Hideki decided it was about time for him to let those poke balls come into use. He wanted to catch a Caterpie because they evolved into Butterfree which would be a elegant touch to competition. He searched for one and when he wanted a Caterpie, he got a Weedle. Hideki shrugged and decided to use it for training. Hideki gestured Aki forward for battle, but the Weedle was quick and attacked first. Poison Sting hit and Aki felt the pain. She cringed a bit but attacked when Hideki said to. Since the Weedle was a bug type the flames took major effect and the pokemon fainted. Then Hideki continued to search and finally came across a Caterpie. It looked at him with its giant bug eyes and Hideki took this opportunity to throw the ball.

"Yes!" He said as the ball locked the pokemon in it's new ball. Hideki placed his new Caterpie on his belt and continued to search for more pokemon, to catch or battle with.

Mimi and Bulby headed straight for the tall grass on Route 2. They still had a lot of training to do, and hadn't caught any Pokemon yet. Mimi wanted to train Bulbasaur some more, before catching a Pokemon. She was introduced to two new kinds of Pokemon on this route - Weedle and Caterpie. Having battled one of each, as well as another Rattata, Bulbasaur gained another level and a new move - Leech Seed.

Once Bulbasaur was leveled up, Mimi looked around for a Pokemon to catch. She really wanted to get a Pidgey. She had fought a few of them and they were pretty tough, not to mention cute. It was a little harder to find one on Route 2 with all of the other Pokemon around, but Bulbasaur managed to come across one.

"Okay Bulby, let's get it! Make sure you don't make it faint," Mimi reminded him. Bulbasaur nodded and tackled the Pidgey, but lighter than it normally would have. Mimi had Bulbasaur use it's new Leech Seed attack, which tangled up the wild Pidgey in vines, making it hard to escape and slowly draining it's energy. With the Pidgey trapped, Mimi took out and empty pokeball and threw it.

The pokeball shook only once or twice before it dinged - a solid catch. Mimi applauded herself (literally) at such a nice catch, before picking up her new Pokemon and placing the pokeball in her bag. Now she had two Pokemon on her team.

Even though Hideki didn't show it, he was incredibly happy with his catch. He then trained Aki for a while with a Rattata and a Pidgey. He then soon realized it was best to train his new pokemon, now that his first had learned a new move. Aki was a bit jealous so Hideki placed her back in her ball. He didn't want his pokemon to start fighting, especially since Aki was a fire type and could take out Sora in a flash. Sora came out and started to crawl around not getting that it was training time. He wiggled around enjoying himself, Hideki only sighed and searched for a pokemon to fight. A Weedle came out and attacked Sora with a poison sting. The attack had thrown Sora off and he became scared. Hideki told Sora to tackle but he only stood there scared. He told Sora to attack again but the Caterpie instead released string shot and tangled the Weedle up. It wiggled and finally broke free then attacked with another poison sting. Caterpie was getting annoyed and finally attacked with a tackle. Knocking Weedle down, Hideki repeated and Caterpie did it again. The Weedle fainted and Sora showed happiness by twirling around. Hideki on the other hand wasn't happy with the battle. He lowered himself to Sora who in returned started to crawl up his arm.

"Sora you should be more willing to fight, or other pokemon will push you around." He said sternly and Sora nodded, then climbed up onto Hideki's head.

"Alright let's practice battling once more." Sora understood and jumped down to the ground and this time he was ready. Hideki was thrilled even though he showed no emotion. They both searched for a new pokemon till a Rattata came out. Without Hideki's command Sora got ahead of himself and attacked with a String Shot. This angered the Rattata and made it tackled Sora, knocking him far back.

"If you don't listen to me you're going to hurt yourself!" Hideki said with a bit of anger in his voice. Sora nodded and waited for Hideki's command.

"String shot then tackle it while it's tangled up." Hideki said and Sora did so which made the Rattata faint and Hideki gave a small smile to his pokemon. He lowered his arm to allow the bug pokemon to climb up. It did quickly and sat at his shoulder and Hideki rubbed it's head softly. It took him a long time but Hideki finally realize that there was a girl there with him. She looked familiar to him, but he couldn't place where he had seen her before. He glared at her then rolled his eyes and walked further away with his Caterpie.

After Mimi had put away Pidgey's pokeball in her bag, she went to make her way towards the Viridian Forest. It was then that she realized she hadn't been alone on Route 2 this whole time. There was another boy who seemed to be walking away from her. She recognized him immediately; she had caught his back the last time she bumped into him at the Pokemon Center. He had been so quiet, she hadn't noticed him at all until just then.

Never missing an opportunity to make a new friend (and totally disregarding the fact that this boy did not look like the friendly type), Mimi called to him.

