Course Description
Shapeshifting is a common theme in folklore, as well as in science fiction and fantasy. In its broadest sense, it is a change in the physical form or shape of a person or animal. Other terms include metamorphosis, morphing, transformation, or transmogrification.
There is no settled agreement on the terminology. Still, the most common usages are:
* shapeshifting indicates changes that are temporary
* metamorphosis indicates changes that are lasting
* transformation indicates changes that are externally imposed
Shapeshifting is distinguished from natural processes such as aging or metamorphosis (despite shared use of the term), the body contortions of animals such as the Mimic Octopus, and illusory changes. Instead, shapeshifting involves physical changes such as alterations of age, gender, race, or general appearance or changes between human form and that of an animal, plant, or inanimate object.
This class will focus on short term shifting, and later, more lasting.

Legion sat himself under a large tree, looking toward the school, candles shining in the windows, leaking into the blackness of the dusk. The vampire stared at his hand for a second, concentrating on the energy until a small ball of light flickered into his palm. He let the energy strengthen before he threw it up into the air above his teaching space, and let it hover there as his student's light source. He set a stack of papers in front of him, then shoved a few pencils into the soft grass next to them. He picked up one of the papers and read carefully over his brief course description and disclaimer, He didn't want to take responsibility for some irreversible mutation that some student may put them self through in the class... he didn't want to have to deal with it.

Daisuke walked into the courtyard, examining the environment. It was getting chilly as the sun's warth weakened. 'Hey, it's that guy from the cafeteria.' He chose a spot to sit on the grass in front of the other. "Woah, am I early? That's a first. My name's Daisuke." He smiled. "Ya know, you're the first vampire, other than me, of course, I've ever seen. It's rather exciting," he paused to admire the sunset. "Hell, it's the first time I've met people that aren't even human...it's kinda weird, but in a good way." He picked at the grass beneath his hands. "So, when can we start?"

Zeruel slowly walked towards the two vampires, sensing the darkness about them.
"I heard there was a class out here. Is this the Shapeshifting class?" Zeruel asked, kneeling near Daisuke and looking at Legion.

"Yep. Your in the right place," He said, silently thanking Zeruel for breaking the awkward moment. It was weird, having finally met someone of your own kind. So many questions to ask, and yet he didn't know which one to start with.

Looking from Legion to Daisuke, Zeruel gave a short sigh as he sat fully down on the grass cross-legged. "Shapeshifting... Does that mean that we will actually learn to change ourselves into whatever we want?" Zeruel asked, looking at Legion.

Legion smiled at the other eccentric vampire as he approached and sat down in front of him. "Greetings, Daisuke. I'm Legion." He nodded his head slightly in an informal bow, "Yeah, you're a bit early, but not too much." He stared toward the fading sunset, "Yeah, I've never met another vampire, either. Our kind seems to be rare... though, we almost dominate this school. I suppose it is because the Principal..." He was interrupted by Zeruel who had just arrived. he only nodded at the question as Daisuke answered him verbally, then continued to answer his second question, "Thats the idea." He smiled playfully, "hopefully i can put it into words when i try to teach it." He furrowed his brow.

Walking out of the school, Vemna noticed the small gathering out in the courtyard. Realizing it must be a class, he walked over and sat down. "And what class might this be" he asked

Looking up at Vemna, Zeruel answered his question. "This is the new shapeshifting class. We get to learn how to change ourselves into anything we want, and not just a foggy ethereal blob, like I can do..." Zeruel said, frowning at the thought of his small ability to turn ethereal for a few seconds.
"So, Legion. When do we start? We have a fair amount of people here," Zeruel asked, eager to broaden his shapeshifting knowledge from more than a blob of ethereal-ness.

"Hey, hey! Do we get to turn into a bunny?! Or a puppy? Oh my gosh, what a about a turtle?!!" Daisuke went on, ranting about all the different animals he wanted to be. "Oh, oh! And what about a ducky?!"

Legion let out a sincere laugh and passed out his course description. "Yeah, we can start now." He stood up "Okay, first off. I would like each of you to sign this disclamer... Though, I will probably be able to fix most of the mistakes you make to yourself... but If I can't, you can't blame me for it." He smiled nervously, "But, anyway, Zeruel has experience in a sort of shapeshifting, does anyone else?"

Taking the piece of paper and reading through it, Zeruel signed his name and looked back at Legion. "So whats going to happen first?" He asked.
