Intro
Just outside of Yamiyo sits a fairly well sized building just off the path and nestled in the trees of Yasha’s forest. It has a slight oriental feel to it though it has been modified quite a bit to blend into the area. The roof is made up of black ceramic tile that are now either cracked or missing entirely and the building itself appears to be made up of stones and concrete which are holding up the best out of everything. In front of the building, by the edge of the road, sits a fancy cast iron post with a sign that reads “Crimson Moon Tavern.” The words were done in crisp white lettering and placed on a black starry background with a crescent red moon.
Being shrouded by the trees the tavern looks eerily dark no matter what time of the day it is, and the sign gives a spooky creek in the wind. But sounds of laughter can be heard clearly from inside as patrons enjoy a drink or maybe a bite to eat. A sudden swell of courage draws you inside so one foot in front of the other and you soon find yourself at the door. The windows are blackened and dark, probably from a fire, and are impossible to see though so the only option is to open the door.
Just inside the large wooden doors the tavern seems to come alive though its not stocked with the most well intended people. Tables upon tables are littered with people as they talk and drink and enjoy the piano playing in the background. The rafters have large paper lanterns hanging from them all around the room and beyond a few lanterns on a table here and there seem to be the only light source. Near the back of the tavern is the bar were a crud looking woman stands cleaning glasses, handing out plate of food to the people sitting nearby, or barking orders to the waitresses on the floor.
The real secret to this tavern, however, lies just behind the bar, through a door, and down a long flight of stairs. For a moment it’s quiet, but further down the stairs and shouting can be heard. At the end of the stairs there is a room with seats and another bar were a pleasant young man stands bored having nothing to do at the moment. But this is not where the shouting is coming from. On the far end of the room there is another open doorway that over looks a large underground arena. The arena itself is caged in and people are standing everywhere yelling and screaming at the pokemon and their trainers as they battle. Pokemon are pushed to their limits and beyond as they are forced to battle and the people screaming and yelling are holding bets to a winner when the battle is over.
Season: Summer
The tavern itself stays fairly cool all year round being in the shade of the trees but nearer to the front its pretty warm during the hot months of summer. In the winter a large fireplace is lit to keep the place warm.
Rules:
Battling is allowed but only on the lower levels. Fighting in the upper tavern will land you a quick boot out by the hostess Terra. Terra the Terror they call her so watch out!
There are more secrets to this tavern than meet the eye, hidden doorways, and other rooms. But be careful, you may not like what you stumble upon.
This thread is open for anyone to join in so come on in a enjoy a drink or some food or maybe a battle if you can get Terra to let you through the door behind the bar ^_~
The lower tavern is well reinforced having been carved out of a cave that used to be there and can take quite a bit of damage without risk of a cave in, but lets not aim for destroying the place.
The Staff of the Crimson Moon Tavern
Terra: Hostess, bartender, and a gatekeeper to the underground arena beneath the tavern, Terra seems to do it all or likes to think she does. She and her husband own the tavern and while he tends to the arena down below Terra is much more interested in the happenings of her tavern. She could care less about her husband’s endeavors. She is also extremely bossy and very rude to her waiting staff, which has earned her the name Terra the Terror. Also when it comes to letting people downstairs she can be a bit picky. She won’t let just anyone down in the underground. If she thinks someone might be unfit for downstairs she’ll blow them off as nicely as she can manage.
Her physic is rather plump and she wears a dark blue almost black dress that would be best fitted for a witch with an apron to cover her front from the waist down. Brown hair with gray streaks is pulled back neatly into a bun at the back of her head and she constantly has a scowl on her face.
Ivan: He is Terra’s husband and while she manages the tavern upstairs he runs the underground arena. The way he makes his money is a fee to play in the arena and he also makes some bets himself. Sometimes on both sides at once to ensure he’ll come out on top. The winner in the arena is usually paid a sum of what Ivan makes in the end but not a very large sum. Ivan is a very greedy man when it comes to money.
Like his wife, Ivan is very plump but also very pale since he doesn’t see the sunlight much. He has a long white beard and long white hair except up top where he is obviously going bald. A comfy red robe like shirt is his favorite outfit, along with a pair of coal black pants and boots. The whole get up makes him look a lot like Santa Claus but he has a very serious look on his face at all times as he focuses on his money.
Todd: Todd is the son of Terra and Ivan and at best seems to be the total opposite of them both. He is very thin, almost frail, and always wears a smile on his face. Though he doesn’t like what his parents do he can’t help but be the good son and help in any way that he can, but his talents for running a business are very lacking so Ivan set up a bar in the lobby area downstairs for Todd to run. So there is where Todd stands tending to customers, making them drinks and usually just stands around bored cleaning glasses.
Other staff: There are many waiters and waitresses that tend to the tavern upstairs, sometimes a few are sent downstairs to help Todd serve drinks. Inu works at the tavern part time, but if anyone else wants to work at the tavern feel free XD;

