Night had fallen, the darkened sky was littered with stars, beautiful bright twinkling lights billions of miles away from the scene. The crickets were sounding, telling all the wolves around that this was how it was supposed to be. Silence in the dark often meant trouble, there were always small noises to keep one aware and sound. Most of their pack was sleeping that Karim knew of, he hadn't gone out to check and hoped Lilith had, his back leg had been bothering him something terrible and he hated to walk around favouring it. He felt pathetic, unworthy, and yet here he was sitting in their den moaning to himself about how he felt... handicapped. When life brought obstacles he mumbled and moaned to himself, what sort of wolf was he? He just... hadn't wanted Lilith to know.

Sighing, the big purple male hauled himself to his feet, moving slowly as he got up. After wandering to the edge of the den, he sighed taking in a deep breath of the cool night air. At least it was dark now and harder to notice a limp in his stride. Sucking up the pain, Karim wandered off to the other dens, checking them for safe pack members. As he'd originally thought he limped slightly, stepping on the tips of his toes instead of down on the bottom of his pawpad. He hoped nobody would notice and tell their other leader, he didn't want to leave her... he wanted to be by her side forever... but what if he wasn't cut out to be an alpha? He'd have to go back to wandering around hopelessly, looking for just about any company he could find.

Shaking his head, he let the pessimistic thoughts fall out of his head and he smiled as he peered in on two wolves sleeping soundly. The next cave was more of a surprise and Karim felt a little embarrassed as he'd peeked in. He definitely hadn't needed to see that... but it was normal in this pack, or so Lilith had told him once. Grumbling, he felt like he was straining himself to go any farther so he settled down on a nearby rock. He told himself he was lucky the pack was so small... if it wasn't he could have been in quite a bit of trouble. Pricking two purple ears forward, Karim looked up at the moon, wondering if it too ever got an overwhelming feeling of lonliness when it was without all the beautiful stars in the sky...

((XD love the title))

As Karrim might have suspected Lilith HAD gone to check on the packlife in the night. She often did that anyway, but she knew Karrim was having leg troubles. Of course the big male wouldn't admit that to her, but she was observant so she noted it when she looked at him. Or rather, when she was looking at him when he was looking at something else. It was a strange sort of thing to do, but the alpha femme really couldn't help it.

In any case she had indeed checked up on the others. She found the night calming. It wasn't easy running a pack, even if Karrim was great help. It was hard work and she usually kept on all fours all day. Thankfully however all was well within her lands and she even had a moment to stare in wonderment at the inky black night with its giant glowing orbs and smaller twinkling counterparts.

It was truly a sight to behold.

Once she had her fill it was time to head back for she was weary from the day's leadership. She did however stop by the cave of her disfigured and horrendous son, Edgar. Seeing him sleeping peacefully she smiled all onto herself and moved on to the den where her daughter, Sandrina was. Still no sign of the dimwitted femme. The thought worried her. More then she could bear. And with this new worry and having her usual alpha roles sometimes she feared she would go mad.

It'd be easier if she could talk to someone about it.

But, Lilith knew this could not happen. No one knew those two where offsprings, or the son she'd left behind in her previous pack. No, if they knew that might destroy everything. If the pack knew of the secrets in which it started that might destroy everything.

And she couldn't have that.

What would Karrim think? It was best that she continue to keep this under wraps. Even though she was WORRIED. She could send a scout, but fear, FEAR kept her from speaking. She didn't want to be found out. But, she didn't want to loose her daughter. The thoughts plagued her mind while she continued padding along aimlessly, her original intention forgotten. It wasn't until she heard the smallest of noises that she looked up.

And there in front of her, was Karrim.

(( Lmao, boredom strikes again~!))

The moon reminded Karim of his past, how he and his friends always raced over the hills to get to the very top of the hill they'd come to know so well. The winner of the race always got the first howl at the moon, the rest then followed in chorus, it then turned into a wrestling match and all four of them rolled about the ground biting and growling playfully at each other. The wolf-like smile on his face faded as he remembered his past, he did miss those days when he was worry free... When his father decided he was too much of a threat, that was when his real troubles started. He'd been so alone, even making friends with his food sometimes, it was a lonely world out there when you had nobody to share it with. Sharing worlds brought to mind the pack, and of course... Lilith. She ruled the pack, that was obvious, he wasn't sure if she really needed him the way she went about her business. Lilith was so firm, so sure, so... beautiful.