"Hey!" she said, catching up and running alongside of him. "You're a trainer too, right? You must be, walking around with that newly caught Caterpie. I mean, who else would be walking around here with a Caterpie? And I saw you coming out of the Pokemon Center before too. You had a Vulpix with you, didn't you? Don't you remember?" Mimi went on talking, not leaving any gap between questions for the tall boy to answer nor acknowledging the fact that he didn't seem all that interested in answering. After all, he had been walking away from her all this time.

Bulbasaur, however, clearly understood the situation and was desperately trying to keep up with his trainer. Mimi and her Bulbasaur may have had many similar traits, but Bulbasaur certainly wasn't as naive as she was, nor was he that compulsive. It was easy for him to see these weaknesses in his trainer and he quickly became very protective of her. And the situation Mimi was currently getting herself into did not look good at all to Bulbasaur.

Hideki was completely baffled at this girl's actions towards him. He's state of confusion went instantly away once she started talking. He couldn't believe how much this little girl could talk, it was completely beyond him. He didn't know whether to answer her pointless questions or to tell her to shut up. While she was talking he didn't even look at her, he decided to pretend she wasn't there. He instead looked at his Caterpie who was somewhat scared of the non-stop talking of the girl. He curled into Hideki's arm and tried to hide from sight. He wondered how long the motor-mouth could go before she realized that he wasn't interested in the conversation she was trying to create. At the same time he wondered why she was even trying to talk to him, most people stayed away from him. He constantly would release a go away vibe to the world. He finally concluded that she was naive or completely oblivious, or both. It was extremely difficult to walk away from her too; she kept following him like a bee to honey.

It took Mimi a few minutes - much longer than any normal person should take - to realize that she was being ignored. This phenomenon was rare for her, since she was usually such a likable person. After all, who could ignore her girlish charm and childlike curiosity? Apparently this boy was immune to such amicable behavior.

Since things weren't going the way she would have liked, Mimi huffed, and continued to tail the young man. He couldn't be much older than she; he may have been tall, but his face gave away his true age. To show her discontent with his reaction - or lack thereof - Mimi scrunched up her nose and furrowed her brow.

"Hey, I was talking to you," she said indignantly. "Didn't you hear me? You know it's rude to just ignore someone like this - especially a lady." Despite her childish nature, Mimi had the audacity to still refer to herself as a "lady." She was certainly looking for trouble by this point.

"Aren't you going to say anything at all?" She pressed on. "Or are you just always this rude? It's not very becoming at all. You could at least have the decency to tell me why you're ignoring me, or just look at me..." Mimi suddenly stopped walking and grabbed hold of the tall boy's arm in an attempt to stop him as well and maybe even get him to turn around and look at her...

Despite the fact that she was a foot shorter then him, she was able to pull him towards her. He listened to her and gave a small smirk, at first it looked like friendly smile, but under those emotionless eyes it was something of evil. He gave a small laugh and looked at the girl head to toe. As a powerful man's son, Hideki had seen many girls interested in talking to him. None of them have ever before tried as hard as she did; it amused him just a little. With the same twisted smile he spoke softly and yet no kind words could be found.

"You call yourself a lady but I see none." He continued with his sassy rich kid voice.

"You ask me to speak but I have nothing to say to the likes of you." His words cold but came so smoothly out of his lips. He wasn't going to let up on her, before she could mutter a word he continued with his harsh words.

"To you I'm considered rude, but to me I find the one rude here is you; for I did not call on you, but instead you treat me like your friend, and yet we have not even exchanged names." Once he had finished his smile vanished and he stood there waiting for her reply.

Mimi knew he stood there, waiting for her to say something. But for once in her life, the words didn't come. She stood there for a few moments, mouth hung open in shock. No one had ever spoken to her like that before! As soon as she could feel her face growing warm, her expression turned from that of shock to anger. At first, she still couldn't say the words she wanted to spew at this young man for humiliating her so. She could only make squeaks and sounds of indignity and frustration.

"Y-You, you...JERK!" she spat out once she found her voice again. "I was just trying to be friendly! You didn't have to be so...so MEAN!" Mimi's face was beet red by this point and she could feel hot tears forming in her eyes and threatening to fall at any moment. Normally in these situations, she tried not to let what people say get to her. But in this situation, she was thrown completely off guard and the boy's cold words had struck a nerve. Still, she wasn't about to burst into tears right in front of him - she wouldn't let him have the satisfaction of making her cry. Instead, she kept her head down to hide her face - which was easy enough, since he was so much taller than her anyway - and closed her eyes tight to force back the tears.

