The sun was high in the sky and the heat drove Wyrms of all types, save fire, into the shade or into the water. Willows and various other trees lined a particular river that dumped it's contents into a lake that was a good half a mile downstream. In the shade of a tall willow, a water cheetah had coiled himself up in the shade while he let his finned tail float in the slow moving current of the river. The mass of sleek fur and scales shifted slightly as the heat bothered his quickly drying coat, soon he would have to slip back in the water to cool himself down. Amber eyes flickered open as the large Water wyrm watched the sky sift through the waving branches of the willow. Giving a deep and gutteral sigh, Bongani twitched his nose before snapping at the man who had approached his side.
Silver ear length hair shifted slightly as the man rolled his eyes at his bonded. "You lazy a**. Get the hell up... I can't go yet but you sure can. We need to get that frakkin book as soon as we can." Running a hand through his hair, Roran tugged slightly at the silver earing that hung from his ear before returning his Topaz eyes to Bongani. Being a vampire had its disadvantages, not being able to go into the sun and all, but that fraction of mutated gene helped lessen the the impact of the sun. Being fair with skin and face, Roran unfortunately was popular with the female veriaty of humans. But that annoyed him to no end...

Lazily swimming down the river was a wyrm of long measure, weaving despite the current. White flecks against her dark blue color glittered in the sun when she emerged into the air for even a moment. The current could have carried her all the way to the lake and back easily, but she was at home here. In standing water or the tides of the sea came her problems, though she was still graceful in her movements even then. Atalanta glanced beside her, not really feeling a purpose for her actions. She had been alone with seldom talks with others for far too long.
However, before Ata could even start to think she was alone, another body sped past her, turning sharply in the river and fighting against the weak current. The water wyrm smiled at the way the woman fought the natural order, oddly vibrant blue-green eyes piercing the clear water. The sunlight beneath the water reflected off of pale skin; night black hair swam around her head as if with a mind of its own. When she reached Ata, long fingers grasped around an ivory horn, relaxing, though the current current had not been a tough fight. The girl was very well toned, muscle-wise, having gotten used to her wyrm's habitat. Her green tail floated out behind her as she relaxed, loosely holding onto Ata. When the shade of a willow tree blotted out the sun, the blue wyrm swam close to the bank, allowing Amai to clamber out. She didn't allow herself to change just yet, looking about for others as she dripped onto the bank. A way's down, she spotted a flash of yellow, though she didn't feel threatened.
"Tired?" Ata asked, her voice with a teasing tone.
"Of course not." Amai answered. "I left some clothes beneath some of those bushes though a long time back. Wanted to see if they were still there." True, she wasn't indecent at the moment for eyes to look upon, but with just a black band saving her from the eyes of others, she still felt mostly naked.

As always, Bongani had won the verbal battle with his bonded and lay contently on the shadowy bank. The long fins on the water male's back slowly ajusted to let the heat escape from his body, but his body was completely dry by now. Grunting as he picked himself up, Bongani slid himself gracefully into the slow moving river, sinking to the bottom and onto the pebbles that lined it.
Growling slightly as Bongani left him to go into the stream, Roran sat back against the willow tree while he scooted away from the large patches of sun. His arms were covered by his dark red tunic and his legs where covered by his black pants, but his face and hands were entirely at the mercy of the light. Casually flicking open his leather pack, the vampire withdrew a book from it's depths and thumbed it open to the page he had stopped on.

As Amai climbed out of the water to fetch her clothes, Ata left the water and stood between her and the others downstream. "Gods, this is Aran's shirt." Amai said in a disgusted voice, pulling a pair of black shorts to pull on and then holding up the now brownish-white shirt which had belonged to her brother.
"Better than nothing." Ata pointed out, slinking back into the water as Amai pulled it over her head. The water wyrm lazily snaked her way downstream again until she was very near the stranger. As he settled on the pebbles, she swam over him, turning to face her fellow water wyrm with curiosity.
Amai blinked as Ata vanished, grumbling quietly. She threw the bag which had saved these clothes for her back into the bushes, liable to put these back once she prepared to go on her way again. With little effort involved, she got reused to walking on land, meandering downstream to where Ata was, stopping a ways off from them and watching carefully.

Raising his head off of the bed of pebbles, the Cheetah patterned male crossed his for arms and blinked at the approaching wyrm. Strangely enough he had not forseen the female's encounter, which was odd because of his hightened hearing and smell. Blinking slightly, the cat like male cocked his head to the side while he watched the unfamiliar blue and speckled female. Flexing his back fins, Bongani reached out with his mind to the other carefully.
/Hello./
Engrossed in his book, Roran chose to ignore the sounds of movement that were issused some were up stream from where he was situated. Running a hand through his hair so that it didn't bother his face, the vampire yawned and cracked his neck, patiently waiting for night and the person to arrive. Flicking the white paper page of his book, Roran itched the side of his nose and muttered a passage of the book under his breath memorizing it for later use.