Sighing, the large canine placed a head between two large wolf-paws, he couldn't get that beautiful alpha out of his head. Karim had an idea to go find one of the lesser wolves and have himself a night of fun but his conscience ate at him, all he wanted was her. Problems like these never really came along for him, he rarely took an interest in the opposite sex and hadn't realized the feelings were so... strong. Something inside him wanted to run over to Lilith and spill his heart out, have her hear what was going through his mind daily. Tell her how beautiful she is, how amazing, how wonderful, how he looked towards her and it brightened his day. Karim only feared one thing... rejection.

Something told him he couldn't avoid it for the rest of his life, he needed to find out how she felt as well but what would he do if she cast him away? Could he live on his own again without the pack... without her...? He could, he just doubted it'd be easy.

His mind had been made up, he had to tell her, had to empty his mind of these thoughts. It was now or never and he didn't want that never to come into play. Hauling himself up, Karim stood and jumped down off of the rock he'd been laying on top of. With that came pain shooting up his leg so quickly he crashed against the ground and made a sound between a whimper and a yelp. The pain was unbearable now, something in his leg kept burning, it felt as if something had torn his leg right off.

Pathetic, weak, useless, that was exactly what he felt like. How could he do anything when he had to limp and walk around like he had no pride? What if something happened to Lilith while he was lying here... what if she got hurt? Had Karim been an aggresive type, he may have swore under his breath... instead he pulled himself to his feet, ignoring the pain an lumbered back to the den while making sure his bad leg avoided the ground. Had it been a forepaw it may not have been so awkward but it happened to be his rear left leg and that caused more problems than enough as he hobbled back.

Halfway back Karim had to sit, he was tired and he wondered how wolves lived with injuries like this. He wasn't out of shape, he was a bit big but that was more to genes and muscle than anything else. Either way, while he rested he found a new admiration for animals who were missing limbs.

A little frustrated, Karim wondered what he'd even done to his leg... he remembered chasing after that squirrel, trying to get it to tell him something when... he dropped. He'd gotten back up and managed to walk home with a constant ache but putting a lot of pressure on his leg made his head throb. Lilith hadn't seen him and that was all he'd really been worried about, if she noticed he didn't know what he'd do...

..and what if she noticed now? He wasn't off the hook just yet! With that thought he pulled himself to his feet and continued his 'journey'. A good sleep would be nice...

Inwardly she hoped he wouldnt' see her. Or maybe outwardly she wanted him not to notice, and inwardly she wanted some sort of comfort. And thats what it all boiled down to, wasn't it? She wanted him to comfort her. The word itself held volumes. The great alpha, the one who ruled the land with an iron paw, wanted one thing and one thing only at the end of her long troubled days. And that was quite simply:

his love.

With all the males (and females if she was ever inclined) at her paws she only wanted one. She wanted to share the worry of her daughter, let Karrim in on all the dirty family secrets. All the lies the pack was founded on. But on the same token she didn't want to seem horrible in his eyes. Lilith was a wolf of mystery and power. She was like that to everyone but her two children, and even then she held an air of 'mother knows best so don't question attitude' with them. Wouldn't it be grand to just to let go, show him what lay beneath all the layers she had to cover herself in?

Wishful thinking at its best.

Likewise, Lilith didn't want to be rejected and she had trouble letting people in. If not just for her sake, for her children's. Ironic that the pack was known for it's immoral ways yet it's alpha had a heart as loyal and as deep as the sun to the moon. Always there to take over and rise again.

She continued to stare at him however, rather then say anything. She didn't want to be here, not with him and not now. Not when the moon in all its finery was setting the tone, setting the mood, and setting her heart ablaze.

She turned to pad off in the direction she had come from.

But then she heard a yelp and instantly she turned back around, her heart pivoting into a beat her mind hadn't quite cottoned on to yet.

Karrim was hurt!

The leg, she knew it was the leg. Lilith just wasn't sure if she was supposed to spring into action or not. When he got up and began to slink off she followed. With her dark coat she would be hard to spot. She moved soundlessly, used to hunting prey of all types.

When he stopped for rest she stepped, lowering herself just in case he might catch a pair of emerald eyes in the dark. And when he finally was near his den she thought....it's now or never.

She chose now.

