I would love just to get paid watching the sky, but I've been doing other stuff for so long I don't think I could get my foot in the door now. Hell, I'd do it for free if I had the time.

Hm, I'd like to be one.... Yes, it'd be really nice to get paid to study the skies. I'm just fine being a backyard astronomer though.

yeah i would too. i was thinking that was going to become an astronomer for some time but recently changed my mind.

It would be great to do something like that for a career.. not sure astronomers make much money though.

I thought really seriously about becomming an astronomer. However I don't think I could continuously bend my mind around the things I would need to to be good Astronomer. As a result I'll stick to being a backyard astronomer. ^.^

The beauty of astrophysics is that it was the astrophysicists who invented calculus in order to perform necessary functions to obtain new discoveries about the relationships between one object in space and another.

For many years I was considering astronomy as my field of study... but.. I had to be practical... so I ended up as a CS crying

I'd like to get into a feild having something to do with astronomy, but I'm pretty bad at math and most astronomy majors come with a minor in physics and I know I would have to get better at math to get into a physics class.
