“HE WILL NEVER BE MY FATHER” shouted Aden as she went up to her room. Her mother had decided to marry another man after her father had died just a year before. No one could ever take the place of Aden’s father in her heart. She still missed him terribly and would never like anyone take his place. Aden did not like this guy he was military like her father was but he thought he could boss her around. He was so strict it was like he never stopped being a drill sergeant. They did not have any of the same interests and he did not like Aden’s friends at all. Well, she hated him, and he could never get rid of her friends. She would just have to make his life horrible. But he has threatened to send her to boarding school. What should she do? She slammed the door and fell onto her bed. Her bright green eyes were full of anger and sadness.

Cade Ryan threw her lamp against the wall," NO!!!" she screamed.. tears sliding down her tan cheaks. Cade leaned her back against the wall and slowly slid down. In one loud sob she slowly rested her head on her knees and took in a breath. Her Mother had just died of brain cancer only minutes ago.. and she was just told nothing could have been done.. but Cade wasnt stupid.. she knew her father didnt have the money to pay for the life-saving surgery. Cade was a 17 year old Junior.. and acted way older than her age. Cade's black hair slid out of its twist. Cade slowly took out her lip ring and her nose ring, then twisted out her tounge ring. She set her jewlry on the counter of her bathroom as she slowly took off her necklaces and bracelets. Cade ran the shower cold, and slowly steped in.. fully clothed. Cade sat on the floor of the shower and stared at the water. Her black pants and shirt now plastered to her body. Cade's slim fingers traced the outline of the tatoo on her neck... it was an women staring into the moonlight through the rain at a grave sight. At the bottem it said,'Only then did I know that they had taken you back from me..' this tatoo was made for her late boyfriend Jacob.. who had been murdered. Cade slowly turned off the water and sat in the shower... tears streaming down her cheaks.. she couldnt take this anymore, she needed out.. and now...

Aden buried her head in her pillow. She looked at her arms, and there were cuts on them. She had been cutting herself lately trying to get rid of the pain she had been feeling. But she would rather feel pain then nothing at all. She got up and pulled her knife out of her pocket. She flicked the knife open, and looked at her arm. No one would really notice she had many cuts from her wrecking her skateboard. She cut her left arm and watched it bleed. Soon it started to stop and Aden put up the pocket knife. She sat in the corner she needed someone that she could trust. She pulled out her cell phone and dailed Cade's number. She moved her short blonde hair out of her face, as she sat and waited. She could only feel pain these days and it was not normal pain it was like the pain of something she could never fix.

Cade answered her phone slowly, her voice cracking with a sob," Oh Aiden!!" she cried, as she told her about her mother.

"I'm so sorry Cade..."her voice trailed off you tell something bothering her. The blood trickled down her arm, as if it was the only thing reminding her that she alive. She glanced at a picture of her father and held back tears as she tried to help Cade.

Cade sniffed and stood up," Aiden.. you are my only friend.. and i love you.." she said through hot tears. She Smiled and whispered,"Meet me at OUR place.." she said.. after she hung up, their place was a cave about 5 miles in the woods with a shallow river and a large water fall pouring into crystal clear water. The cave had meen used by Cade's ancestors hundreds of years ago in native rituals.. they called it One Eye.. because there was a hole in the top.. about a foot in diamiter.. that shone onto the sand covered floor below.. you had to close one eye to look at it. The whole cave was granate.. and about 30 foot wide and deep.
{ Picture a LARGE slab of granate in avery small hillside, dence forest behind it, vines, moss and other plants growing on top.. two large bolders on both sides holding it up at an angle. infront of it, smooth rocks on the riverbed...A large waterfall breaking the surface of the crystal clear water.. sending a mist across the placid area...

"Ok"replied Aden hanging up. She quickly grabbed her backpack and her skateboard. She would have to walk once she got to the forest but until then she would ride. She heard the door close down stairs, great it was going to be her step-father because it was to earlier for her mother to be home. Aden sighed and walked downstairs. She walked toward the door. "Where do you think your going"asked her step-father from behind her. "Out" replied Aden "No your not" he glared at her. She smiled slightly and put her hand on the door knob and turned it. She walked outside and slammed the door. He tried to go after her but Aden was almost all the way door the street on her skateboard.

CAde sat on the rocks, her toes in the water.. she had always loved this place.. her father had shown it to her when she was younger.

Aden came upon the cave after walking in the forest for alittle while. She smiled slightly when she saw Cade but it was not the same old Aden something was different, very different. Aden had on her arm warmers that her dad bought her they were like the ones the hardy brothers wore. Aden just sat down not making eye contact she had been that way ever since her father died. Sure some people say by now she should have gotten over it, btu all she felt inside was heart ache. She missed him terribly, she loved him to death and she still remembered the day that the two men came in dressed in full dress uniform. They looked her in the eyes and the words I'm sorry.... were the only thing she heard before she collasped on the ground crying. Both of the soliders she knew them they had been her dad's friends. One of them held her in his arms as she sat there and cried. As the other went into house and told her mother. That same day Aden started to hate her mother, she did not even cry when she was told her husband had died, she seemed almost refelived. She sat quietly looking at the ground, she knew what Cade was going through but she was scared to say anything for she knew she would break out in tears.

Cade didnt say a word.. all she did was wrap her friend in a tight hug,"If only we live in a Midsummer Nights Dream.." she whispered.. thinking of the play written by Shakespear around 1595."I l-love you Aden.. and you know it.." she whispered.. her voice cracking...

"If only live was like a book that we could re-write at anything"whispered Aden. "I love you Cade". She hugged her friend her eyes had loss that hardness that had happened from her holding back her emotions.

Cade laughed and stood up, the cool air from the cave was getting to her. "C'mon.. wanna go to the falls?" she asked, stretching. SHe fiddled with her lip ring for a second before looking down at her friend, her hand stretched in an offering.
