Title: In My World
Rating: 12+
Author: Crystalline_Light
Summary: I was the Malfoy family's most well kept secret. Their secret daughter, never seen in public, always in the shadows. My father hated me, I was the first born. A daughter, nonetheless. His personal preference of boys seemed to blind him of the fact that I was indeed a Malfoy and his daughter. He was supposed to love me, but in his eyes, a girl wasn't good enough to be the heir to the family fortune.

[[A/N: Well, here it is. Four years of rejected idiot ideas, finally settling on this one. Please, please let me know what you think.]]

I was the Malfoy family's most well kept secret. Thank god for Lucius Malfoy, Narcissa had produced twins, Draco and I, Dracen. My father was determined to get rid of me. After 3 and a half years, he came to a brilliant conclusion...

When I was 4, I was sent away to live with an aunt, while daddy dearest modified my brother and mother's memories. At my dearest aunt's house, I was being treated as a princess, as a Malfoy should- forgive me, my arrogance got the best of me. As I was saying, I was being treated like royalty. I suppose she wanted me to leave my traumatizing past behind. She was kind to me up until I started blowing things up.

The idea of magic startled her- her being a Squib and all. When I got an acceptance letter to Hogwarts, she immediately told Dumbledore of my father's doings and allowed her to enroll me as a "Clair Wincrest". Clair Wincrest was a half-blood, her father a muggle, her mother a famous singer. When I was at Hogwarts, I was able to keep my cover...until I saw someone who looked a lot like me...

Introducing myself as Clair to my own brother was very tricky. As if being his identical twin wasn't bad enough, he tended to interrogate me with several ridiculous questions. Who really cares about your lineage, as long as you've got magical talent, right? I found myself very wrong about that.

In my 4th year, my aunt Lucine, the very same woman who had raised me since I arrived on her front door step sniveling in my father's arms, was killed by a Death Eater. Three guesses who. You see, my father wasn't exactly pleased with his sister for allowing me to attend the same school as his beloved son. He sent me a letter, the first contact with me in ten years. 'Dracen Narcisse Malfoy, if you ever think of revealing yourself to your brother, your fate will be ten times worse than your aunt's,' he threatened.

When I heard that my father had been put in Azkaban, I rushed to Malfoy Manor. After a few hours and some convincing, my mother allowed me to stay in the place that was rightfully my home. A lovely ending for me. Ha. Right. My brother, however, was not convinced. But after some, ah, reminders of his past, he believed me.

In my 6th year, I continued to attend Hogwarts as Miss Wincrest, seeing my brother only sometimes. It was in the middle of the year when I realized that he was working for You-Know, um, Voldemort. I, as a sibling and companion, was horrified. How could the Dark Lord use my father's beloved son to do his bidding? It was absolutely terrible. Sure, it would get back at my father, he would deserve to suffer, but what had Draco done to the Dark Lord? I did everything in my power to help him, even showing up in classes as him when my house, Ravenclaw, was on break.

In our 7th year, everything changed. My father didn't seem to care that I was home. The only thing he said to me was "If you want to stay here, then you have to help here." And help, I did.

[[A/N: If you must know, the reminder from the past is more than likely preferences to sleeping with a stuffed animal and in footie pajamas. He likes to pretend that he's bigger than he really is, remember? Sorry it's so short, it's only an prologue of course...]]
