The mixed-blood wyrm stared out at the deluge from the safety of a small cavern and snorted smoke. "You're nuts," he informed the miniature creature who was sitting outside, face tilted back to the sky. Where, the tall wyrm wanted to know, was the appeal in getting soaked? Still, he'd always known his bonded was crazy; this little display was just a little more evidence of the slim gnome's tenuous grasp on sanity.
The grey skinned bard sighed long-sufferingly at his friend's words, a slight smile creeping over his face. "You wouldn't understand," he chuckled after a moment with a shake of his head. Opening his dark eyes, he swivelled around on the rock he perched on to face his purple-hided friend so as better to address him. "Having flames all down your back, I imagine, makes rain unpleasant. I on the other hand enjoy it when I know I can get warm afterwards."
Angetenar rolled his ruddy eyes at the blond-haired biped. "Wow, y' think? Fire plus water equals no fun? Nice observation there genius." Utterly and completely cuckoo; two foot four of no common sense at all. “You know it’s a wonder you ever survived long enough to meet me,” the fire and dark creature teased with a throaty chuckle.
The palely coloured gnome quirked an eyebrow and sleeked some water out of his sodden hair. "Love you too Tenar," he replied with a crooked smile as he closed his eyes again and turned his face back to catch the huge soft drops of water once more.

(Is it night time or day time?)
Alaois reared his small head when the patter of rain woke him from his sleep up top a tree. His blood eyes widened when he felt the fresh feeling wind brush against his scales. This caused him to finally relieve all the stress the small dragon had.
A small gleem shimmered in the water wyrm's eyes as he uncoiled his long body. As the rain hit his glittering blue scales he gave a shiver, enjoying every moment. He slithered down the tree to the ground and slipped out from the trees into the open sky, water dripping onto him and running off his rough skin.
The ground was soft and moist under his body weight as he shifted out more into the open. His body left a ditch to indicate his trail, crushing the green grass into the mud. Alaois smiled if possible, a rare sight for the hatchingly as he never seemed to enjoy himself anymore. But he always loved the rain and the story that Lsorir told was that he hatched while it was raining.
The more that Alaois slithered along the closer he could hear muffled voices. Someone else was out here...

((Probably evening ^^))
Angetenar snorted more smoke and shook his head. "Yea, whatever you say Bee." His affection for the blond was a given of course but for some reason it was never easy to verbally express it. The dark-eyed mage told him that it was something most males suffered from and not to worry but it was still annoying that he couldn't.
The striped hybrid sighed to himself and brought his head down to rest on his forefeet, ruddy eyes staring out at the rain and the encroaching night.
The blond snorted at him in return, though it was decidedly less impressive coming from the small biped and shook his head. "Sometimes I wonder if I did you a bad turn Tenar," he commented with a slight smile and a shake of his head. "I think without my intervention you would have grown up to be a very well adjusted male. As it is however you seem to feel the need to emulate my soft traits and my need to always put how I feel into words. I can tell that I matter to you by virtue of what we are, thus removing the need to express it aloud. This, I feel, is one of the great benefits of such a bond."
Well, that and the fact that he was never alone anymore, had somebody big and scary to growl at the people that might otherwise attempt to inconvenience one as small as himself and the banter and... Well it was just a good thing in general, better to cut himself off in thought there before he rambled on to himself for hours on end and became utterly unaware of his surroundings.
The tall wyrm chuckled softly at his bonded's thoughts, the corners on his moth turning up in a smile. "Don't worry," he said aloud, his smile widening, "I'll be sure to tell you if a bear starts sneaking up on you."
The blond sorcerer smiled faintly in response to his draconic friend's assurance-tease. "How very generous of you," he replied mildly, lounging back on the rock as he spoke and folding his hands behind his head.