Atalanta felt the fellow mind touching hers. The sensation was far from a new one, and she welcomed another wyrm with gratitude. Hello. My name's Atalanta. It is not often me and mine see another water around here. Her tone was pleasant, inviting.
Amai felt Ata trusting the stranger and was soothed by the thought of relative peace. She wanted nothing more for the moment to lay in the grass, but until she was sure that the strangers were decent, she couldn't relax.

/I am Bongani, and this sorry excuse for a person is Roran my bonded./ Silently indicating the silver headed male with with cheetah spotted tail, the male water wyrm continued. /We were passing through until the clouds cleared up and the sun came out. Now we have to wait for the darkness to come, so that we can move again./
It was odd, for some reason Bongani felt completely comfortable around this female. It wasn't a feeling that would pop up so easily for the male, because of his cat like nature. /May I ask what you and Your's are doing around here?/
Shifting slightly as the patch of sun shifted toward him as a snail like pace, Roran flicked over another page of his well kept book. Running a finger under the lines on the page that he read, the vampire's Topaz eyes shifted to the area where the female was hidden. Her scent was an odd one, being almost floral like, describing to him that whoever it was she was not a human. Clentching his fist slightly at his side as a small gust of wind brought another swirl of her scent to him, Roran knew it would be a challange to refrain himself if she got any closer. For even know it took a lot of his self reserve not to go after her at this very moment. He, in all his years of life, had never come across a scent that inticed him as this woman's, luckily for both of them he had fed only a two days prior.

Ata slowly climbed out of the river, glancing over at her fellow wyrm's bonded. Being unable to walk in sunlight revealed his nature, though it did not bother her. Until he decided to hunt her Amai, he had her trust. A pleasure to make your acquaintence, Bongani.
She turned to look at Amai, who still seemed wary. She sent a wave of assurance over their bond, and her face seemed relieved. Ata glanced back at Bongani, smiling. I am a river wyrm. Wherever the water runs in our home. Amai tired of swimming, so we came to find a stash of her clothes, and here we are. Very fortunate we came this way, I might add.
Amai loved being able to feel safe. She waved at Ata and informed her that she'd be over in a few minutes. Wandering away from the bank, she found a nice patch of grass and lay down, turning her face to the sun. She cleared her mind of all thoughts and simply enjoyed the heat and light.
Ata bobbed her head slightly. If you don't mind me asking, what are you doing out this way? It's not often we run across people accidentally.

Following the female halfway out of river, Bongani glanced at his bonded noticing the placid face and clentched fist. Something was wrong, but it couldn't be time to feed... his eyes were topaz and not dark amber, plus he had fed only recently. Not bothering to bring up anything with Ata, the cheetah male responded to her comments and questions.
/A pleasure inded, and I do not mind. Roran is on a quest to retreave an ancient book that has been stole from his clan... he can not return without it. By his own pride of course... his clan didn't want him to go in the first place. They are a special clan... different from all the rest./
Growling under his breath in agitation, Roran snaped his book shut with a sharp 'crack.' How long could he stand such an inticeing scent? It was powerful, almost to powerful... and it raised a small sence of fright in the back of his mind. He could... no wouldn't let himself slip. He would not give into the temptation of the song of the female's blood, it wasn't worth it. "Its... not... worth it. God damn it, its not worth it."
Letting a flicker of concern pass across his face as he hissed slightly under his breath, Roran began to rebuild his emotional wall, that at least would give him some controll when the woman finally made contact.

Ata stopped to think if she had seen such a treasure. If anyone around here had it, it was likely to be a therian or another vampire. Different? How? Curiosity overtook manners, the water wyrm stretching carefully while keeping her eyes constantly on Bongani. He had a very interesting pattern, she noted, letting her muscles stop straining as her back gave a small pop.
Amai listened to the sound of the river, sighing quietly. Gods, sometimes she missed the ocean. Refusing to let her heart wander more downstream than the fate she had been eager to agree to, the girl sat up and glanced back at the two wyrms talking, though she really only heard Ata's side of the conversation, when she listened at all. Amai stood and wandered over to the stream, keen eyes picking up a brief image of herself on the moving water. Gods, she looked homeless, poor. Not usually vain, she did hate meeting new people while looking worse than her brother. Alas, what was a person to do?
Ata felt her bonded's aggrivation with her appearance and chuckled inwardly. I think you look fine, Amai. She commented, causing a vibrant glare to be directed her way.
I look like a homeless child. She retorted angrily, running her fingers through her hair to try and tame the black locks that went every which way. Giving up quickly, she crossed her arms and pouted, almost plopping on the ground. Thinking better ofg doing it on the muddy bank, she simply stood there and sulked, looking very much like a taller and older child.

