In case of fire, pull ring, aim at the base of the fire, shoot and sweep from side to side. Catherine recited in her head. She picked up the fire extinguisher and did as she was taught. The papers scattered, some were still burning catching parts of the curtain behind the desk.
After the fire was out, Catherine put down the extinguisher and rushed to the desk. She unplugged everything and took a step back to evaluate the damage. The computer was charred and the entire left side of the keyboard was melted into a ple of plastic. The files sitting on top of the desk were gone. the only paper that survived was the document she had filled out before the fire and all that was visible was the date. Catherine felt like sobbing. She put her face in her hands and her legs almost gave out but she gained some composure and instead stood and looked up at the ceiling. The sprinklers turned on. great timing, Catherine thought as she took whatever was left of the office and exited her office. No need to stick around to be fired Catherine's left high heel broke before she took her last step out of the building.