"CAREFULL YUKI FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!" Shouted the trainer as her already gaging dragonair made a crash landing in the trees, in the process disloging said trainer. Luckily her tail was able to curl around one of the tree branches and kept her from kissing the ground.
"are you guys okay??" A second dragonair flew in through the hole they had made, and hovered near poke and yuki who had also managed to curl around a branch. "You have to be more careful, otherwise you'll get hurt!"
"it's not so easy to land if you can't breathe!" Yuki managed to untangle himself from the tree and flew down to the ground, with venus frowing and then helping poke to upright herself, before they both joined him on the ground. It was then they noticed the iron sign.
"I've never seen this sign here" the trainer commented while releasing another one of her pokemons, ran. "how about we check it out?" yuki made a face. A slight breeze went through the trees, and the sign gave a ominus creek. He did not like this place, and neither did venus nor ran. "This place seems really creepy" venus said, moving closer to ran and yuki. Ran was busy tweaking his ears. He could hear shouting from somewhere... "I think theres people down below"
it was pokes turn to frown. She wasn't one to ignore warnings that come from pokemon, since their scenes were more acute. However they would not know for certain what was happening untill they went inside. So she shrugged and said to them. "We'll just have to keep a good lookout then, and make sure we don't get seperated", before walking inside with her pokemon following.

Courage walked bent over from tiredness and hunger, both him nad his owner had ran out of supplies a few days back and just trying to find items off the forest wasn't the best they were good at. "Ohh..." He murmurer too low that his master couldn't take it as a complaint.
Skylark had his head down some as he walked, he couldn't tell what was worse. Being lost in the forest or being hungry in the forest. When he saw a tavern through the trees he didn't care how dark it looked. It was a chance they could get food and something to drink he would be happy.
Courage saw the tavern and looked scared but continued to followed inside.
Sky looked around before calling out. "Hello?"

Inu hurried about cleaning up glasses and empty plates from the tables. It felt at times as if she was the only one that worked here. Crumpit, her Raticate, followed behind her giving her a little reassurance and also helped by balancing a few plates on his back. Smiling down at the little pokemon, Inu continued to clean wishing she could let her other pokemon out without risk of destroying the place. Vash was a little on the clumsy side and Asklika was, well, violent.
Gathering up all the dishes in her arms, Inu balanced them as best she could as she headed back to the bar. The plates were stacked a little on the slanted side so when she stopped suddenly to greet the new comers into the tavern the top few plates and bowls went crashing to the floor and shattered.
“Hello! Welcome,” CRASH! Inu’s facial expression fell as she softly uttered. “Please sit where you like and I’ll be right with you.”
“Are you breaking more dishes you, clumsy girl?!” Terra yelled out from behind the bar.
“Sorry,” Inu nonchalantly placed the remaining dishes on the bar counter, grabbed a dust pan and broom, and headed back to the scene of the disaster. Crumpit held the dust pan while Inu swept up the broken porcelain and within a minute the area was clear. Placing the broom aside, Inu went too properly greet their new guests while Crumpit threw the broken dishes away. “Sorry about the mess, and again welcome.” She spoke to both guests at once hoping to kill two birds with one stone. “What can I get for the both of you? Drinks or maybe a bite to eat? Our specials today are Ruben sandwiches on rye, broccoli cheddar soup, and oh…wait…that was yesterday.” Inu panicked for a moment failing to recall what the specials were today. Remembering she had written them down on a piece of paper she began to shuffle through the apron she wore to retrieve them. “Let’s see, oh no this isn’t it. Not this either.”
Quite a few things appeared like gum, her waitress tab, pencils, hair brush, head phones with mp3 player, and a few other knick knacks before she finally produced the piece of paper with the specials on it. “Ah! Here we are! Our specials today are…Meat Pie, mushroom puffs, and for desert we have a very yummy upside down pineapple cake.” It was obvious Inu wasn’t the brightest crayon in the box.

