Laptop Guitar Rig

Ok so I do a lot of different music related things such as play guitar and mix music so I wanted to get a laptop dedicated to just my music. It would have Fruity Loops of course and I'd want to use it as my Guitars Amp as well as Effects. Any Laptop suggestions? Or sites related to the task?

A laptop would simply not be suited to that task, it lacks the necessary inputs and hardware options for that sort of thing. I would recommend getting this and slapping it all into a desktop. That front panel is PERFECT for what you're doing. If i've looked at some of the reviews correctly, you can plug your guitar directly into that front panel and record it.

it looks cool, and I might actually do that, but i'm really looking for a more portable solution. with school and work I don't spend a lot of time at home so I figured I would practice at school and work.

A mac would be good. It also has Garage Band so that may help you out some. But u would have to find a way to plug in all your stuff as well.

My workmate was recommending getting an M-Box to fit my Macbook Pro. It's gonna burn about US$3k if you decide to do just that.

not sure if it would really work but you could try getting some 1/2 to 3/4 or down to like a 3/8 inch jack rig up a little extra power sourceans try finding one that has a line in or mic jack then get a file like acid or aducity. I plan on seeing if I can rig up a mini studio after i get a much better computer then I can test out my own theory will coust about extra 2 to 3 hundered over price of the laptop