The young wyrm coiled himself around a tree and glanced out. He could feel the fibers of the tree bark rub against his scales as he lurched his body against it. Some of the wood splintered and tried to stick it's way into his hide but the scales created an air-tight barrier keeping him safe from penetration.
Alaois lunged his body forward to get a better look at where the two voices were coming from. Water dripped down his skull and snout, some blinkling falling into his eyes but he hardly seemed to notice. By this point his curiousity had completely taken over him.
"Curiousity did kill the cat you know." Came a voice from behind that did all but give the wyrm a heart attack. A smirk came from the being's lips as he stood but a yard from his bonded, nearly grinning ear from ear at his young dragon's start.
Alaois growled, his upper lip pulling back to reveal a row of razor sharp teeth. I'm not a cat. Nor do I have any wish to be. He retorted, hoping to stand the being in the human body down but he didn't budge at all.
"No no.. of course not." He chuckled at the dry sense of humor that the wyrm held. "I was merely stating the fact." Lsorir drove his head back and around the trunk to catch sight of the other wyrm and his bonded. "Ah.. they seem like an interesting match, no? Should we say hi?"
Alaois snapped out with his jaw to catch the back end of Lsorir's vest but was too late. Whatever this man was he was quick and didn't leave room for the wyrm to cause error. This made Alaois growl as Lsorir was already out in the open where the other pair could see. The damn thing had a mind of his own which Alaois couldn't control...

The flicker of movement caught Angetenar's eye and the purple wyrm raised his head to study the man who had just popped into view. "Well," the hybrid commented to his bonded, "it's not a bear but we do have company." So far the biped, a human he thought, seemed unthreatening but one could never be too careful... Still, no call to be abrasive. "I guess you'd better introduce us to him, hadn't you?" the large creature sent to his tiny bonded, who had just sat upright on his rock and opened his eyes.
Beetle, feeling quite pleased with himself for not jumping out of his skin at his wyrm's casual warning, smiled up at the tall biped before him. "Greetings stranger," he began, climbing to his feet and wishing he were a little taller than two foot four. "My name is Ningle Beetle-eye Whittleweed, generally known as Beetle but if you'd rather think of something else to call me please feel free. That charming fellow lurking in there is my friend Angetenar and I generally call him Tenar."
Was he coming off as a pretentious freak again? Probably. Damn. Why couldn't he just talk like a normal person? What was wrong with 'hello'? Bother. Well nothing to be done about it now. "Would you care to join us? It's coming on to a bad night to be without shelter." He'd probably talked too much, he always seemed to talk too much. Try for something a bit more normal before this man, whoever he was, became convinced that he was in the presence of the biggest prat ever to live.
"We've a fire inside and water boiling if you'd like a hot drink," the gnome offered with a smile, sleeking his hair back out of his face and gesturing to the cavern still occupied by Angetenar.
The striped wyrm gave a mental chuckle and gave his bonded a light poke. "Don't worry so much" he instructed, "I expect he's a perfectly nice guy, and if he's not then I can lightly toast his arse and send him on his way."
"Yea," the wyrm said aloud after a moment or two, "there's plenty of space in here, feel free."

At the greeting Lsorir's chocolate colored eyes seemed to hold a warmth to them, shining a vibrant color of brown as he lurched his body over in a sweeping bow, one hand curled over his stomach while the other stayed poised behind his back. "I am Lsorir Gahinor. And this fellow is my wyrm, Alaois."
The very name of Gahinor could reveal a lot about the strange man if one knew the story behind his origin. Up in the hills stood a strange stone building, at least three stories high. Some rumors were of it being haunted, but the truth was that it belonged to a religious sect known as the Vehren. Losrir's whole family had dedicated themselves to the Vehren and were known as one of the wealthiest of the religious clans. Of course, Lsorir's clothing would show exactly that. He was dressed in a fine silk white shirt, covered by a long black coat more suitable for the rain that was taylored in gold thread. He wore white gloves over his hands with nicely taylored pants and boots. He hadn't seemed to care at all that they were items unsuitable for hiking or wet weather but seemed rather comfortable in them and the surroundings he was in.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Beetle, and you as well Angetenar." He gave a genuine smile, already liking the small man before him though he was yet to gather feelings about the wyrm. "You'll have to forgive Alaois.. he's a bit grumpy today and rather shy." Hardly you pretensious... Alaois began to a point where only he and his bonded could hear but stopped short when Lsorir's eyes glared at him from where Alaois was hiding in the trees. Lsorir smirked and in that moment decided to spite his bonded in a way that he knew would cause Alaois to regret those words. "We would love to join you Beetle if you would have us?" He lowered his head though not anywhere near as deep as a bow as when they had introduced each other.

