If you're interested in any suggestions for fantasy movies:
Stardust.
It did terribly in theaters, unfortunately, but less so because people saw it and thought it was bad than because people weren't intested in the previews and whatnot (which seems to be a growing problem: badly advertised movies. I fear it's going to do bad things for The Golden Compass, which has terrible advertising, but is a good story... and it'll do great things for JJ Abram's new flick).
It really is a good movie; Neil Gaiman wrote the book, for those familiar with him. I didn't read the book before seeing it, but I loved it anyway; it was hysterical and even though it used popular and well-worn fantasy conventions (witches, kings, princesses, et cetera), it used them in ways that made them feel fresh.
Robert De Niro's in it, too, and I just love his part. It was so unexpected. XD The seven princes are great, too; the dead brothers watch the living brothers and are absolutely hilarious.

I just tend to want the films I like to do well. I don't know if you've seen the same trailers, but the ones I have give a completely wrong impression of the story and make it seem like Chronicles of Narnia or something, and like Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig are the lead characters. Lord Asriel and Ms. Coulter are important, but just about as important as Lee Scorsby, Serafina Pekkala, and Iorek. The little girl (Lyra Belacqua, played by Dakota Blue Richards) is the main character, but they downplay her. :/ And if people go in expected another Narnia, they're going to come out angry.
They also don't mention in the trailers or on the posters that it's the first part of a trilogy. It's not even the sort of story where each part can stand on its own, so people are going to end up going in expecting a conclusive ending and come out either confused or, again, angry.
