I was alone that night. I remember it so perfectly it's almost scary, how it's burrowed into my brain, that memory. It was storming, quite fierce. I was sound asleep untill I heard a thunderbolt quite too close to my window to be natural. I looked out to see two sillouettes fighting. I recognized one. The other was a monstrous figure. Lightning flashed again. Dad was bleeding. He never stood a chance in his current state. Just earlier that day he had been shot by a bullet that would've killed a middle class demon instantly. But he was half devil, as was I. We never could figure out why though. It all ended with a thunderflash. I saw my dad ran through with his own sword, and whatever did it was gone by the next flash. I ran outside to see if he was ok. The rain, wind, and everything else around me was silent. All I could hear was my heartbeat. When I reached dad, he had a pool of blood around him as red as his coat. He knew he was dying because he had removed his amulet. "Son, take this and my weapons. You are the only one that can protect them now." With that said, he passed. I grabbed his sword and guns and stood up. I didn't cry. Devils never cry. Now I had no one. Mom died when I was too young to remember. She didn't stand a chance. Dad regretted that day. He was out of town on a mission, and mom was watering her garden. He came back two hours later to find me asleep, and my mom dead, lying on the ground.

For two months I wandered aimlessly, following reports of strange deaths. I finally got to a deserted city, with one resident. He would be my only "salvation" for the next three years.

Name: Sparda
Age: 19
Race: 1/2 Devil
Weapons: Rebellion, Ebony, Ivory
Special Items: Father's Amulet
Appearance: Young Dante
Bio: See Above
Personality: Dark and Cold

For three years, that one man taught me everything he knew. He turned out to be my Father's brother, my Uncle. I knew who he was when I saw Yamato. I was going to try to fight my way out, but he convinced me otherwise. I don't know what it was, but for some reason, I stayed willingly. He slowly twisted me to be an image of himself, sort of. I still look like my father, but there's no trace of the young boy in me anymore. I have only one mission. That is to survive. But I feel something else is going to happen. Something greater than what I can understand right now. I haven't shown him my amulet, and for good reason. I'm going to escape tonight and find out what is going on.

(So, writing in first person? Fun. You need a chick, ya know? razz )

I had come from a city, but the only city of it's type. It had been the city where demons who had their own will could go. My mother, these demons and the few humans who lived in those walls, they had been planning a rebellion against the Demon King, once and for all. We had heard of the Dark Knight Sparda, and his son Dante. We figured, if one powerful demon or half
demon could overthrow the Demon King, then many powerful demons could keep him down.

My mother, Artemis, was the one who arranged it. I was born to her and her human husband before it was all torn apart. I was training to fight in this rebellion. At least, until someone overthrew it all. How they could do so, alone, I do not know. What I do know is that I hunt a demon who carries a katana to avenge all I've known.

Name: Diana Artemis
Age: 18
Half demon
Weapons: Twin kodachi, claws/nails
Special Item: None
Appearance: Gold eyes, long hair which is dark with purple highlights. 5'7"
Personality: Quiet, or sarcastic

(Just an intro)

(I only do first person when it's an intro.)
*pant pant* The young boy ran for as long as he could before he had to stop for a breather. "Damnit. Nowhere closer now than I was before. Maybe I was closer before than I am now." He stood up after a minute and continued running.

(Fine with me)

Diana made her way toward a deserted city. It reminded her a lot of home, the night of the attack. "The only thing missing is the spilled blood," she thought inwardly. But there was a strong being here, just like that night. At least one.

If they were the one who destroyed her home, she would be sure to get revenge, or fall trying. And if they weren't, she could possibly get their help.

It wasn't just a matter of revenge for her. It was practical. If the demon had killed her family and the whole resistance, why wouldn't they come after her next?

After a while walking and thinking, she found she was in the city itself. Which was bad. Her thoughts had distracted her. Even though she could have taken minor demons in that state, or even some higher class ones with a bit of effort, she would need to concentrate if she was going to fight the demon carrying the katana. Also, she was now hopelessly lost.