/I think its better if you ask him yourself, or through your bond. I might be his partner in life, but even I know things that he would rather disclose himself./ Pulling himself fully out of the river and into the shade of the closest tree, Bongani returned his gaze back to the female river Wyrm. Her pattern was indeed interesting, and now that he was closer to her, the male was able to see all of the different colors and they facinated him. /Your hide reminds me of moving water.../ Blinking in surprise as he forgot his manners, though he only had them around females, Bongani hastily continued. /... Sorry. I don't know what came over me./
It was useless. No matter how hard he tried Roran could not block the woman's scent, it was slowly driving him mad, and he knew he was starting to slip. Leaning forward into his now gloved hands, the male vampire let his mind roam free in his thoughts, trying to find a safe haven from the woman's blood song.
He found it with no problem, it was an odd memory for sure, but it helped Roran restore his mental barrier. It was the memory of his first year free of the bonds of normal vampiric hood, it had felt so good to pass into the final folds of training and finally feel like he had been entierly accepted by his clan.
Letting his memory finish, and hoping to all things that the woman's sent was at least somewhat bearable, the silver headed male withdrew his head from his hands.

Forgive me, I pry where I don't belong. Ata bowed her head slightly as an apology, peering up at his comment. It's fine! I must admit, that is a new comment though. She smiled and lowered herself to where she could rest, the speckles down her back glistening slightly as they caught the light.
Ata was settling down. Amai shook her head, laughing lightly as she found her way to her wyrm, fingers scratching lightly behind the base of one of Ata's horns. The female's eyes closed, the wyrm's side of the bond practically glowing. Spoiled lizard. Amai sent her privately, smiling softly.
Glancing at the two others, the mermaid raised a hand in greeting, trying not to feel too embarassed about her looks.

/Oh no no. No need to apologize, I rather want you to know about what Roran is. I would like you see your and Your's reaction.../ Turning his mischief filled amber eyes so that they fell upon Ata's face, Bongani twitched his fins in amusement. /Its not like he'll refuse to tell his story. If your Your's can figure out he's a vampire that is.../
Pausing for a moment to shift a sly gaze at his human counter part, the Cheetah male continued speaking. /Really, its a new comment? I would think others would have compaired your glittery hues to water./ Flicking his tail in the air with a jerk, Bongani let the woman know he saw her greeting.
The woman's scent was still there and the temptation still just as strong, though it seemed as if he could control his reactions far better now. Breathing deeply, even though he really didn't need to breath at all, Roran turned his topaz eyes toward the woman who had emerdged. Raising a fair hand into the air in responce to the woman wave, while the book he had put away now appeared in his free hand, almost as if it had never left his hand.
Becoming a vampire had some advantages, the increased spead and strength was usefull... but you never aged. That was one of the worst parts of all, watching all the humans you even bothered to create a bond to die before your eyes. But those blessings and curses came with a price... if you didn't die from the poison, you were forced to spend three or more days in searing pain. It was almost been unbearable.
Shaking his head slightly trying to clear it off all thoughts but self control, Roran tried to figure out why this particular female smelled so appitizingly good.

Amai's a fast one. It's getting her to ask that could be the problem. Ata wondered quietly, watching Amai. Eyes flickering, she extended her neck, nosing the back on Amai's leg and making her stumble forward. Go make friends. Ata ordered playfully.
When I speak to others, they are either too preoccupied with other issues or are family. The water wyrm gave the tiniest shrug, a gesture she had picked up from Amai.
Amai stumbled forward, huffing quietly at the pushiness of some wyrms. She looked over the other wyrm's bonded, looking him over. Only after a few moments of surveying did she remember her manners. Smiling apologetically, she gave a small curtsey, turning her eyes downward. "Forgive my forgetfulness. I am Amai. Sorry for the intrusion."

/Well thats a way to do it for certain./ Chuckling slightly at the playful shove Ata gave her bonded, Bongani proceeded to watch Roran's reaction to the woman. /I wonder how long it will take Your's. If the hair doens't give it away, or the eyes, his unwillingness to step into the sun will. But he's rather meticulous about that.../
Carefully withdrawing his mind from Ata's momentarily, the Silence male spoke with his bonded. /Play nice Ronan. Try not to slip up will you? I rather like her Ata... she's very interesting to be around./
Smirking slightly as he returned his mind to the female wyrm, Bongani continued. /How long, may I ask, have you been together with Amai?/
Raising his eyes from his book to glance at the woman as she approached, Roran froze slightly, not even bothering to remove the strands of silver hair that blew into his face. The woman was pale, but not paler than he some days, and her form was fitter than the average woman. Though her body would be considered good looking towards humans, it was her eyes that inticed the frozen responce from the vampire., though her body to him was to be held in high regaurds Her eyes, along with her scent, were very vivacious and the blues and greens mixed in such away that it entranced him...
Realizing he had not yet greated the woman, Roran smoothly got to his feet, a little to fast for a normal human. Bowing slightly in responce to the woman's curtsey, the male vampire spoke, his words almost seeming a bit musical. "There is nothing to forgive Amai, I am Roran Culluns. You are not intruding at all..." Controlling himself was getting easier, but only slightly. For each time he caught her scent, another craving was sent through his body, but for her and the Wyrm's sake, he didn't let the conflict show. Thankfull for the long years of practice...