Angetenar groaned internally. "Wow," he sent to his bonded, "looks like you found a friend there, hu? He talks as showy as you." For all his teasing, the mixed blood wyrm was pleased by the tall humanoid's attitude and showed as much with a smile and a slight bob of his head. It seemed to be far too seldom that his bonded was able to relax into his distinctly upper class patterns of speech and mannerisms without drawing sneers or raised eyebrows.
The grey-skinned bard smiled broadly and returned the bow. "We would be delighted Lsorir; company is always welcome and company of other wyrms and wrym-bondeds doubly so." Gahinor... he was sure he'd heard that name somewhere before. Well, no matter who the man's kin were; he seemed friendly and for that alone he deserved to be considered by his given name rather than by the name of his family.
"Please, do come in," the blond went on after a moment, hopping down from his rock and gesturing for his guests to enter the cave before him. Taking in Lsorir's attire in more detail, the grey-skinned man couldn't help but being to feel somewhat disheveled. Here he was standing around in worn leather britches, scuffed boots and a sodden white cotton shirt and there was the larger man in silk and gold. Well at least the shirt was new, he supposed...
Though the forest gnome's sudden uncertainty didn't show outwardly, Angetenar felt the pang of worry ring along their connection and sent a wave of reassurance back down the line. "Relax, will y'?" he added, "if you could afford stuff like that and wore it in the wilds it'd get ruined and I know you'd hate that even if you were made of money. Besides, he doesn't seem to care now does he? You can talk the talk and all that, what does it matter if you aren't dressed quite like he is? If I've said it once I've said it a million times; you worry too much. He'll like you, I'm sure he will." He hoped so at any rate, last thing he wanted to have to deal with was several days feeling little from his bonded but unhappiness tinged with self-loathing over the words or actions of some rich nob.
Beetle sighed internally at his wyrm friend's words, still easily keeping a pleasant expression on his face as he waited for the tall man and his wyrm friend to act. "I hope so, Tenar." Probably more than was healthy. Being liked and accepted was not the be all and end all, and if he'd told himself that once he'd told himself a million times. Still, for now everything was going alright and Tenar was right, Lsorir wasn't looking askance at him or anything. After taking a moment or two to consider this the bard found himself able to relax and look forward to the encounter once more, feelingly mildly smug for managing to stifle his paranoia before it got too far.

Lsorir took the offer gratefully, however, Alaois was more hesitant on the matter, lurking in the trees even long after Lsorir had obliged to the offer. "I thank you both for your hospitality." He gave a genuine smile as he emerged into the cave, taking off his coat as he draped it over his arm.
"So why don't you both tell me a little about yourself? I love hearing about stories." Lsorir tucked his coat away into a corner and sat down on a rock, squeezing water from his snow white hair as he looked at the two of them with a deep interest. If he had noticed Beetle's uneasiness he hadn't seemed to care. They both seemed like good company to him, even if his wyrm was being a prat. Alaois' tail flicked back and forth when he saw the man enter the cave. He gave a low growl out of his throat as he moved his thick body down from the tree and rummaged through the water soaked ground. Mud was pushed up and forced out of the way as his body drove a tunnel along the ground, caking up the earth against his scales. Alaois' deep eyes shifted to glance into the cave as the three spoke but he still refused to enter.
((xD Sorry it sucks so badly.))

