What kind of books do you guys like other than Star Trek ones?

Mostly Harry Potter. And any other books that actually manage to hold my attention for more than a couple hours. I'm a really slow reader, so I don't do it very often and I need to get sucked in to a story if I'm ever going to finish the book.

I read Harry Potter, too. The sixth was my favorite. What was yours?

Well, I'm four chapters away from finishing the sixth book, so I haven't even started the seventh yet (but I need to, before it gets spoiled for me gonk ). I like the sixth, but I think it's a close call between Prisoner of Azkaban and Order of the Phoenix for my favorite, Sirius being my favorite character.

The Order of the Phoenix? Really? You must be the second person I've talked to that actually liked that book! No offense. I just hated it.
So, you don't like the sixth one, as far as you are?

I only liked it because of the evilness, Fred and George, and seeing more of Sirius. I hated Harry for the most part and The Veil. Dx

I do like the sixth one, a lot more than any of my friends I've talked to, apparently.

I once saw an icon that claimed all of Sirius accomplishments and ended with "Died by curtain." I thought it was the stupidest thing Joe could have come up with. Then there's the rumor that she never DID come up with that part...

Oh! Books! I personally don't like Harry Potter books. I read the first 4 and got bored. I like any and all books by Chris Wooding and Stephenie Meyer. Does anyone else read either of their stuff?

Wait, there's books other than ST? I didn't know this!

Actually, um, I don't tend to read much more than ST. Then again, I haven't read much more than text books for the last five years (dumb college).

I have read Fellowship of the Ring and 2/3 of The Two Towers. That's honestly almost all I've had the chance to do for personal reading. I've read a few short, entertaining books just so I could say I've read some books all the way thru (since I haven't had much time to do so), like Confessions of a Sociopathic Social Ladder Climber, The Devil Wears Prada (before the movie even existed in pre-production), The Forgotten Weekend, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, several about Jack the Ripper, Dante's Inferno (not by choice), Peter Coyote's autobiography, and that's about all I've read in the last few years. Okay, so I lied. I've done more reading than I've realized, but it hasn't been nearly as much as I would prefer.

Mostly, I prefer to read books about the drug culture (in the 60s/70s) and Jack the Ripper.

Oh, you're talking to the wrong person!
I have over 1000 books of all kinds. My friends and family ask me before going to the library!
