The sun was at its highest point in the sky, and the uncharacteristic warmth made Ylva all that much more active. With the gradual chilling of the season, the water wyrm made good use of these rarer warm days, and she had spent her morning happily snatching up fish. Now full, happy, and feeling quite full of herself, the river wyrm simply wandered lazily up and down her stretch of the waterway, completely at ease. Her bonded was off doing something for the mercenary guild, so she was left to amuse herself.
On every circuit of the several miles of river, she ended up at the lake, the very boundary between her and the large, rather obnoxious, wyrm that lived in the neighboring water. Every time, she waited just at the spot where river met lake, waiting to see if he'd come break her boredom by giving her something to snark at. On the latest circuit, she waited longer than usual, staying just inside the muddy boundaries of the river, just to see if he'd take the bait.

The dark blue and white skulled water wyrm lays on the bottom of his lake, eyes narrowed as he watches the colourful fish swim by. His claws expand and twitch, as do the frills, trying to attract the attention of the school. But right as one moves near his left eye twitches, something is near his territory, and it is -much- bigger then a measly fish.
Growling, his eyes glint as he moves to the surface and swiftly swims towards the... almost intruder. His bonded was currently 'taken' over by his other side so he was free to harm what ever was near. Zale smirked at this. Finally, he's going to have some fun soon... he stops as soon as he notices who is near and frowns.
'Ylva. What do -you- want.'

After an afternoon of mild boredom, it seemed that Ylva's wish for excitement was finally fulfilled. The water wyrm rolled over once, staying in her muddy water, and then surfaced, floating on her side of the border. With her back and head above water, she looked even more crocodilian, which was her entire aim.
"Zala... I was wondering how long it'd take you," she growled with mock pleasentry, her yellow eyes gleaming. She flexed her foreclaws. "Aren't you happy to see me?"

Zale snarls, extending his own claws once more. ''Not particularly.'' He flicks a claw in the water, some of his lake splashes into her muddy swamp. "Pft. Looking for someone to bother because you have nothing else to do?" He smirked as he turns to look at Ylva, moving to lie on his back and splash a bit more water into her area, seeming to tempt her.
"If you are, I'm not interested in being your personal entertainment system."

Ylva settles for a low rumbling growl, lightly treading at the water with her hind feet. "A shame. I've been waiting for you to take the bait all day." She arched her neck, one yellow eye focused on him as he flicked water into her river. "How insulting. I think my river went all sparkly for a moment there."
If his comments were meant to insult her, they did the opposite. She was only more encouraged by his result. "No, not really. I'd prefer bothering you, since you seem so keen to push the limits usually." She slowly turned her head just enough to spy a nice, warm sunny spot on the bank that looked awfully tempting.

"Excellent, I've been turned into the prey." Zale growls at this and glares at the crocodile looking wyrm. Then lets out a snort and rolls his eyes mockingly. "It needs to be cleaned at least once in a millennium"
His eyes narrow as she says this, yawning while he enters. "You won't be pushing me to the edge this time," he lets out a laugh "besides you most likely don't have the power to." Since the last time the two rival water wyrms met, Zale has grown in power and strength.

"No, not prey. Just entertainment."
Ylva rolled over a few times on the surface, one eye still watching him. "If I cleaned it out, I'd lose my camouflage and my hunting methods. Besides, have you ever tried cleaning out an entire river? Unless you can purify the source...."
She trailed off and then snapped her jaws in warning for him not to approach. "Power counts for nothing if you can't see to apply it," she said, sinking most of her body down into the murky water.

"Once again, I refuse to be your personal entertainment system, thank you." He sniffs at this comment and rolls his eyes at her, kicking his webbed feet against the water. Then shrugs at her next statement. "And idea you should consider, pick a new spot." Snorts at this, moving closer to the edge and staring down into the muck. "It's disgusting, I don't understand how you can live there."
He backed up an inch when the female snapped at him. " Power may not count," a smirk rises in his face. "But strategy can, and I know you won't be able to beat me in that. You rely to much on your 'camouflage' ... ability, may you call it."

Ylva blew air out through her nostrils, bubbling the water up in front of her. "You're amusing just by being present, Zala, dear. A new spot, though? What new spot. I happen to like this place. The mud is good for the hide, the fish are tasty, and the wildlife provides a nutritious treat when fish gets boring."
Really, the river wasn't all that mucky. It was just siltier, darker water in comparison to the lake. Ylva wouldn't have lived in pure mud. The slight murk just made it easier to stalk prey... and avoid big, obnoxious things. "Pfft. You wouldn't know strategy if it came up out of those clear depths of the sterile pond you call a 'lake' and bit you on the backside."

His look becomes dull, red eyes just starring at her with dislike. "I have no time to be amusing." He slowly begins to pad his way back to the school of fish. Looking back to make a mocking shudder at the swamp. Despite it's silty look, he just hated the meer sight of the water. "Find some place else so you can stop annoying me."
He snorted at her last comment. "I didn't win my other fights just because of sheer power dear Ylva." He ruffled his fins as he s;lowly emerged into the water.

"Well, then, be gone. I'll just enjoy myself here." Ylva blew out a frustrated stream of bubbles. She simply turned her back to the other wyrm and leisurely swam toward the shore, safe on her side of the territorial line. She lazed up onto the mud, sprawling out on her belly. "This is a nice place to relax..."

He blew out some bubbles and rolled his eyes at Ylva before entering into the water fully and swims around. 'Hmph, she no fun anymore. Might as well lok for something else to torture.' He smirked to himself and bit onto a fish's tail, flinging up and out of the water. Zale watched as it flips and reemerges into the water, looking afraid and banging into things. 'Meh. Fish are to stupid.'

One eye open, Ylva watched as Zale slipped back into his lake, mildly amused as he tossed the innocent fish into the air. Poor fishy. What had it ever done to deserve such a fate. She snickered quietly and just watched for a moment and then grabbed a footful of river mud with one hand, flinging it in the direction of Zale's lake. Let him chew on that.... she thought, amused by his obvious boredom.

Zale had stayed in the same spot, looking for something else to pck on before all off a sudden mud came floating into him. His maroon eyes twitched. 'So, she really wants to start a fight again doesn't she' He let out a low growl, catching another fish and holding it in his jaw then swimming above water and flinging the fish at Ylva this time. Then splashes some of his lake water at her.

Ylva let out a quiet snicker as Zale reappeared above the water. She snorted as the fish slapped wetly against her back. "Why, thank you, Zala. How nice of you to catch me a snack," she said, turning her head back to snatch the wiggling fish and crunch it between her jaws. Mmm... quite tasty. The lake water hit her in the face, and she shook her head about, growling at him around her mouthful of fish. How irritating. "Do you mind? I'm eating!"
