Is it good to crack your fingers before you play guitar? Especially the left hand? I do it all the time, and i was just wondering.

I don't know, really. I know people say that if you crack your knuckles you get arthritis, but that's actually an old wives tale.

Its a release of building up fluid in your joints. It's not going to be detrimental, but I don't think that its terribly benificial either.
---On another note I got a forward copy of the foo fighters album--- Appologies about that but I couldn't find anywhere else to put it and I've got to share it with someone.... /Sigh...

It's not exactly bad, but it loosens your fingers.
I think its when it starts to hurt, then you should stop.
And the more you move your fingers, the more they will losen and crack anyway.

You should do some finger exercises. They'll make your fingers a lot looser without actually harming you. Of course it's probably better if you play the piano, but I'm sure doing this for a guitar is just as helpful.
