Magic isn't real, right? Wrong. For over eight centuries, the supernatural force has merely been dormant, present but unfelt. In the year 2000, this changed. Whether through cosmic happenstance, a long prophecied awakening, or any of a number of reasons, magic has again become an active, yet hidden power. A handful of people, a thousand at most, have discovered an innate ability, and for a decade, this ability has been kept away from the eyes of even the omnipresent media...but not for much longer...
The year is 2010, and the world is little different from the one we know. Technology has advanced little, as has culture. That's all about to be turned on it's head. Recently, one of the few capable of magic, a scientist, discovered a relic of unknown nature, awakened by the same force that awakened magic as whole. Upon realizing the power of the artifact, and its potential, he set into motion a plan, a plan that would irrevocably change the world...
Look! It's a profile skeleton! Pretty cool, huh?

Name: Magwich 'Magnum' Anair Alias(Optional): Age(Optional): 16 Gender: Male Apperance: Bleach-white hair. No one knows how it got to be so. It also sticks out in odd stiff directions. Nevertheless, he likes it. Style of dress: A green sleeved unbuttoned shirt over a white sleeveless shirt, and green cargo pants. Personality: If he gets into a groove, you may wanna stay out of his way. Other than that, he's cool, calculating, and utterly enticing to women. He seems to have a sixth sense that allows him to forsee anything that comes his way. Bio(Long or short): Like many people, Mag was born. Like others, he also grew into an agile highschooler, with uncanny skills as a running back. Skills: Running, jumping, dodging, and punching. Magic(Very optional): A very very weak form of time pressurization, in which he perceives the world moving slightly slower than usual, and has more time to act accordingly. He doesn't even notice that he has this ability.

(I invited you to come to the guild, sweetie, go ahead.) Alex laid in bed, bored as usual. "This SUCKS. I wish something interesting would happen."

Magnum idly tapped a pencil against the top of his desk, running the other hand through his hair.
"Damn, so boring," He murmured.

(Also, once you decide who'll be doing your TFing, tell me, unless, of course, you don't want me to do it. Woe to he who lets me TF him whilst he lacks Character Shields....)
As if responding to their boredom, any programs that were currently on the TV/radio (assuming they were on) were interrupted by breif static, followed by a cold, male voice. "Greetings, citizens of North America. My name...is not of importance. I have made great diplomatic efforts with your president to form an alliance, whiuch has been rudely declined. Unfortunately, this leaves me to use...more unpleasant means of persuasion. In ten major cities across this continent, I have slipped samples of a terrific virus into various water supplies. This information is accurate as of...twelve hours before this brodcast, and you will know if you're infected within a day. Now you can get back to your program. Have a nice day." The television returned to it's former brodcast, as though nothing had happened.
(Feel free to "evade" the virus, as there are multiple strains of it, and they stack. If you have any questions, (which I'm positive you do) PM me.)

He had never been so glad that he hadn't taken a shower last night, or drank a glass of water.
The mere notion of the message sent his heart racing. What was to happen of the others around him?

(So you're all willing to take your fate in your own hands? How generous!)
Within half an hour, the city was in panic. Nothing drastic had happened to anyone, but indeed, many people did feel ill. Every hospital in the city was soon crammed full.
(Don't worry. This is sorta like a prelude. You'll get to the interesting part soon enough...and Alex, remember, the virus is totally unpredictable, capable of virtually anything.)

Finishing his work Will finally got a chance to watch T.V. Only thing on was stories about the mass panicing going on because of the announcement. Now he was getting worried since ha had just had a glass of water. He layed down on his bed, wondering if he caught anything. He felt a little funny but nothing serious.
"Probably just in my head.Things like this always happen when mass hysteria break out.Oh,what was it called again when people start experiencing symptoms that don't actually exists because of panic." His mind distracted he pulled out an encyclopedia to find the answer.

Alex didn't die. In fact, he didn't feel much of anything short of a minor headache, and a throbbing pain at his forehead, elbows, knees, heels, and cocyx.

Magnum frowned at the empty classroom, and, seeing that school was pretty much dismissed, walked outside, his hands calmly set in his pockets.
