keep your arm as straight as you can and make them tight.

do any of you guys do them on angles, like the same postions, but leaning the nose away from you, almost flat, but just not quite?

but i have no idea what yall are talkin about!
anyone want to explain... video or something? o.O?
cuz if i really dont know it... i'd love to learn it.
(competition within the guard, ya know? anything i know that the other girl trying out for captain doesnt just makes me look better!)

Well, I got thme down. =D But, they're taking away rifle. And putting me on sabre. D= I have NEVER spun sabre before.
