 ~ Valentine X Mya ~Owners: Duelist of Pokemon Avid_RPer18 Setting: A lake in the mountains, late autumn, the air is crisp, most of the leaves have fallen from the trees. There is a cave nearby overlooking the lake. Its late afternoon - early evening, towards evening time maybe an early snowfall.

Valentine stood atop a large boulder at the side of the lake near the treeline of the mountain woodland that was scattered loosely across the area. His dark green eyes gazed thoughtfully at the fading golden sunlight reflecting off of the calm water's surface. There was a small, content smile present of his features. The cool wind gently blew his dark banded mane, the rustle of the fallen wind tossed leaves calmed him. The red striped cream looked to the sky. He took a deep breath and blew it into the air. His exhale formed visibly in the air in front of him before diffusing into nothing.

Mya stood near the lake shore below; head bent, she drank from the ice-cool waters as the silloettes of fish darted this way and that among the plants beneath the surface.
Ice had begun to form on the gold-brown grasses and the rocks that made up their home. As the setting sun dances on the icicles and the waters of the lake, She lifted her head and listened as the leaves rustled in the fall wind. She gave a content sigh and shook out an itch on her neck, cream and emerald-green scales reflecting the orange-gold sun.

Valentine spotted Mya by the lakeside. He smiled at the sight of his beloved and hopped down off of his rocky perch, his feet making a muffled thud as he landed on the ground. He sauntered over to her and affectionately touched the side of his muzzle to Mya's. "You're absolutely radiant this evening, love." The light frost made his steps crunch softly.
The seasons had nearly completed their changes. It was late in the autumn; the grey black trees almost completely devoid of leaves. Those leaves that still clung to their growing places were ablaze in red, oranges, golds, and browns.

The soft thud caught her attention; glancing over in the direction of the rock face, she smiled at the shadowy form approaching. The gray-black yielded to the suns' light, revealing her beloved in all of his glory. Smiling as his delicate touch, she hummed and licked the side of his muzzle.
"Thank you, love...but truly you are the radiant one on this fall evening?" The cool air made her breath visual as the the leaves stirred lightly at their feet.

Valentine snorted lightly and laughed. "Ah, nonsense. You flatter this ol' battle scarred brute." He returned her lick. The shadows of the bare trees grew long as the sun slipped beyond the western horizon. His tail swayed idly behind him and brushed against his mate's. "What say you to us hunting down something for dinner, Mya? We can take whatever we decide upon down together." He thrummed contentedly, waiting patiently for her answer.

Entwining her tail with his, Mya gently nuzzled into the hollow of her mates' throat. "Scarred you may be...but a brute, far from it!" Sighing, she watched as the sun dipped below the cedar trees in the distance, while the full moon appeared in the horizon. Stars began to wink to life, one by one.
"Dinner sounds wonderful, Valentine." Stepping back, she smiled and watched him with glittering eyes. "What are you proposing we go after?"

Valentine thought what would be good. Deer came to mind and his stomach answered with a low growl. He chuckled and shook his head at his own body's reaction to the thought of food. Apparently Valentine was a bit more hungry that he originally thought. He turned to Mya, a crooked smile on his face. "How's fresh venison tickle your fancy, my sweet?"
He sniffed the air to check the surrounding area for any ghost scents of a small group of deer that had moved into the area recently.

Deer, now that was a real treat during the winter months. Stomach rumbling at the thought of the sweet meat, she giggled and nodded at the dark-red male. "Venison does, actually. And I believe I saw that herd slip into the underbrush for the night just before sunset..." She smiled, eyes bright at the prospect of a hunt. "Shall we?"

Valentine smiled and stretched his muscles. He turned toward the treeline, his tail twitching in mild predatory excitement. He looked to Mya, his deep green orbs shining with his smile. "Well, then, we shall. What are we waiting for? Dinner to come to us?" He chuckled. "Race ya. First to find a deer gets first choice of meat. Up for it, love?"

Smiling lightly, Mya stepped up and playfully brushed up against her mate. Putting on a sad face, she looked at him, "Aw Valentine...Why would want to race someone like me?" She purred softly and licked him across the muzzle. "I couldn't possibly keep up with you...that is, unless I did this!"
With that said, she suddenly darted off into the underbrush.

Valentine blinked at getting licked on the muzzle and Mya darting ahead into the underbrush. He laughed warmly. "You sly fox!"
He trotted after her into the underbrush, chuckling at his beloved's antics. He wind felt cooler as he ran. The sky had darkened further to night's midnight blue, but the light of the full moon cast silvery light over the forest.

Hearing her mate break through the branches caused her to increase her own speed until she came across a large clearing. Skidding to a halt, the female ulaith quickly ducked to acoid being seen by a large male deer, who was keeping a watch just a few feet away.
Peeking through the brush, she made a mental note of the prey:
Several does, a few fawns, a few young males, and of course, the elder standing near Mya.

Valentine heard Mya's stop, so he slowed his chase. He stalked cautiously forward and crawled in along her side. He scanned the clearing, looking over the herd of deer. "Hmm...," He whispered. "Judging by the looks of things, you've disproved the saying 'Cheaters never prosper.'" He grinned to Mya and nuzzled her neck. "You get first choice. 'Grats." The dark cream ulaith hunkered lower behind the brush to hide his size. "Alright, love, which deer shall be dinner? Not the does, or fawns. I vote for one of the younger males. It's most likely that that big fella there is the father of those fawns..." His eyes narrowed slightly as he skimmed over the choices.

Raising an eyebrow at the quote, she playfully slapped him with her tail before returning to her scan of the herd. Finishing her investigation, she turned to her love and motioned towards an injured male near the back of the herd.
"It seems one of the males lost a fight with the elder; he may died once the colder days set in, so we may as well..." Trailing off, she watched as the dark cream ulaith shifted lower into hiding. Laying down next to him, she whispered: "If you can distract or knock out the large elder, i'll scare off the rest of the herd. That way, we can take out that male and scatter before they come to their senses."
