Prologue…
“Rock! You’ve gotten lucky before, but today’s the day I destroy you!”
A familiar voiced called suddenly in the large Ferra City. The blue bomber turned quickly on his heels to see that the voice belonged to none other than Forte. He raised his buster quickly to aim at Forte.
“Forte! I don’t want to fight you! Can’t we please find peace? Why must we fight!? We’re both robots aren’t we?”
Forte scoffed. “Why should I find peace with you? I’ll kill you, then I’ll be the strongest robot on the earth!” He aimed his Forte Buster at Rock.
And so the fight began. Forte dashed at Rock who slid at him with his slide technique. Forte barely dodged and turned to fire multiple shots at Rock. The blue robot was hit only once by a shot to his side but managed to dodge the rest. His arm began to glow and he fired his charged shot as Forte, catching his buster.
“Rah! You’ll pay for that Rock!”
He suddenly pulled off his buster, revealing the weak armor that rested within. The buster began to glow and Forte flung it at Rock. Not expecting such a move, Rock was hit, and Forte’s buster exploded on his own. Rock was mostly undamaged, but his Buster could no longer fire. The two robots were left with only there bare hands it seemed.
“Gospel! Come to me!” Forte commanded.
“Rush! Come here boy!”
Suddenly from the north and the south two beams rushed at the robots. In front of Forte was a purple wolf robot. The wolf began to glow before fusing with Forte. Meanwhile, in front of Rock, a red dog robot appeared. It began to fuse with Rock at around the same time Gospel fused with Forte.
“Let’s see you win now, Rock!”
Forte rose into the air. He rushed at Rock, and began to use the Gospel Gun to fire at Rock. Rock flew up, dodging the bullets fairly well. He fired shots from the Rush Buster, but his shots were dodged.
As they fought on, carried in the wind, was a familiar whistle. The two robots stopped to find Blues standing on a rooftop.
“Forte, Rock. Knock it off.” Blues commanded. “Something is going on in Gamma City! Wiley’s built a new lab, but something is emitting some intense power!
The three robots suddenly turned there attention to a screen. A news bot began to describe an accident involving the lab that recently popped up.
“What? Damn that old man! Why didn’t he call me!?” Forte cursed.
“Blues, we have to get over there, fast!”
As Rock pleaded with blues, a chopper rose from behind Blues and whirred like a hungry beast. Blues nodded and the two robots began to fly after Blues and his chopper. In about a half hour they arrived at the city and in another half hour, the lab.
“It’s been ripped inside out almost!” Blue said as he saw the destruction. From the rubble, rose a strange machine. It opened a hatch on it’s top, and out crawled Wily.
“What have you done old man!?” Forte demanded of him.
“Rock… Forte… I-I’ve created a monster. A robot I cannot control… His power… I cannot stop it.. It is too powerful.” Wily began to explain.
Suddenly a massive blast erupted from behind them. It obliterated Wily instantly, leaving only a burn mark where his body was. From a large pile of ruble emerged a strange red robot. It had long blonde hair, Z marks on his great shoulders, and looked like a very powerful new robot, somewhat similar to Bass.
“Who’s that girly looking robot?” Forte asked.
“I have no idea but.. I get this strange feeling…” Rock whispered.
“Who are you!?” Blues shouted to the machine. Robots had sunk low… But hurting a defenseless human being?
The robot glared at them, a W shining in the gem on it’s forehead. “My name… Is Zero! I am the one who will bring about the robot revolution. No more humans will pollute our world my brethren!” The robot spoke in a cold menacing voice.
“You’re full of it pal. I’m getting’ rid of you before you cost me any more of my time.” Forte snarled.
He dashed at Zero, who easily side stepped the charging robot. He jumped into the air, and dashed in mid jump, before suddenly pulling out a strange weapon. The green light it released cut through Forte’s wings bringing him to the ground. He prepared to fire a shot, but was suddenly hit in the gut by Zero’s knee. The speed he possessed was incredible. Zero raised his Z-Buster at Forte’s face and unleashed a massive shot that glowed blue with red circling flames.
“Humph. And now…” The robot spoke coldly again.
“Rock, get outta here, go!” Blues shouted.
“Do you really think letting one renegade robot will stop anything!? Ha! You’ll both suffer the same fate as your friend!” Zero yelled.
He was prepared to fire at Rock. The blast seemed to cause smoke to rise where Rock was just a second ago. As the dust cleared, Zero smirked but then frowned. Blues had used his shield to make the blast explode early, letting Rock get away easily enough.
“You…. You’re a dead man!” Zero screamed.
Meanwhile…
Rock arrived at Dr. Right’s lab. He ran to the Doctor and was in shock. In a tube was a strange robot that looked identical to Rock Man. But it was missing many parts and seemed more… Unique.
“Dr. Right!”
“I know Rock… Zero has been awakened…”
“But how…”
“Wily called for help. I began to work on this project I had started shortly after you saved the world with Duo and Forte. His name is Rock Man X. And he will be the one to stop Zero.”
But as Dr. Light worked on Rock Man X, Zero continued his rampage, until one day came, months after Zero’s release.
“Rock…” Called Dr. Right.
Rock ran to the Doctor’s voice. To his shock and fear, Roll was laying beside him, severely damaged. The marks appeared to be from beam saber technology. It was Zero…
“No… Roll! My sister…” Rock said as he watched the little robot look into his eyes.
