A few months ago, I recieved some (belated, but good) shipment of recorded DVDs and Videos of animes that I wanted to see, or wanted to continue watching. One of them, that was sent to me (thanks to my mom's terminally ill friend crying ) was a sentai called 'Gransazer'.

Explanation about the series can be found here:

(Japanese site, Official): http://www.tv-tokyo.co.jp/anime/gransazers/

(English site): http://www.scifi-japanmedia.com/Gransazer1.html

Well....unfortunetly, when me and my siblings watched it (especially my little sister), we were...laughing on the floor. sweatdrop
I sort of couldn't take this one seriously as I had with the other sentai series that I watched...maybe because the actors are pretty new (they need some work on their acting skills...really...), the characters who became the Sazers didn't seem to have any connection at all to each other (a Mail Deliverer, Police Officer, some normal teenagers, a fashion designer, etcc...), plus, them coming together was pretty quick....
Plus, stunts are done by stunt-doubles (and, they do a pretty good job of the fight scenes).

Their 'Chou senshis' (the Tribes individual mechas, based on thier element) are neat looking, but....when they come together....the head is the only thing that looks decent ><;

Aahhh~! Of all the sentais I watch, why can't I not enjoy this one?! cry

From what I saw of the series, I thought it was pretty well done coming from a company that wasn't Toei...Who did create Gransazar? ToHo? Seen some of the newest independent sentai, Justirisers. The special effects aren't the greatest but like nearly every toku I like as long as the actual combat is well done I can overlook a small budget.

I wouldn't consider them a part of the Sentai series (sicne Super Sentai is copywritten). But they are from ToHo. Same company who made Cyber Cop a few years back.

Yeah they're not an actual Super Sentai but I have no idea what else to call them. Just a team?

Didn't ToHo also make Guyferd?

Yeah, they made Guyferd as well. And I wouldn't call them anything else. They don't really fall into a series (yet).

Yep, ToHo made them (I was pretty surprised myself...). Aired on Tv Tokyo in the mornings I know...

Ish, if I didn't have a little sister or a brother also watching this, and making jokes about it, I probably would have been enjoying it. sweatdrop

The mechas are cool-looking anyway (yeah, I love animals, sure me ><; ), just that I was a little...ummm...'confused' about why (when all 4 of them combine) has the whale's head for a hand?? (Would've been cool if they made a shield out of it).

Go Leviathan~! razz

I'll have to be honest... without TvN, I would never have been able to see this. In my opinion, if I hadn't seen this... it would have been a shame and a half.

Personally, I loved everything about GS... even though I've still got one more episode to watch. Sure, it didn't have the same level of acting talent as some other shows but I think it did really well. The comment made about bringing them together a little quickly, I really don't think there was a lot of time to bring in characters any other way. I mean, you've got twelve core heroes to fit into fifty-one episodes. A new character every other episode would have taken you almost halfway through the series schedule.

On the flipside, as much as I enjoyed Tenma... having him as THE core for every episode was somewhat disappointing, even though his importance was recognised from episode one.

All in all, I think GS is awesome. :3

I've only seen the first 2 eps of Gransazer but I was quite impressed. Now if only the torrent for episode 3 would get more seeders so I could finish downloading it that would help greatly.

I liked the armor designs of the Sazers, particularly the Water Tribe ones, but Ai's (Pisces) weapon was a water gun? That's another erroneous stunt but in Gaia, it's plausible!
