Hello, SDS.

Let me start off by saying that the views expressed in this post are MINE ONLY, and do not necessarily express the views of the three other moderators that Captain the guild. (Captains Alex, Motoko, and Tsuki. [DUDE. Doesn't "Captain [your name here]" sound sooo sweet?)

Let me also say that I sound like I'm introducing an infomercial or ad for some bigarse company or something of the like, and it's super-amusing.

BUT GETTING TO BUSINESS:
We, as a guild, do indeed have a problem, whether we realize it or not.

As a member of SDS since 2005, I totally, completely, absolutely understand that as a guild we get off-topic really easily.
And I want you to totally, completely, absolutely understand that it's okay to be off-topic a bit.

But if you're too off-topic, the purpose of the guild is lost.

Recently, I've noticed, that we're getting off-topic in the FMA Forum and staying off-topic.

I must say it as a Moderator, and I'm sorry, guys, but it IS my job to enforce something like this PLEASE, please, please, try to talk about Fullmetal Alchemist in the Fullmetal Alchemist forum.

If you'd like to talk about D Gray-Man or Naruto or Bleach or One Piece or Pee-Wee Herman or waffles or Death Note or ANYTHING ELSE...
please take it to the General Discussion Forum.

I DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES WANT TO RUIN THE ATMOSPHERE OF SDS.

But something has to be done, I think.

I would greatly appreciate it if we would all try to stay on-topic and USE the SUBFORUMS.
(I realise that I barely use the subforums myself, but I'm working on it.)

I want to bring new life to SDS, but I do not want to kill the life it already has.

I am very sorry if this upsets any of you! I repeat again, I am not trying to make SDS any less fun!

SO, TO SUMMARIZE:
1. Please, please, please, try to stay more on-topic!
2. Please use the subforums!
3. Invite new members! Nudge old members and tell them to come back! I really want SDS to be more active again!
4. THIS WILL NOT CHANGE SDS' PERSONALITY.
It's you guys that have stuck with SDS for so long that make it so great.
Moving to subforums is not going to change that!

Thank you so much for reading all of this!

I'd appreciate it if you'd express your opinions on the guild-cleaning project!

-raises hand-

As a moderator and a captain, I second that.

Just reminding all reading this, it's not a strict reformation or anything. We're not enforcing the new order of perfection, but even if we are changing and straying a bit from FmA collectively since there hasn't been any new FmA-ness out for a while, we need to stay true to it.
If you want to talk about DGM or Bleach or DN or whatever, that's cool, too.

Just do it in the GD subforum.

Well... we've been pretty much doing that already. The forum that gets the most posts now is our GD, and they are offtopic to the extreme.
No one's really been posting in the FMA main forum. D: There hasn't been too much to talk about with FMA, seeing as everying is out in America except for the manga, which is sllloooooowwwwwly being updated. (The volumes being released in America, that is.)

We could create discussions about FMA, but who's going to participate in them?

We could always advertise them around the guild, to make people post... but seriously, I don't want to make people post or anything. >.<
I don't know... I'd be up to chatting about FMA once again, but it all depends on the other guild members.

Oh, right. I know the GD is the most active subforum currently.
And that can be as off-topic-non-FMA-whatever-you-want as possible, because it the GD.

And oh, no, I don't want to force people to post against their own free will. That's crazy.

I'm not saying, "Talk about FMA!"
I mean, "Talk about FMA in the FMA forum and talk about other things in the GD!"

I realize my wording was a little confusing when I said, "Please talk about Fullmetal Alchemist." My apologies, I just meant to say to keep things seperate.

And as for the fact that no one's been posting in the main forum, I noticed that. ^^;
It just seems that whatever thread I look in, in the main forum, is very, very off topic. Newly off-topic.
(But that doesn't mean blame is not on myself, because I was part of the initial off-topic-ness in the beginning.)
It could just be a crazy coincedence that the threads I look into are off-topic; it could just be something that I have noticed.

But either way, it sparked something bigger, in my mind.

Hmm... I like that! We would watch an episode every two-three days, hold a discusiion for it... :/ Would that work?

We could even post links to episodes if they don't have the DVD.

Well, anyways, let's not waste time and put our plan into motion. Is everyone able to watch an episode every 2-3 days? Or should we make it longer than that, like every 4 or 5 days? School can be a huge b***h sometimes and eat all our free time.
