Most people know what Baptism is. When you get saved the second step is to get baptized. You get dunked under water to symbolize being reborn. Well my friend brough this question up. [She's not allowed to get baptised] To go to heaven, do you need to be Baptised? or just saved? there are some kids out there that can't be baptismed because of there un-chirsitan parents. So can they still get to Heaven?

It doesn't say in the bible that it is required to get into heaven. Here is an example: You get married, and you get the ring put on your finger. If you take the ring off, are you still married? of course you are. It's just symbolism.

Well, there are some churches who say you must get baptisted to go, but to some others its optional.

For my Church, this is how it works. I pray to God and ask Christ into your heart and ask for forgivness and you change the way you live life. Thats getting saved. but you have to mean it with your full heart. so now your name is wrote in the book of Life. but this doesn't mean you'll get tons of riches either. you must obey the laws of God the best you can and spread the good news. to be baptised, is to show God that you mean it. but thats doesn't mean you do have access to heaven because the World prevents it. but this also doesn't mean they can't go and get baptised when they are 18. There is a verse and if i find it i'll post it but is states that we has born again christians must obey the Law of Men unless that Law goes against the Law of God. If your friend really want to get baptized, then in my opinion i think that they could do that when they turn 18. then they would be an adult and can make their own decisions.
but as for going to heaven, baptisum isn't required, it just shows God how commited you are to Him. God Loves it when you do it.

(sorry for my spelling, lol)

No baptism is not necessary, but when you are covered with the Holy One's blood and baptised in the spirit then yes. You have to be cleaned on the inside to go to heaven.

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a man you must be born again of the WATER and the SPIRIT, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." John 3:5

"Repent, and be BAPTIZED (water) every one of you in the name of JESUS CHRIST for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the HOLY GHOST." Acts 2:38.

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy He saved us, by the washing and regeneration (water) and the renewing of the Holy Ghost (spirit).

Jesus reaffirmed in John 3:7 " Marvel not that YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN."

Following the initial outpouring of the God' Spirit and the ministry of Peter at Pentecost, the Bible states, "They that gladly received his word were BAPTIZED: and the same day there were added unto them (120 Disciples) about three thousand souls.

Baptism of the water and of the spirit is key to seeing the kingdom of God and it is not optional for all who were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ were born again with fire and spirit. Read the New Testament, especially Acts and Corinthians. You will find that it is a commandment of God to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and the receiving of the Holy Ghost. You become one with the lord Jesus Christ, part of the bride of Jesus Christ, his church.

Read what I wrote below and then look it up in the bible yourself. It is a COMMANDMENT of God to be baptized in the WATER and the SPIRIT.

Get into the bible and read Acts, especially 2:38 and John 3:5. Its a commandment, and you really need to understand that.

Also, the bible says baptism has replaced circumcision (Col 2:11-12). If this is true, which it is, since the bible is the infallible word of God, then baptism must be necessary for salvation. The Jews believed that circumcision was a sign of being one of the chosen people, baptism works the same way, except the it leaves an indelible, or unremovable, mark on the soul. Since the two ancient traditions are linked, and Christianity is the continuation of God's plan first found in Judaism, then Baptism must be necessary for salvation.

This isn't to say of course that all the people that aren't baptized are hell-bound, I mean, would Jesus cut all of the babies who were aborted out of their share of heaven. Surely not! Even he said "Let the children come to me; do not prevent them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these" (Mk 10:14). The only person who can tell where people are going to spend the rest of eternity, is God.

I know for a fact that the Catholic church accepts other forms of baptism if people are unable to obtain the sanctifying, or saving, grace administered in the act. These include the baptism of blood, in which someone dies (becomes a martyr) for the belief of Jesus Christ without being actually and physically baptized. Also included is the baptism of desire in which a person who has a contrite wish and desire to be baptized dies before actually going through the ceremony.

You just have to be baptized in spirit to go to Heaven (accept Christ as ur Saviour)

I think Jesus said something like this to John once: "You baptize with water, I baptize with the spirit"

Being baptized in water is just a public announcement to the church that you have made your decision to follow Christ. What matters is what happened inside. Baptizing with water won't get you in or out of Heaven, it's just symbolic. domokun

also John 3:6 says: Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.

When you die, it's your spirit that goes somewhere, not your earthly body. To save your spirit, be baptized in spirit. 3nodding
