Nice, though I have two questions/things to point out. First, have you thought of possibly adding a bit of shine to the hair? Maybe it's just a personal preference of mine; I really don't know what your goal was.
Second...the kanji; it may have looked better if you'd either hand drawn that as well, or used a font perhaps. I don't mean to nitpick but it reeks of MSpaint in my opinion. Is it supposed to look like graffiti? o.o

Taheen Hair is teh ebil! xp I have two methods: use a thin brush tool to draw each hair in two or three different shades of the hair colour then add shadows and highlights with the burn and dodge tools or just paint the flat colour then add highlights and shadows with the burn and dodge tools. The first method is time consuming but gives a more realistic effect while the second is fast and simple while adding a bit of depth.
Also, selecting a lot of jaggy areas and then lightening/darkening, then selecting an area to highlight and using the burn/dodge tool works great.
Any way you look at it though is going to be time consuming, but the end result is usually worth the effort. ^^

Ah thanks you both for the advice. It still ain't easy making it look real but I've got an idea now from you guys on how to approach the problem cool
