Hello all, I'm having a lot of trouble getting a gold trophy for the All Cup Tour with 150cc in Mario Kart Double Dash. Do any of you have some suggestions to help me out? It seems like more than 50% of getting a gold trophy is shear luck rather than skill, and it's really demoralizing to get creamed by a computer!

Do you have Toad and Toadette? If so, use them. They are quite good.
I also believe in luck over skill. xp

Hmm Toad and Toadette...but wouldn't they get knocked all over the place by the heavyweight characters? Or do you suggest pairing them with a heavy character so you can put them in one of the massive cars? Not spinning out from hitting other players is good.

Actually, I tried Frost_Shooter's suggestion and I got a gold cup on the first try. I think a large part of it was just luck, but getting a golden mushroom after spinning out really helps you catch up.
My winning pair were Yoshi and Toadette in Birdo's kart. I haven't had as much success with them on Mirror Mode, but that's probably because I used up all of my luck unlocking Mirror Mode in the first place xp
I'd still like to hear other people's suggestions about getting through Double Dash, though. And good luck to Gothic Muffia biggrin

Heavies are best. If you made it htis far, you probaby won't have to worry about crashing as much, so you can use that top speed and bash anyone that gets any silly ideas about winning. Oh, and even if you get 6th in a race, if there's even a 1% chacne of winning in hte long run, run with it.

I'm STILL looking...I wish that people who make guides wouldn't elaborate SOOOO much scream !!! It's okay to put a joke here or there, but I swear sometimes it's down-right impossible to get a simple answer!!!
Btw, Congrats on winning biggrin !!!

My friend and I, when we went through our Mario Kart Double Dash phase, did the All Cup thing on the highest level and kept working at it and working at it until we got it. It was tough, and I do believe that sometimes it IS luck, because you could be flooring it and the 2nd place person could still screw you over. Also, we've found out something during any round that pissed us off into making a theory that comes into play too many times: "Screw up once, you're screwed forever."