"Karrim..." she called out softly, a feat in and of itself.

He was almost there, he could tell from the lingering scent in the air, Lilith's scent... the scent he'd learned to crave so much. It was strange though, her scent seemed stronger than it normally was, maybe he'd been thinking about her so much it was even clogging up his senses. Not that he minded, he loved the smell of her, sight of her, sound of her voice and above all rubbing up against her. He knew he had to tell her, he couldn't harness the urge to snuggle in close to her at night, to share her warmth and whisper secrets in her ear. Karim wanted to be able to tell the other wolves that she was his and his alone for the taking. Maybe he was getting a little ahead of himself...

Something sounded behind him, paws...? He turned his head to look but saw nothing, perhaps it was due to his attention being mostly on his leg and Lilith. That was stupid, to be out at night with an injury and not know anything about your surroundings. He didn't mind though, he was almost to Lilith and he could tell her everything as long as she didn't notice his leg... He doubted she could take in his affection for her and his well... injury.

Then, he heard it. Her voice... and it came from behind him.

This was great, just great... how long had she been following him? Did she know he was having so much trouble and acting like a big wuss? Wasn't he supposed to be brave, strong and fearless? He definitely couldn't tell her now, what would she think of him? She wouldn't think highly of him, that was for sure...

"Lilith..." Karim replied in an exhausted voice, "How long have you been following me?" He needed to know... had she seen him jump off of that rock? Had she heard him whine like a child? Why had things gotten so complicated when he'd finally found the strength to tell her? Maybe he was just doomed to spend his life alone...

Since when had he been so pessimistic in thought? What had she done to him? He just wanted to get down like an omega, crawl to her feet and beg for her to love him. Some alpha he was, acting like a big baby over a little injury. Karim wanted to be strong, he wanted to show Lilith he could overcome anything but it was hard when one of your limbs was giving you a hard time. There was no excuse good enough, he should have tried harder, he shouldn't have let it get to him. He was so useless... There came those pessimistic thoughts again.

"I... I'm sorry, I'll.. I'll leave," he decided before she answered. He wasn't sure he could take the rejection and he had no place in a pack when he couldn't even take care of himself. It was easier that way, if he left she didn't have to tell him and start a fight... as long as it was easier on her. He wanted everything to be easy for her and pleasant, maybe without him things would be better.

It'd hurt... to be replaced... to think another male would take his place and have the chance to capture her heart. It pained him, but he'd do it for her... he'd do anything for her.

As soon as the phrase was uttered she felt like she had gone and made a grave mistake. Lilith clamped down on her maw hard and instantlly her voice faltered into nothingness. This wasn't right, things weren't right. It was too early on for her to go and admit serious things to him. Telling him just how she felt. Karrim was a good wolf. He was big and strong and kind hearted and just a wonderful wolf.

Who was she to muck it all up?

She a wolfess with grown children, she was older then him. She a wolf with dirty secrets when all he ever told her were truths. They were like the purest water verus the mud after a downfall. But in any case the damage was done and there was no slinking away to hide now.

Once Karrim turned around she knew he had heard.

Fleetingly a hoard of excuses fumbled and jumbled around inside her brain. Perhaps she could say she just needed him to check up on something. But...she didn't know what and there couldn't be anything since it was night and all was well with the pack. She could very well say it was Sandrina, but that would lead to more questions that she had no full answers for.

Lilith also considered saying that she just wanted him wantonly. To bear her heirs and be done with it. But, that was far from the truth. It was true lately she missed having pups since hers had long since become adults, but she didn't want to be done with Karrim.

Not now, not ever.

But his question caught her off gaurd and her ears flattened against her skull. A look of defeat. If it had been her being followed the wolf in question would be brought in for treachory. A case of innocense or guilt had to be proven. But she was alpha, and thus it was void. Though it still made her feel sorry she'd followed him. She still kept her cool however.

"A while now," she said softly, inwardly feeling shame for having done the act. But suddenly she was thrown off guard again, "......Leave?" she asked, her voice giving her fears away to make her sound like a surprised whine.

"I don't want you to leave Karrim......." she insisted and then her mind clicked. That age old battle began again...

now or never, now or never, now or never.

"...Not ever," she capped off in lower tones. And finally she forced herself to look him squarely in the eyes. "I don't want you to go because... " She faltered. Eyes squeazed shut and she whispered, "I love you."