Angetenar grinned at the well-dressed man as he entered the cave. "We'd love to," he chuckled, clambering to his feet and padding over to the large kettle of water set over the fire. "Talking is one of our most favorite things, isn't it Bee?" he commented as he stooped to remove the lid with his mouth. Not for the first time, he wished vaguely that he possessed opposable thumbs to do the task with.
The bard quirked an eyebrow at his wyrm friend and, deciding that Lsorir's companion wasn't coming inside right away, he stepped in out of the rain. "Don't say most favorite Tenar," he instructed as he dashed water from his face, "it's not good grammar. Still," the gnome went on, dropping down onto the cave floor and folding himself neatly into a lotus, "bad grammar or not my scaled companion is correct; we do love to talk. Especially me."
So, what to tell the tall man? If left to his own devices the blond knew himself to be capable of rambling for hours on any given subject. Best not to bombard his guest with too much information right away, perhaps. "Tenar, why don't you talk first?" the bard suggested after a moment, "I'll sort out the tea while you talk." So saying, the small creature clambered back to his feet and moved over to the pack that he recalled storing the fragrant herbs away in last he'd used them.
Angetenar nodded his agreement and dropped back down onto the cave floor. "Well," he began, frowing thoughtfully, "my full name's Angetenar Eridanus, my clan name comes from my father Achernar and he's where I got my dark blood from. My mother's a fire, as you probably figured, and she's... she's Special." The ruddy-eyed wyrm chuckled to himself and shook his head. "To be frank she's a raving psycho and when I was little, she and I really didn't get on. I left the family as soon as I thought I was old enough to cope on my own, I guess I was about the age your friend out there is now. Didn't do much of interest for a while, but eventually I met blondie over there and life got a bit more interesting."
It was odd to think that back then the two of them had been more or less on eye level with one another. How things did change. "So, thanks to him I guess I got to be pretty good with bipeds and not so great with my own sort. Still, you guys are more fun in my opinion so that's all good." That seemed like enough information for now, the hybrid decided, and his bonded was returning from setting the tea to make anyway.
The blond smiled faintly as his wyrm friend finished speaking and dropped to the floor by the large creature's side, shuffling backwards in order to lean back against the part fire's warm flank. He hadn't realised how cold he'd got until he felt the heat of his friend's scales began to seep through his soaked shirt and a brief shiver ran through his small body, causing the gnome to nestle closer to Angetenar and wish the tea would hurry up and steep.
"Right," the dark-eyed man said after a moment, rubbing his chilled hands over one another, "my turn eh?" He hadn't really thought about what to say but this didn't trouble him overmuch; talking was one thing that he knew he was good at.
"Well," the blond began, feeling himself relax further as the words lined themslves up neatly in his head, "for most of my life I've been a bard dabbling in sorcery but lately it seems to be the other way around." A wry smile crept onto the grey-skinned creature's face and he shook his head slightly. "I made the mistake, you see, of deciding that I needed to learn more about and hone the magic I gained along with adolescence. At the time, this seemed like a wonderful idea; I must say I rather imagined that the wizard's guild would be a hive of innovation, packed full of fine minds and intelligent debate. As it turned out however, a lot of the time it's rather dull and mostly full of old windbags telling me how much better things were in their day."
The elegantly built man arched an eyebrow and gave Lsorir a smirk. "I of course find it highly amusing when the people telling me these things are barely a decade older than myself. I'm a forest gnome you see and we mature slowly; live a long time, too." A lot longer than wyrms. "So, in any case," the bard-sorcerer went on before that thought could take hold, "since I became a member of the league of extraordinarily boring old men, and women come to that, Tenar and I have been bounced about the countryside on errands various most of which seem to have little if any connection to my studies whatsoever. As you can imagine, this has impressed me greatly."
The purple-hided wyrm rumbled his agreement. "Yea," he clarified, "that's what we're doing at the moment actually. Sent off into the rain and the wind and all the rest of the awfulness of autumn to collect some smelly mushrooms for a smellier potion brewer. Apparently Bee was picked for this singular honor because he's got 'a speedy scale brain' to make sure the wizened old idiot gets his funguses nice and fresh."
"It's fungi, Tenar," Beetle put in helpfully, "one fungus, many fungie. Anyway. I feel we've talked you to death enough for now Lsorir; would you care to take a turn at telling?" He hoped the white-haired man did; it would be interesting to find out what such a finely dressed man was doing out in the wilds without an entourage beyond his wyrm friend.
((XD It doesn't suck; sorry for the excessive length btw. Beetle likes talking XD))