flintching a little at the loud noise, poke wanted to go and help the girl who seemed to be having a little trouble, but was told to sit down and wait for her instead. She and her pokemon didn't have enough time to find a set though, The waitress was back.
"Oh, I'll just have..." she had to pause again while the girl was busy looking for the menu, and when she was done poke could finaly tell her want she wanted.
"Oh, I'll have the broocoli cheedar soup, the meat pie, those ruben sandwhiches and"
"I'd like whatever has fish in it! oh and mabye that soup" yuki said from behind poke.
"I'd like some seafood as well, please" ran nodded, while venus wasn't to sure with what she wanted. In all honesty she wasn't very hungry anyway. "I'll...just have whatever please" she said to poke.
"umm, yah all that plus those mushroom puff things"

Sky looked surprised to see the busy girl moving around so much. As he watched them he was really surprised to see that she was at a lost. He then looking in to see the amount of his money he had, he had enough to share with Courage. "We'll have the specials for today." He said as he slowly sat down looking the room over.
Courage gave a jump at seeing the crash and hearing the noise. He had hid behind a table leg and sticked his head out and made a quiet whining noise as he jumped up on the table to be closer to his human. "I got a bad feeling about this...." He said out loud.

Half way through the order Inu scrambled for her tab and a pencil and quickly began to jot what they were saying down. The first one was a large order but it seemed simple enough. “Alright and…Something with fish…something with fish. Seafood….I’ll….ask the cook on that one. And whatever?” That was a roll of the dice item. She would have to be sure to tell the cook something because he liked to experiment…and they didn’t always turn out good. With a worried expression she turned to the gentleman and took his order as well. “Alright I’ll get that out for you in just a second.”
Gathering up the things she had managed to scatter, Inu ran to the back and gave the order to the cook. In the mean time Crumpit brought out glasses of water carefully balanced on a tray on his back. Out of the two Crumpit was the most graceful, sadly enough, as he stopped by Poke’s table first to let them have their drinks before moving over to Sky to let him have the last drinks on the tray.

happy with the ordering done, poke sat down and thanked the lieelt pokemon for giving her a drink, while pulling out a small wallet and rummaging through it for cash. "I should have enough for the meal" she mumbled.
"you better have enough, I mean you ordered practicly half the shop" Yuki managed to sit up on one of the seats.
"she ordered half that food for us you know" venus repremended. Yuki rolled his eyes, but didn't reply. When it came to arguing with venus he either made her upset or they both argued untill someone gave up. So he had to be careful when saying anything lately. He then noticed her looking around the shop as if something were about to jump them.
Ran however merely looked at the amount of cash she had. "Perhaps you should have looked at the prices first" he said to poke.
"Don't worry I have enough money"

Sky took the last two glasses for him and Courage how even being a fire type nearly through his entire body into the water drinking it down quickly before jumping down to rub himself against the book bag on the floor to get dry before taking his place back up on the table. He smiled his owner.
Sky couldn't help but smile, his normal unhappy mood gone as he looked at Courage before looking back up at Poke as she yelled, he wasn't that good with pokemon yet but he could tell from facial features of what they meant at time of there moods. "If you need cash I can lone you some." He said as he looked at Poke.