Silence. She hadn't said a word... Was that good or bad? Perhaps it wasn't either, it was possible she just couldn't bear to face his pathetic self. He'd known she didn't like weakness but he'd hoped she could forgive him, he hoped for a lot of things. It was time to realize in the real world things didn't fall into step in front of you, obstacles were placed in the middle and often caused problems for everyone. Obstacles could be overcome but he preferred smooth sailing.

It didn't matter, nothing mattered anymore. It was all for her.

Karim was about to limp away when he heard Lilith's soft, yet beautiful, voice behind him. She'd finally replied, letting him know that she'd seen everything, she'd watched him fall and pull himself around like a lowly omega. She knew he was weaker than he always let on... Why shouldn't she know? She was the alpha, the queen, his partner in crime! Or at least, she was moments ago...

He wanted to blame everything on that silly squirrel he'd met, but Karim knew better than that. It wasn't the squirrel who forced him to chase it, it wasn't the squirrel who was stupidly running through the woods faster than it could realized it could really go... and it definitely wasn't the squirrel who tried to strain himself to go further and in the end crashed and burned. No, nothing could be blamed on the fuzzy little creature, it was all Karim's fault. His own, nobody else's and he had to accept that. That was easy enough but other things deemed more complicated...

His purple hued ear twitched as Lilith continued talking, very slowly he turned his head to look at her beautiful face. She was talking, he knew it, he felt it but he couldn't hear the words. Her eyes had captured his own, his gaze now locked on her intense, warm eyes. Some called Lilith hard, cold, and bossy, but to Karim she was nothing but a beautiful queen. His ears finally pricked forward, bringing him more to attention and he caught the last of her sentence... I don't want you to go because... I love you. The last three words were what really caught his attention, but now he didn't know how to deal with it.

She loves me... I love her with heart, soul, and everything I have...

Legs beginning to feel like jelly, Karim collapsed but managed to pull himself into a sitting possition, making it look almost natural. He didn't know what to say, what to do, what to think... Was this a cruel trick to make him spit out his own feelings? No, Lilith wasn't at all like that, she was strict at times but she was fair and never really the trickster type. He had to accept that this was real, she was really there... he needed to touch her.

Pulling himself up, Karim limped over to Lilith and put his muzzle next to her ear, taking in her scent. He lapped at her ear playfully and nuzzled the fur on her neck before sighing softly.

It was real.

Putting his maw next to her ear was the first step, whispering secrets was the next, "Oh Lilith... I've loved you since the first day I met you, since the first day my eyes met your own. I kept it bundled up, in truth I'm... a little scared of females..." Karim chuckled softly, showing he was embarrassed to admit it, "..but I do love you, that's all that really matters. I want to be with you always, share your troubles... pain... and help you through the things you can't acomplish on your own. You mean everything to me..."

He'd spilled his feelings, every last one. He only worried now about how she'd take it...

As soon as the words were spoken she regretted saying them. How foolish of her! She was a wolf older then Karrim, and most males his age would be chasing a pretty young thing with a shiny coat, come hither eyes, and all the nonscence. There were plenty in the pack he could choose from! She should have avoided the subject. Said something else. After all, he WAS injured and she could have pitted the direction that way instead.

But the damage was done and there was no looking back now.

Instead she settled for taking a step back, her heart rattling against her ribs attempting to break free or stop all together to quiet the humiliation she was self forcing. Lilith waited with baited breath, the great alpha, the queen of Gomorrah was now reduced to a mere stocky femme with an adoration for someone who might not love her back.

And who could really love someone such as herself?

She was no prize to be won. She had a nice coat, that was sure but that alone did not make up for her other flaws. A body thick like that of a wolf who'd spent /his/ whole life training for the hunt and hunt alone. But, it wasn't her fault. She had to work hard like a male her whole life, and she couldn't help it that genes made her larger then her other female counterparts. That and the facade she was constantly forced to bear made her appear like a, well like a common b***h. A misconception, but still a preception. So Karrim, even if he was foolish enough to like her, would do better to find some one else.

If only the earth would just swallow her whole!

For some time she just stared at him, long after the words had left her maw. It was like the very fabric of time had stopped still to make way for this one moment when she confessed her deepest love for him. And how deep it went? Why further then the deepest darkest part the ocean, further then the inky black night and space beyond. Words alone could not describe how much she cared for him.