"Fine! I'll just go then, if that's what you want!" With those last words, Mimi took off towards the Viridian Forest. She wanted to be anywhere but there at the moment. Bulbasaur ran after it's trainer, without a second glance at the boy. He had a hard enough time keeping up with her with his short legs, that he didn't have time to give the boy a piece of his mind.

Aisumaru walked into the small patch of grass, determined to level Mistral, named for a cold, dry, North wind, up. A level two pokemon could faint much too easily for his taste. He glanced over at the two trainers, though the male may have been a coordinator, looking at his pokemon. They seemed to be rather caught up in an argument, the girl on the brink of crying and running away, and having no interest in sticking his nose where it didn't belong or having to speak to do so, he simply called out both of his pokemon. As he looked around for a pokemon to battle, Flora sat quietly on the grass, soaking in some of the setting sun's rays, and Mistral started to examine his surroundings, he had never been anywhere other then route one. It didn't take long for him to notice the squabbling pair, and he let out a rather maniacal cross between a laugh and a chirp. He began to fly toward them, only to be stopped by two vines wrapping around him and being pulled against a bulb.

Mistral struggled, though his efforts were in vain. Eventually, Aisumaru spotted a Caterpie, calling Mistral over to battle. Upon hearing the request to fight, Mistral's eyes lit up in a sort of predator-like joy. The Pidgey spread out it's gleaming wings, flying over to the Caterpie and stared at it in a gleeful I'm-going-to-eat-you sort of way. The Caterpie started sweating in fear, and fled quickly. Mistral seemed disappointed, having lost a challeger, but was satisfied when later he beat a different Caterpie, causing him to level up. From there, he beat another Caterpie and two Weedle, leveling up once more.

Aisumaru was caught up in his training, as was Mistral, but Flora watched the drama unfold between the trainer and coordinator. She looked up at the sky, the sun would set soon, and it would be unsafe for the girl to wander into the Viridian forest alone. She reached out a vine, wrapping it around Mimi's wrist gently enough so that she would not be hurt, but firmly enough so that she could feel it and would stop running toward the forest. She gave Aisumaru a "comfort her!" look, gently stroking her back with her other vine.

Aisumaru ignored Flora, turning his attention back to his training. He and Mistral took down a Rattata, leveling Mistral up to level 5. Mistral also learned sand-attack, which, as it turned out, he did not know when Aisumaru caught him.

Aisumaru finally spoke, turning his head around to face her, though his body remained facing the opposite direction. "It's getting dark. I wouldn't suggest going into the forest, especially not by yourself, little girl." He didn't like talking much, yes, but he was raised to be a gentleman, and that he will be...when he feels like it. He flicked an annoying lock of silvery hair that had been hanging in his line of sight, out of the way, before turning his attention to the small bite wound the Rattata had left on Mistral's wing.

Mimi didn't want to stop running, even after she felt the vine gently wrap around her wrist. It did slow her down just a bit and eventually she stopped and fell to her knees. The whole time, she thought it the vine of her Bulbasaur, who was once again comforting her and trying to cheer her up.

"Not now, Bulby," she couldn't help but say. Mimi never did bother to lift her head or look back to see that the vines comforting her were not those of her own Pokemon. "Go back into your pokeball for a while." She spoke softly and her words went unheard. It was only until her own Bulbasaur caught up and approached his upset trainer did she realize her mistake.

Mimi turned to see another Bulbasaur comforting her. It's trainer was nearby, still training his other Pokemon. The whole time she was sitting there, thinking it was her own Bulby comforting her, this boy had said nothing despite the fact that his Bulbasaur had went off on its own toward Mimi.

Soon after Mimi noticed the other boy, he turned his head in her direction and spoke to her, advising her to stay out of the forest. Mimi wasn't exactly in the mood to be taking advice from anyone at the moment, espeically from this young man. His personality seemed somewhat similar to that of the boy that had just made her run away in tears. She wasn't sure if it was because this new trainer here really did have a similar personality, or if it was because she was still upset over the last conversation she had. Either way, Mimi was in no mood to be her normal, friendly self.

"Thanks for the advice," she said curtly, getting up off the ground. She regained her composure and wiped the tears from her face. "But I think I'll take my chances. Come on, Bulby. Let's go." Mimi and Bulbasaur went on into the Viridian Forest, at a much slower pace this time. She was over her little tantrum already, and now she just wanted to vent to herself and Bulby in the quiet solitude of the Viridian Forest.

