Dusk had come to the Prideland's and the female, now an adult just out of her adolesence was wandering out of the den's to watch the sunset, her bright golden eyes seeking out the stars that would slowly come to appear once the sun had gone. She didn't know where her family was...probably in the den sleeping...off hunting, she didn't care...well, she did, but for now all care about anyone or anything around her had vanished and only one thing stuck in her head.
This...this moment right here...the sheer vastness of this land made her curious. Even when she was an adolescent she didn't go that far, but now, since growing up she'd taken full advantage of her newly adapted strength and speed that came with adulthood. But now...she just had to wonder what was beyond her home, what was beyond the pridelands...
The dark female sighed softly as she sat down and pondered her next choice of thoughts, what would she do now knowing she wanted to do nothing more than explore the other lands? What would her family and her brother think of it?
...What would the Pride think of it?

Whilst the 'adopted' family might have started to settle for the night, Udhahiri seemed to share his sister's restlessness. He'd tried to settle once, and had got back up for a wander. It was upon this second return that he saw his sister, so close to being a living shadow that he could have missed her entirely had she hidden herself away.
"Zira...? You coming to sleep...?"

The lioness' ears flicked back and she turned her head away from the sunset to look at her red pelted brother, giving a weak smile as she looked his way and then sighed. His words made her briefly reconsider if she should leave or not...however, the urge deep in the pit of her stomache bubbled over that nagging thought and she shook her head.
"I doub't I'll be coming to sleep in a long time, Udha'." She said briefly, standing up as she moved over to him slowly. How to explain this to her baby brother...she shook her head and then looked Udha' deeply in the golden eye's he shared with her.
"I'm leaving."

As he tried to mentally digest what she said to him, he found himself face to face with her as she revealed her shocking decision. He was visibly crushed.
"...what?..." he said in a whisper, which was rare for the usually buoyant male.
He even faltered back a bit. How could she leave? She had so much here! She had a family! If it was to find a mate, then there wasn't a shortage of that either! She couldn't leave...he didn't want her to be like his mother...their mother...their REAL mother.

It hurt Zira to see her younger brother like this, ears flattening against her skull as she looked down and regreted her choice briefly before she looked back up at him and sighed slowly.
"Udha, this is my choice...I just want to see what's out there, beyond this place." She said, looking out over the sunset with a small smile on her muzzle before she looked back towards her sibling. The smile disapearing as she moved over and looked over him.
"Please...don't think I'm leaving forever...I will be back."

It was selfish of Udha to be acting this way, but it was something deeper that fed his attitude. Everything was fine as it was. Sure, he had his brothers, and sisters...but she...well Zira was his true sister, like his shadow. Without their real mother here, she was all he had left, the only thing that was his. His sister.
Udha wore a very unbecoming pout, and as Zira approached, he got up and moved away from her, acting very childishly.
"Whats...out there...to see...?" he asked. "Whats wrong with here?"

The female blinked and then cocked her head at his behaviour, only to narrow her eyes at him. What brought this on? She stood there and watched him move away before she shook her head.
"I thought you'd understand...there's just...there are things I wanna see and know." She said softly, trying to be gentle as she could with her little brother. It hurt her so much to see him act so selfish because of her choice, but she didn't show it. She couldn't.

"I just...there's just bad things out there. Everything's good and safe here...we always know whats happening...I don't wanna see you get hurt...or not see you ever again," he began this distressed babble, the cracks beginning to show in his normally jolly nature.
Udha turned to face her, his face a picture of hurt.

Zira's ears flattened back at his words and the look on his face, before she pulled one of her own. Not the loving sister, but the stern, proud female he'd grown up knowing as she watched him closely.
"I will see you again Udha...but I want to do this...and if you can't be encouraging to your own sister than fine!" She practicly snarled slightly before she watched him for a few moments more, only to calm down a little.
"I just wanna know if there's more of our family out there...like our father...or...her..." She said, turning back to the sunset before she began to make her way to the start of the path that lead down from the dens.

Udha flinched as Zira launched her verbal attack. She could actually be quite scary and boy did he know it! She had this way of making him feel guilty for anything, whether it was a passing joke or a dirty limerick.
Encouragement? Thats what she wanted from him? But would he be able to...did she even see his side of things. It begged the question if she would even miss him on her travels, since there was nothing he could actually do to stop her now.
"I know...this must be important for you...but its jsut hard for me to say 'have a good time.' You know I'll worry about you everyday when you're gone, don't you..." he tried to say with a less pouty attitude. "Its what brothers do."
Somewhere inside, Udha was actually happy for Zira. Happy that she had something she wanted to go do. Something to see.
On the topic of their mother and father, he normally would have launched into a tirade about how Tai was their mother. Whatever had dumped them so long ago didn't deserve that title. But he thought better of it and kept quiet, although a disgusted sneer on his muzzle probably said more than words could.

The female watched her younger brother, an almost exact replica of her with just inverted colourings and then smiled softly at his words before she moved over and nuzzled into the younger males mane. Both litter mates, both siblings, brother and sister connected by blood forever and she smiled softly as she drew herself back.
"Yeah...I know..." She said softly, swallowing back a small slab or regret before she smiled and turned towards the path once more. She then turned her head to look over her shoulder to look at him. "I'll miss you too, brother...and I'm going to find out why we were left here alone."
She was referring to their mother, their real mother...but she hoped and wished that Tai wouldn't be angry and that her adopted brothers wouldn't be mad. She loved all of them so much and she hoped she'd see them again.

Udha was more than relieved when Zira nuzzled him softly. It was a sign that she wasn't mad at him anymore. And that she did actually know what he was trying to say, despite his awful attitude and terrible way with words. He watched sadly as he felt his sister's warmth depart, and it felt like a piece of him went with her.
"If I could go with you...I would...but I'm guessing this is something you hafta do alone...and I'm sure you;ll do it...I know you will," he tried to sound encouraging, searchng the depths of his skull for vocabulary.