She decided to leave. It would be best for the both of them, and hopefully he had the good sense to just pretend it never happened.

But then something else happened.

Karrim made a movement and Lilith took an instinctive step back, her ears still flattening against her skull and her eyes showing all the pain of ages. She was so convinced that rejection and hopelessness was soon to follow. She continued to stay planted as he approached her; could not and would not move out of utter fear and then before she knew it his muzzle was so very close to her own.

She exhaled the breath she did not know she was keeping and then inhaled his deep musky scent. The great alpha couldn't help but shudder and let out a low husky giggle as she felt her ear lapped and her neck fur nuzzled. Her eyes half closed soon after and she finally realized what she was searching for. The thing that finally made her life feel that much more complete.

Him.

The words next spoken by him made her feel like she was dying. Like her heart was breaking at the seems and freeflowing blood and soul was spilling out. It was a strange feeling. Like a feeling of such rapturous joy that it almost borded on pain. But it was something that only made her press closer to him. Him. Her Karrim.

"And I you..." she whispered, "I want to be yours and yours alone," she continued, pressing closer at each word, as if trying to pour the feelings she had into his being. "I want to spend the rest of my life with you, I...Karrim, I want to be your mate. I want to be your everything....like...you are to me."

He hadn't known her for long, she'd just arrived one day and asked him to help her along the way. After being alone for so long he didn't think it was such a big deal and happily agreed, any company was better than none. Of course females had tried to 'woo' him as they might, but he hadn't really any real interest in them. Older, younger, his own age... they all just seemed like friends he'd like to keep around. This urge to wiggle up against another, to give them tender licks when they looked down, to share that one special moment with them and produce children. No, he'd never experienced that feeling with anyone or anything before. That explained why he was so confused, so scared, so... inexperienced. He felt so lost yet so loved, he didn't know whether it was wrong or right, even if it felt oh so right... This was what they called love, love at first sight perhaps, loving another so deeply that you'd give up your own happiness for them. Yes, that was exactly how he felt.

It was sometimes explained as magical, he'd heard elders from his old pack tell the stories of how they found their mates. It'd never really interested him, he'd just been a silly pup with only games on his mind. Nowadays it made more sense, magic was the only way to explain it. The way his stomach seemed to flip and flop all around whenever Lilith spoke or smiled at him... The way he ached to rub up against her, to show her exactly how much she meant to him. Magic was the only way to explain all these new feelings, this new found happiness. If he was lucky, it could all last forever, he'd never be alone again...

Although, being alone with her would be all he'd ever need.

They still had a pack to rule, of course they couldn't run off together and go do as they pleased, they had duties, responsibilites. Most ran from such words but they only made Karim smile to himself. As long as the duties were divided between him and his new found love he'd do anything he could manage. His earlier words about being willing to do anything for the one wolf that he loved were honest, he'd run to the sun for her... even with his bad leg.

His leg, oh no.... she'd seen it, she'd heard him cry like a pup as he'd jumped down off of that small rock. She must be ashamed of him. No wolf would want a weak male to share their duties with them, what would she do when she remembered? Would she cast him away like he'd originally thought? It was her choice... he was a slave to her. Was that how it should be? Alphas weren't supposed to bow down and follow orders for just anybody! ..but it was her, there was no way he'd hurt her, even by accident. That would be the one thing he'd try to prevent, her pain...

If she needed him to leave, he'd go without a fuss... but for now he decided to enjoy the moment.

Strong forepaws stood near his love as his ears pricked towards her, his eyes were soft, intense but soft, peering at her beautiful masked face as he listened to her speak. Every word was exactly what he'd been wanting to hear, every word was making his heart ache with a love he didn't realize he'd harnessed for so long.

"Mates..." he said, his voice husky and low as his eyes began to slowly close, "I'd like that... very much..."

His next words came as more of a whisper, "I don't think I could bare to see you with anybody else..." The greatest worry was that she might leave him for another stronger, more beautiful wolf. Karim was handsome enough and young enough but Lilith seemed to be the type who got what she wanted no matter what the cost. It was just hard to believe that what she'd really been wanting was him all along. Karim, the big, peaceful, oaf... she loved him.

Was that even possible? To love a wolf like himself? He knew what flings were, and this definitely didn't seem like one... No, it was something much, much, more beautiful. Something he wouldn't trade for the world...