At the same time, she knew she needed to rest and probably eat. She hadn't done either for much longer than she wanted to think about. She found a place in an alley, out of the way, and took out some water and a protein bar. Not much, but it would do for now.

Sparda caught a whiff of a half blood. Greater Demon blood within whoever it was, but he was half Devil. Much more than the intruder would be able to handle. He continued towards the intruder, his curious nature slowly coming back towards him.

Diana stood up slowly, listening. She had sensed something coming nearer, so she searched out telepathically for their energy like Artemis had taught her. He - and she knew it was a he - was very powerful, but also a half demon. She decided to cloak her own power if they could sense hers. She was pretty fast, even if she wouldn't match him in strength. She moved to a corner, waiting...

The signature dimmed, but was still there. Sparda followed till he found a girl standing in a corner. "I suggest you leave, girl." His voice cold. "You're lucky it was I who found you."
(Is SHE in for a suprise.)

"Oh?..." Her eyes scanned him, taking in any minor details. She was used to similar tones from her mother's allies, but she didn't like being addressed as 'girl' by someone about the same age. So her next statement matched his tone, "If I leave... I'll only come back."

She put one hand up, as a sign of peace, and walked forward. "I'm not here to fight you. Go on with your own business, since you obviously don't want to play nice."

"Tch. Ignorance. I never said I wanted to "play," girl. Just be sure HE doesn't find you." Sparda turned heel and walked back the way he came. "I suggest you don't look for him either. I've seen you before. That means he's hurt you somehow. He'll only kill you along with me."
PostPosted: Thu Nov 15, 2007 10:31 pm

"It wasn't me he hurt..." she said, bitterly. "You don't even know why I'm here, boy-o. If you're afraid he'll kill you- whoever "he" is- then leave. Just make sure you're a good runner."

She didn't walk or run toward the other power source in the deserted city. She teleported away, though it only took her so far each time. She stopped again to rest, ate the last bit of her food, and drank some water.

At a faint sound behind her, she caught the scythe of a Pride jailer. "You've got to be kidding," she said standing up. "This won't even count as a warm up."

She stole the scythe, tossing it aside, before digging claws into her attacker. The jailer disintegrated into dust. No there were a few more around. At least now she could use her kodachis.

"Stupid Girl" he whispered to himself. "Doesn't even know what she's getting into. Hell, she probably doesn't even know where to find him. I can't even sense him and I know where he is." Sparda continued along, searching his inner self for something, untill he saw it. The picture of a woman, long discarded. In front of a shop. The red neon sign was long since broken and unreadable. "Why is this place so familiar?" Sparda picked up the picture and walked towards the door.

When the three jailers attacked, Diana jumped over them drawing her kodachis. She gave them a flurry of slashes with the double short swords, ending with her landing and them turning back into dirt. Behind the dust cloud, she saw more had come. Most of them were Sloth jailers and one Rage.

Diana knew that kodachi weren't exactly the best weapons for throwing, but she could compensate. She threw one and it hit the Rage hard enough to detonate it. Not before one of the Sloths had teleported behind her. The sand it spewed was an annoying sting that went away soon enough. She put the second kodachi through the thing's stomach and slashed upward. The jailer went air born for a second before Diana turned it into ribbons.

She went to get the thrown kodachi before moving on.

Sparda eard the explosion and knew the lesser demons had been released. Nelo must've thought that Sparda got confused and went the wrong direction. Then again, Sparda could probably be sensed from here.

It was relatively easy for a while after the first fight. However, Diana also realized two things: that both the guy she had run into and the guy she was looking for were moving. In fact, after each fight, the one she was looking for seemed to be in a completely new location. The second, related to this, was that she had no sense of direction here. She didn't know the city and couldn't decide on any land marks. She figured she might be near the middle, but that didn't help.

She wasn't getting tired, but this was annoying. She was being toyed with, and it reminded her of how a cat would trap its prey.

"You think you can escape me?"
"Hmph. I know I can't escape you. You just don't seem like the type of person to care."
"Well, don't we sound confident."