As she ran off Hideki turned the other way, he decided he didn't want to bother with her any more. He looked at his Caterpie who was happily sleeping in his arm; he didn't understand their bickering so didn't pay attention. Hideki placed Sora on the ground for some more training. He figured it would allow him to blow some steam, he was kind of angry, even though he really didn't have a reason to be. Sora woke up, slightly sleepy but was ready to battle. To there surprise a Weedle came wiggling out of the grass for them to attack. Weedle looked at the Caterpie across it and didn't know how to act. Hideki then decided now was a perfect time to attack. He spoke and Sora took action, with a tackle he knocked the confused Weedle back. Angered it shot a poison sting and hit Sora; Hideki then commanded for another tackle. The Weedle went down and Sora grew one more level. Hideki then returned the pokemon for Sora was slowly running out of hit points. Once in the ball he placed it back on his belt, and pulled Aki out to train for a bit. Aki on the other hand was angry at him and turned her tails to him.

"Don't be mad, I have to train our new pokemon or it'll cause the team to be weak; which makes you weak." He said softly and lifted his Vulpix up who forgave and understood him. He then walked to the nearest tree and sat down under it's branches. It was getting late but Hideki didn't mind the dark. He was upset that he couldn't read to vent his anger out. He instead stroked his Vulpix who in returned rubbed against his cheek in affection. She could sense something was bothering him, but she wasn't out of her ball at the time to figure out what it was.

"That girl was weird and I don't understand why she wanted to talk to the likes of me." He said to the listening Aki who watched him with the big fox eyes she possessed.

"Oh well it's not like we'll cross paths again." He said and sighed after, continuing to show his Vulpix some love.

At this point Hideki was still under the tree he had been sitting under for a while now. He had dozed off a little and so did Aki, both were awoken by something. Hideki didn't care but Aki was on the edge and stared into the forest. He didn't pay much attention to her; he was rubbing crust out of his eyes. She swiftly got out of his arms and jumped onto the ground and started to sprint towards the Virdian Forest.

"Aki! Hey what's gotten into you?" He chased after his pokemon; he was baffled to why she was acting this way. She rarely disobeyed him, he wondered if it was because they hadn't battle in a while. He soon remembered that she wasn't the type to go searching for danger. She quickly went into the dark forest and Hideki followed only able to see her tails behind her.

"Your funeral," Aisumaru shrugged, watching her retreating figure. "Such a young girl really should not be traveling alone, she looks ten or so, twelve at most."

"Pidgey, pidge!" Mistral chirped, gesturing toward his chest and grinning pervertedly. A vine was whipped across his face, attached to an angered Flora, a vein throbbing in her forehead. She was patient, yes, she could have slowly taught the young Pidgey right from wrong, but such perverted remarks was where she drew the line. Mistral whipped his face around, and blue eyes met red in a glaring contest.

Their morals clash...like that of an oldest and youngest child. Mistral is like the youngest one, a troublemaker and looking at the bright side of things. Flora acts responsibly, and always prepares herself for the worst...I need to catch a "middle child" to break up the fights then... Aisumaru noted, eyebrow raised. Deciding to leave his pokemon to sort out their differences on their own, he began to set up camp, setting up a tent and building a small fire. In little to no time at all, the scent of a warm stew started drifting about the route. Leaving his stew to thicken, he started cooking two batches of pokemon food, seasoning one with Rawst berry extract for Flora, who savored the bitter taste. He had yet to know what kind of pokemon food Mistral would like, so left the dough still unbaked, and a pepper, a lemon slice, some herbal tea, a spoonful of sugar, and a slice of dried chesto berry out to determine Mistral's tastes.

When both his stew and Flora's Pokefood was done, Aisumaru looked over at his two pokemon. To his surprise, he saw the duo surrounded by three Rattata, Flora, at full health, standing protectively in front of Mistral, who was on the brink of fainting. He watched as Flora took the Rattata down one at a time, panting heavily by the time she and Mistral were safe. He smiled, genuinely and proudly as Flora and Mistral came over, lured by the scent of the cooking food to fill their empty stomachs.

Mistral was rather saddened at the lack of his own food bowl, taking a piece of pokemon food from Flora, face contorting in utter disgust. Aisumaru, taking note of this, removed the bitter herbal tea from the samples of tastes for Mistral, beckoning the bird-like pokemon over. Mistral at the lemon slice, sugar, and dried chesto berry slice without any squawks of protest or particular joy, but when he reached the pepper, he ate it while jumping up and down for joy, turning around to as Aisumaru for more.

Aisumaru added information in his journal under the entry he had made on Mistral, jotting down Mistral's food preferences, and from that, determined that he had a naughty nature. He then made Mistral's Pokefood, adding in some extract of Cheri berries. Mistral ate the food happily, so Aisumaru turned his attention back to his own hunger. He took a sip of his stew, writing a new entry down in his journal for the day. When the sun fell under the horizon and darkness engulfed the route, Aisumaru and his pokemon climbed into the tent, fire dying and sleep prowling through the darkness and claiming them.
