[ basic roleplaying rules ]
Welcome Star Trek RPers! Here are the fundamental rules of the Continuum Roleplaying Forum:
NOTE: If you want to create a roleplay with no relation to Star Trek, please PM me first.
These rules will apply to every roleplay by default. The creators of the different RP threads are entitled to add rules as well. Be sure to read all the rules before you get involved in a roleplaying storyline--it should save everyone a lot of hassle in the long run. If you would like to start a new thread and don't think one/some of these basic rules should apply, please PM me and I'll most likely give you permission. Not that I'll ban you or anything if you don't...just as a courtesy thing.
1. This is redundant but FOLLOW THE CREATOR'S RULES. Most roleplay constructors have a great backstory for you and plenty of rules to keep it organized and fun. Please be sure to read the rules of each individual roleplay you want to be involved in and decide whether or not you'll be able to follow those rules.
2. NO god-modding. This means your character is not invulnerable, he/she can't have everything he/she wants, and he/she is not the only important character. No one likes "perfect" opponents or teammates.
3. Whether or not romantic relationships between player characters and canon characters will be allowed is to be determined by the creator of the roleplay. If they request that there be no such relationships, please respect their decision.
4. Please use your best spelling and grammar while roleplaying. I think most roleplayers would tell you they prefer full sentences without a bunch of spelling errors.
5. If there are arguments or other problems, PM me first. Roleplaying should be FUN, let's all be nice and enjoy each other's company. =D
That's it. Now, get out there and show the galaxy what's what.