Something he'd never give up.

Fighting to keep what was yours, it was normal behaviour for a wolf and he now had permission to fight to keep Lilith. Mates... his mate, his love, his Lilith. He definitely liked the sound of it, having her to call his own, it seemed to fit better... a male and female to rule together from love rather than having a job too big for one wolf alone. Yes, it made sense, it was close to perfect...

A look to the sky made him realize how late it really was, they had to get some sleep if they wanted to be up in the early hours the next morning. Only... he couldn't gather the courage to tell her that she needed her rest. There were several reasons for this, one that she might snap at him if he told her what to do, two he didn't want to leave her side, he wanted to soak in her warmth and scent forever... The last reason was more about his leg, if he moved she'd be reminded of it and then... well he didn't know what would happen after that.

Instead, he decided to stay by her side and do just as he'd wanted to do for so long. A gentle n** to the ear, followed by the words 'I love you, I just can't say it enough' in a silent whisper.

"You're just so wonderful, so perfect," his whispers continued, still soft, low and slightly breathy, "I admire the way you hold yourself, and you're more beautiful than you'll ever know. I just... can't get enough of you.."

Lilith quieted after the words were spoken. There didn't need to be anymore words. She knew that he could tell how she felt, afterall she had put every ounce of herself into this 'wolf hug' and took to running her snout over the course purple with white marking'd fur. She had spent hours gazing at his pelt fondly in the days he hadn't noticed her silent longings. Days when she would watch the purple shine against the sun's kiss and the white appear that much whiter. The markings had always seemed like a puzzle to her. A mean she couldn't adequately figure out, yet she wanted to so very badly.

She wanted to piece it all together. From the moment he had stepped into her life and on.

Karrim with his warm hearted nature, and the smile that seemed to radiat outward and light up the whole pack if it had no light to see. The sun be damned, Karrim could take its place with just that one tender smile. She too knew he was inexperienced, but that made him all the more charming. It wasn't like she was preying on his innocense, no far from it. It was if she was basking in it. She could never give that to him in returned seeing how she was tainted.

But she would give all of herself, and shouldn't that be enough?

She hoped so. If she could give the innocense she would. If she could hunt the moon and stars and bring them down she would set them down in front of Karrim. But Lilith already found these things when she looked a the twinkling in his eyes.

She pressed closer.

Lilith didn't think she would have this. Not ever. Love wasn't for people like her. In her old pack women were picked for the colors in their pelts and males took them as their own. Their purpose was to bear offspring, beautiful ones. In that regard Lilith had failed, but all that didn't matter. She had found something she swore she would never know. And she'd found it in the most unlikely place to boot.

Each time she thought of it, even though it had only been mere minutes she was overjoyed. As if she still couldn't grasp that this was really happening. She'd heard of the word 'happy ending' and now she realized that this could be her fairytale ending. Karrim and Lilith, lived happily ever after. It had such a nice ring to it.

Then she felt the tiniest shift in his movement. It didn't take a seer to realize something was wrong.

Emerald eyes shifted over his form and then to his leg, but before she could comment he said the words back to her. Mates.. A rush of giddiness surged through her once more. They were in argeement!

"And so it is," she whispered, nuzzling his cheek gently.

"I don't want anyone else," she said, the same strength in her voice. Lilith said what she meant, and that was that. "I want only you, Karrim. Only you..."

Lilith was not thinking of her own rest, but of his. His bad leg, he needed to tend to it. No..no, SHE wanted to tend to it. Yes, she wanted to take care of him forever and ever. She beamed at his words and inhaled sharply.

"Oh Karrim," she whispered, nuzzing once more, "And you are kind and gentle, the sun to my moon. But your leg? You must lie down," she said. And this was not a command, no way in such. The words drifted out of her maw like the sweetest honey.

Stars in the sky twinkled, giving off the faintest of light when compared to the moon. It shone brilliantly, letting off what little light they needed to see, setting the romantic atmosphere of the night. It wasn't a full moon, but a half was just as good, it made the scene one they'd never forget. Clouds rolled in to cover part of the moon, making the midnight hour slightly darker than it normally would be. The wind blew, ruffling the fur of the two wolves, it wasn't a chilly wind but more of a gentle breeze. It was often the weather was like this, not too cold but not too hot either. Perfect, was the only word to describe everything around them.