“Rock… I… I was just trying… To help Dr. Right…” She said quietly.
“It’s okay Roll!” Rock said with a tremble in his voice. “Doctor Right can-“
“No Rock… My circuits are too burned.. And my injuries to great…”Roll said.
Doctor Right looked down, a tear dripping to the floor.
And so it was the end of Roll. Enraged, Rock set out to help the Doctor finish his project.
One year passed. Zero had quieted down, showing u only where large amounts of robots stirred. In Dr. Rights Lab, Rock sat alone.
“He took Roll… He took Forte, and Blues…” He mumbled. But now his time is up… Rock Man X…”
Suddenly, as Rock spoke quietly, the building began to rumble. There were explosions as suddenly Zero busted the door open. He smirked seeing Rock all alone.
“At last we meet again. Rock.” Zero said with a large sting of hatred in his voice.
“Zero… You’ll pay for-“ Suddenly Zero was behind him, holding him in a choke hold.
“I’ll pay for what?” He smirked. He let Rock go and watched as he took a battle stance.
The fight began and ended so quickly. Rock charged his buster and fired. Zero slapped the shot with his saber. It rushed back and before Rock knew it, the shot had hit his ‘heart’.
Zero walked toward him smirking. “Now that you’re done with, I believe I’ll go finish what I started. Good bye… Rock Man.”
And so Zero’s reign continued for some time… But it would not last forever.
“At last… You’re finally finished, X…” Dr. Right said sickly. The old man was far too tired and old, yet he had finished what he and Rock had worked so hard on.
He hit a button and watched as a capsule opened. From it stepped a large blue machine. But he was no normal robot. He possessed the abilities to think, to feel, to make decisions… He had created a reploid, the first of his kind.
“Dr. Right…” X said quietly.
“X… My time on this planet is up… Please… As a dieing old man’s wish… Stop the robot names Zero… bring peace to humanity.”
X looked at the old man. He placed a hand on Dr. Rights shoulder. “Dr. Right. I am X. I will fight for peace! For a world where machines and man can live together! I’ll stop this Zero, no matter what!”
X watched as Dr. Right smiled. He assisted him to a bed where Dr. Right layed. That would become his death bed so very soon. X dashed out of the room and out of the remains of the lab.
Zero smirked as he watched a child cry over his mother’s body. “Humph. Good bye, you worthless human.” He began to charge his buster and fired.
The child never stood a chance. Zero laughed maniacally. He turned to walk away, when suddenly there was a flash of blue light. Before was one as large and powerful as himself.
“Another robot? Ah… So you’ve come to join me in my conquer-“
A shot suddenly rushed past him. Zero stared amazed at the robot’s power. He was covered from head to toe in a strange white and blue armor. Zero snarled and rushed at X swinging his saber. He smirked as he hit the robot sending it to the ground, but X hopped to his feet. He dashed, and suddenly appeared behind Zero. He landed a kick to the robot sending it forwards into a pile of rubble.
“My name… is Rock Man X. Zero, your days of torturing human kind is over.”
“We’ll see about that pal.” Zero said as he rose from the ruble.
The two reploids fought. For every hit Zero landed, it appeared as though X hand landed six! Finally things were pushed too far, and the two reploids felt their limit approaching.
“Rah! Die damn you!” Zero screamed.
He charged at X and slashed at him. The blue reploid could not dodge. His white helmet and chest armor fell off. X snarled and fired a semi charged shot at Zero. The blue beam knocked the saber away, and into the dirt. They dashed again, knocking X’s buster armor off and his dash boots, but disabled Zero’s as well. For hours more they fought, relying on tanks of strange energy they threw away as they fought. At last it came to a draw. X glared at Zero who was dripping with a strange red energy fluid. X too dripped the energy fluid. X charged his buster as did Zero. They fired at each other, both connecting.
When the dust settled, Zero was in terrible shape. His legs would not function and his buster arm was paralyzed. Seeing that he could not find X he smirked.
“Hah… I knew… I’d win.” Zero mumbled.
But to his surprise, X was standing a few yards away. What had saved him… Was a chunk of the building next to them that had fallen, although X was greatly damaged none the less.
X charged a shot. He fired at Zero while Zero’s forehead began to glow. When the dust settled, nothing remained. X smiled proudly. He had defeated Zero. The reploid teleported in a beam of light back to Dr. Right’s lab. He was too late to tell the doctor. His lifeless body lay limp on the bed he was left.
X walked to a large capsule, the one he had been left in. He stepped into it, hitting a few keys on the outside. “I’ve completed my task… Now I may rest along with the Doctor. May I awake to a happy world…” X said smiling.
However… Things were not done. In a beam of red light, Zero appeared where Dr. Wiley’s lab once stood. He crawled carefully and grunted as he did.
“X… I’ll get you for this… You enjoy you’re time while you can… Because when my maintenance is done… I’m going to find you and kill you…”
Zero had crawled into a room with several capsules. A room Zero purposely left untouched. He entered one and typed on the key board just outside of the pod.
Both capsules closed simultaneously. The two reploids were put to rest. But… What future awaited them?
“Rock! You’ve gotten lucky before, but today’s the day I destroy you!”
