I want to know people's opinions on this, and I thought this would be the place, though no one will probably read this....Ever....Ah well. It may happen. Please tell me what you think. I wrote this last year.
In the calm forest of pine trees and others types, with golden, brown, and blood red leaves and pine needles covering the forest floor, a young girl sat alone on a tall, slanted hill that would not be much to climb. She wore a tattered, torn, and faded white dress, which had once been elegant and pure. Her brown, shoulder lengthed hair covered her face, her legs pulled up to her torso and her arms covering them, her light cries and sobs muffled. The rain barely touched her, giving her pity. Leiria was her name, she remembered, and she silently looked up, tears still streaming down her face.
What had happened to this poor creature was a mystery, even to her. A crow perched on the arm-like pine branches above her. It called out to her, and she turned her head to stare at it. Leiria's eyes widened as it called to her again, soon getting up. "I did not do a thing!" she screamed at the top of her little lungs, and it kept its beady eyes locked on her, then it hawked once more. She screamed, "Stop accusing me!" then took off running.
Leiria did not stop, even as she felt the crow following her. She ran past at a bridge, rain pelting it madly. The little girl soon tripped on a fallen, rotting tree, and began to cry again. As she looked around for a way to escape, the pitch black feathered crow, perched on another tree. Leiria panicked, quickly getting up and running. Although her legs were now aching, she could not stop. The image of that crow catching her, devouring her alive, made her thoughts run wild, and soon she could no longer control herself.
As she passed trees, she felt like they were reaching out to her, trying to stop her or kill her. Their prickly arms almost caught her, but she managed to escape. Soon, she was too weary to continue, and found an old, hollow tree. It had mushrooms and fungi growing in and on it, and looking like it was struck by lighting. She found a way to get inside the tree, ignoring the slimy fungi and wet surroundings. Leiria ducked down until she knew the crow could not see her, and waited. As she had predicted, the crow soon perched near the old tree, calling out to her. It was then silent, and she heard the crow move, soon seeing its beady black eyes peering at her from the tree she was in. Her scream shook the trees and sent icy chills down humans' spines.
Leiria's minds flashed to her being devoured by the crow, soon losing the little control she had regained. She found an old tree limb from underneath her and swung it at the crow. Her eyes went wide when the branch passed through the black-feathered fiend's body. Now frozen with fear, the crow got closer to her, and then froze. Deafening silence took over, neither of them moving a muscle. The crow hawked more loudly than any other time, making the little girl close her eyes. Finally, she was able to move, and she got out of the tree and ran, stumbling.
As she slowed down, her heart racing, she neared an old village. She ventured in, looking behind her. Although she did not see the crow, she knew in her soul it was watching her, waiting for the moment to strike her down. The wind blew the cold rain in her face, forcing her to look away. Leiria saw a house and entered, seeing a family of three, just like she used to have. They smiled at her, welcoming her over to them, and she joined them. The little girl felt something eerie about them, but ignored this feeling for the first time, and began to eat the meal they had on the table. As she finally was able to relax, she began to recall what had happened to her. She sighed of pure relief, her eyes closing.
DC-Can it be resurrected...?