By now the crickets had stopped chattering, it was like they too wanted to know what was going to happen to the two wolves standing in the clearing. Everything was silent at that point, probably due to the fact that it was getting later, most of the other animals and insects around were off in bed and the nocturnal ones weren't anywhere in sight. He wasn't sure what kind of scene they were making but it must have been a big one to keep everything so silent. Not that he cared, everything could be as silent as it liked, he was there with Lilith and that was all that he wanted.

She was his now, as amazing as that was... The big wolf smiled and nuzzled into her soft, dark, fur once again. At that very moment he had everything he'd ever wanted, someone to care for him...

As a pup he hadn't had much love, his parents were always busy with their own things and his friends were well... friends. Sure, they liked to cause mayhem with him and wrestle but once he started getting bigger than them they all took off. His father didn't like it either and his mother just followed his father around like a little lost pup. She obeyed his every command without a second thought, she was like a little omega.. but Karim hadn't held anything against her, that had been her choice. It was her way of life...

The tide had changed and now everything was different... he was a ruler of a pack and he could make the choices. He could make the choices his father had to make... but he didn't have to chose the same answers. No, he'd make sure the mistakes his father once made weren't repeated...

His attention turned back to his love, a smile still playing out on his features, "Only me you shall have... and of course you're all mine as well!" With that he growled playfully and nudged into her side slightly, doing so made he himself lose his balance. He leaned up against her and sighed softly as he caught himself, pathetic...

He had no idea such a small injury could take so much out of him...

Almost chuckling at her whisper, he nodded his head slightly, even when Lilith wasn't commanding you it was best to listen to her, he knew this. Of course, she rarely commanded him compared to the rest of the pack but he knew her words were set in stone. Grinning slightly, he decided to be a bit of a tease, his mood had lifted quite a bit now that he realized she wasn't upset over his leg injury. She didn't want him to leave... it was all a big misunderstanding on his part.

"My leg, huh? So does this lying down include any extra perks..? Such as... you know...?" he let that question drag on for a moment before whispering, "Like extra cuddling privledges?"

Karim wasn't much of a perv and he often didn't have a gutter mind but when you were injured you often got away with more things. So, he'd decided to pull Lilith's leg a little and see how she responded to his question. He had to do something to lighten the atmosphere a little, for as much as he hated to admit it, his leg was starting to really bother him...

Laying down would do him some good... as long as she was there with him...

As she followed his gaze she saw the glimmer of light meeting the moon and it made her smile a true smile. Something she had not done in quite sometime. All was well with the world. It all seemed so very right. It was as if the unnamed God decided to call heaven onto Earth and Karrim and she were the ones blessed enough to experience it. Her eyes ticked over his form once more and she admired the white markings. It seemed as if it was attempting to outshine the stars above. And doing a great job of it at that.

The silence was deafening. If Lilith concentrated closely she could hear just the solitary sound of her and Karrim's breathing. The soft undertones of such contentment. Something they both had wanted for so long and had finally managed to get.

It was a strange feeling to feel owned. But it was also the most wonderful feeling in the world. The female alpha had once prided herself on being indepentant. Of being the Queen of Gomorrah and none was under her. But now she would willingly put Karrim in charge. She would have him at the head and she would even serve him for the rest of her days just to get one more of those carefree smiles.

Oh how she loved him so.

And then she got the smile. And the feeling of peace washed over her once more.

She chuckled at his words and nipped his ear playfully when he nudged her side, "Mine."

"Ooohhh tsktsk," she playfully chided. And walking forwad she lightly brushed her tail under his nose. "Only if your goooooood."

Oh she could tease too!

"C'mon," she cooed as she took it upon herself to lead the way.

He'd started to wonder what happened to his big, strict, alpha that let everyone know she was better than them. Then, there was that smile... that one smile he'd never seen before.. the one that made him feel so warm and fuzzy inside he felt almost exactly like a rabbit soaking in a hot spring. Just that one look that lit up here entire body made him feel so special, so needed, so wanted and loved. He knew Lilith didn't give anyone the right to give her orders, and that in itself was an acomplishment. Not that he really minded her being so independant, he liked that about her... how she carried herself. He liked it both ways, because no he could boss her around when she needed to be cared for... there were times when she just wouldn't listen. He chuckled a bit, it was exactly like he was right now, avoiding her looking at his leg.

