Would it be smart to go from a 8g to a 00g in the one stretch?

Not at all. This would result in far too much physical force being applied to the area and aside from making you scream in pain for as long as you attempt to push that taper, you may (and probably would) also cause a blow out or otherwise cut the fistula.
It is best to stretch by gauge (no skipping) one stretch every 6-8 weeks to allow for your ears to adjust completely. You'd have to go from 8, to 6, then 4, 2, 0 and then finally 00.
Though this process will take a very long time, your lobes will remain healthy and without injury as long as you are careful, clean and aware of what you're doing at all times.

no. if you could even manage to force the taper through your ear it would result in massive tearing. thus leading to blowouts and cat-a**. PROOF

your joking right? i can't imagine being able to, or even if you could how much that would hurt. I'm having trouble switching my 2g's to a Og.
