Weekly Interview:This week we interviewed a forum moderator for the chatterbox forum. Here is the interview:
Me:So, what can you tell me about Gaia and how it has changed over the time you've been playing?
Dea ex Machina:Gaia's a community that I joined back in November of 2003. I have stuck primarily around in the Chatterbox Forum, and very much consider it to be my home. I've made numerous friends through Gaia - many ones that I feel a great connection with still. Gaia has benefited me in numerous ways.
I remember Gaia back when there were the list of online users at the top of each forum, so you could see who was also browsing the forum. Gaia's made many changes since I've been here, and I can't say I've been against any of them. I fully support all of the admin's decisions in what direction to take Gaia - including sponsorship and all. No, I'm not a total brown-noser, I just feel that I have no place in criticizing their progress.
But I've gone off topic a bit now - haha. I guess I'm just thankful that I've been around to see how much Gaia has progressed, and love the fact that I got my first donation item (Monthly Collectible) for 3k - an AFK hat.
The progress Gaia has made in terms of server capacity and capabilities is quite noticeable. I remember whenever an event happened, the servers would crash for indeterminate amounts of time and all of us users would sit and refresh out screens repeatedly. "Error", "Sushi Error", and various other comical errors happened.
Nowadays though, I rarely ever see Gaia down unless for planned maintenance.
All in all, Gaia has definitely come a long way, and I'm glad that I've been able to contribute in a positive way to it over the years.
Me:Thank you for your time Miss Machina.