It wasn't wise to waste time, and Lilith seemed to know this because she too had started teasing. He hadn't seen her as much of a teasing type but it was obvious she had hidden talents.

Grinning he watched as her tail came up under his maw, all he could really think about was how wonderful she smelled and how nice it felt to have her fur brush up against his own. Her taunting him in such a way was a bit of a surprise but hey, he'd started it! ..and it wasn't like he was going to put a stop to it. He may not have been too worried about 'naughty' manners of thinking but he wasn't stupid either. Passing up a chance to spend time with Lilith would have been stupid, and passing up a chance to... would have been just as dumb.

"Am I ever bad?" Karim soon pouted, giving Lilith a look of a guilty puppy trying to weave its way out of trouble.

He loved her, everything about her... and he was starting to see just how good they were for each other. It wasn't often anyone, that he knew of, got to see Lilith tease and play, nor did they often see her smile. If he made her happy, if after everything she'd been through in a day she could still smile when she saw him it was all for a good cause, was it not? He thought it was...

"You don't have to ask me twice," Karim then replied to her as she led the way to the den. He took one last glance up at the moon, getting a strange urge to howl in delight to show the world just how happy he really was. On second thought, that was a bad idea because he didn't want to wake up the pack. Angry pack members missing out on their Zs against pathetic alpha with a bad leg... yep, that'd end badly.

Instead he limped back inside after his love, deciding to show his happiness with a sure wag of his white marked tail.

Lilith was quite pleased with how the night was progressing. She was a wolf that usually had to stick to some type of order. It was strange to think, but it was true. As an alpha her order was quite simple. Wake up check on the pack, keep an eye on things up until sundown, then redo a check then go to bed. Repeat.

This had far more flavor in it.

Lilith didn't think she'd ever tease another before, but she knew deep down there was that inner spitfire that was dying to get off. Afterall it was she who had originally taught the courtesans who to do, say, and how to act before that she-devil Linn took over.

Her tail continued to curl and waft around his nostrils until she had finished padding forward, taking a few quick steps before looking back at him. A great silky grin was placed firmly on her maw.

"True," she breathed, ticking her head upward as the coy smile still played at her lips. "I suppose a reward is in order, isn't it?"

Lilith never had time for this silly little game. It was a side she would never show to anyone for sake of time and energy and because she kept herself gaurded for the most part. But Karrim drew this softer side out of her and he alone would make her feel like a wanton temptress. It was a good feeling to be able to let loose like this.

And it was all for him.

When she finally entered the den she turned round and then gently nuzzled into Karrim's side, an act to help him lay down so that she may look at the leg.

Karim's brain had now started thinking about things beyond Lilith's mask and beautiful coat. Had she ever smiled quite like this? Perhaps she had something hidden away she couldn't trust to tell anyone and she kept it locked up inside her... causing unhappiness. If that were the case he wasn't going to push it, wasn't going to make her uncomfortable, he was just going to wait. Patience was a virtue.. When she was ready for him to know she'd come to him, if it was even anything at all. There was that chance that he was over-reacting and thinking up strange scenarios too.

All that really mattered was that Lilith seemed happy, and even a little playfull. Actually, scratch that little, she was very playful and it was making Karim chuckle. He couldn't remember the last time he'd felt so happy, so wonderfully amazing so... complete.

The smile continued to stay plastered on his face as he watched Lilith and peered about the den. He liked it, it was comfortable, roomy if you like and he always got a good night's sleep when he finally laid down. Part of him wondered how much sleep he'd get next to Lilith, he figured it'd be a night of pure bliss if he ever did shut his eyes. Going to sleep when you were next to someone as wonderful and amazing as she was, it was generally fairly hard.

He was about to find out just how hard it really was.

Feeling a nuzzle to his side he smiled and after much effort laid down beside his new mate. Karim wasn't exactly sure he wanted Lilith to look at his leg, just because she might find out it's really nothing and laugh at him or worse... push him away. It was a risk he'd have to take, he couldn't refuse Lilith, not only because nobody told her no but because he loved her and had to trust her.

Trust... it was such a big word... when you opened up everything could be torn down to little shreds but you had to believe that one you trusted would never hurt you. Oh yes, he trusted Lilith with all his heart. He just hoped she felt the same way.