It wasn’t two long before Inu emerged from the back again with two large trays balanced in either hand. Now if anyone knew the true nature of her balance the sight of her weaving in and out of the tables with two trays full of food would make one quite nervous, but somehow she made it back to her customers and placed the trays down on an adjacent table. “I’m sorry the whole order isn’t up yet. I just wanted to bring you out what was ready before it cooled down.”
In the middle of Poke’s table she placed a large plate full of mushroom puffs, obviously fresh from the oven, and a plate with a large sub like Ruben sandwich cut up into smaller sandwiches for easier handling. She also passed out the broccoli cheddar soup to those who had ordered them.
Turning to Sky’s table she placed yet another large plate of hot mushroom puffs down for them and then stood back. “The rest will be out in a minute, but how does everything look so far?”

Before inu had even asked them, poke had already dug into the sandwhiches, managing to devour two of them before shet dug into the soup. My god it was awsome! She then dipped one of the mushrooms in and tasted it, trying not to make a face in front of the waiter. Bleh, mushrooms, they still didn't taste nice. She then pushed the plates to her pokemon as she finished up the soup.
While venus merely picked at the food, yuki and ran seemed quite content with the mushrooms and sandwhich as they waited for the extra food.
"the food looks...looked great! poke replied to inu before address another pressing manner. "Aren't you very hungry venus?".
Venus just shook her head and continued to merly poke a mushroom around on her plate. Her trainer frowned; she hadn't been eating alot lately.

Inu looked a little concerned at the reaction she was getting. “Would you like something else? It’s really not a problem.” She bent down a little to look at the Dragonair. “Would you like something else? I’m sure we can whip something up to your liking.” Inu gave a little smile. She wasn’t sure if the little pokemon was sick or just didn’t feel like eating but maybe something fun to eat would perk up her interest? “What kind of stuff do you like? Fruit or pasta maybe? We can make just about anything.”

Venus looked up to the waiter who seemed so eager to please her. She looked quite surprized and realised guilty that the waiter must have thought she didn't like the food. To her it was quite nice, but she did have other things on her mind...
"Oh no! thats not it at all, The food is wonderful!" she quickly piled a few mushrooms into her mouth and swalloed them hole, trying to look very happy. "Yup, they are very nice!"
" ahh...we're had some things happen lately" poke tried to lamely explain to the waiter. "so she's been a little down"

Both Sky and Courage stared at the other dinners as they devoured there food."I thought were were hungry." He siad to Courage as he started to eat some mushrooms.
Courage looked at them for a moment before eating some soup then called over. "You gone days with out eating too?" He asked letting curiosity get over his shyness.

“Oh, I see. I’m sorry to hear that.” Inu didn’t want to pry but she hated to see people down. She was about to say something when the words the little torchic spoke caught her attention. Turning toward them with a frantic look “You’ve gone days without eating?” Inu was about to continue being frantic with them when the cook called through the window beside the bar that the rest of the food was ready. “Uh...yes! Be right there!”
Scurrying off Inu went and collected the last of the food on two more equally large trays and made her way back to the tables. She quickly passed Sky and Courage their meat pies and placed their cake in the middle of the table before moving on to Poke’s table. Cake was placed in the middle of the table, a meat pie was placed in front of Poke, a seafood sampler platter was placed in front of Ran, baked tilapia with veggies was placed in front of Yuki, and Venus got a plate of spaghetti and meatballs. “I hope you like pasta okay. I didn’t even bother to-“
“Girl!”
Inu shrank down a little at the sound of Terra yelling at her from behind the bar. Turning her head to look back she gave a small acknowledgment that she heard her…though who couldn’t hear her with a voice like that?
“You’re needed downstairs, Girly. Tony is a little overwhelmed by drink orders and needs help serving.”
“Y…yes…” Inu looked a little skeptical. She didn’t like working downstairs. “But, what about my customers? Who will refill their drinks and collect their tab and-“
“I’ll take care of it just get yourself downstairs.” Terra gave a firm point to the door behind the bar.
Defeated Inu turned to her former customers. “I’m terribly sorry, but Terra will take care of you from here.” She bowed a little. “Please enjoy your meals.”
