Long ago, a civil war broke out in the Metal Country. Many villages were burned, and women and children murdered in cold blood. it was at this time that a man, Katsuo Shitaku led a small group away from the war that tore his people apart. They fled the war, all the way to *Eimin Desert, the name of it kept many away, but Katsuo pressed on. He built a village hidden amongst the pillars of sand building a great wall to keep the children from running out into the desert of death. It was here in this village, that the villagers started training. to retrieve those they had left behind and to avenge those who had fallen. They, became ninja, lethal yet wise killers. Katsuo was named Kage, as many had heard of the other ninja villages and followed with the tradition, on his death bed he had these words inscribed into a black glass, "To be strong you must become wise, and use your wisdom in substitution for strength." By these words the villagers live by, first using their mind, and then their body. And know they have truly been recognized as one of the great ninja villages. This, is the village Sakyuugakure.

Sakyuugakure is located in the Eimin Desert, and is surrounded by a great wall that the first kage built himself by hand. The wall is approximately sixteen feet tall and too long for anyone to measure successfully. A great door is the only way to get inside of the village, and has two elite ANBU in front of the gate at all times. If you pass through the gate you come to an open area with a great statue of 5 men. The Sakyuukages that have passed stand tall welcoming those who are visiting. The villagers regularly put flowers or candy at their feet, so its not uncommon to see such gifts arrayed and villagers asking for guidance when the pass. The Courtyard is also where you find the villages well. Living in a desert water is scarce, except for here. In the past there were rations on water but when the Third Sakyuukage hit an underground stream there hasn't been rations. The villages well is guarded by a secret jutsu that is maintained by the ANBU guard by the well as well. The jutsu blocks sand from getting into the water, but not children or large rocks. The guards are there to make sure children don't get to close, but they don't fetch water for you.

In the east, or in front of the courtyard there is a great tower, taller than the wall. This is Sakyuu Tower, or Kage's Tower as some call it. This tower is where the Kage lives, and works along with few closely chosen people. The Sakyuu Tower is located in the Shinobi District, along with a pure ninja inn called Kinsha. The inn is there for the Chunin exams, or for Sakyuu Ninja when their not in service. There is also of course, the ninja academy in this district, along with a small training field for the student ninjas and for the Johnin. Behind the tower is a large arena that is closed off until the exams start, or if there is a special event going on involving fighting. The arena, when not in use, is home for ANBU training and the Kage's personal training field.

The North District is where all the homes are. Even though it is a predominantly ninja village, not all villagers are ninja. Some are just common people who work in the marketplace or school teaching the children the skills they need to be productive members of society. The school as well as a small park is located in this district. Most of the houses are built with a dark red brick as most of the building in the village do, but some houses are painted. The houses that are painted are part of the villages clan, therefore giving them a distinct pride and look.

The south district is home to the marketplace. Here entertainment takes flight. There are many different restaurants, inns, shoppes, and trading stations. Travelling merchants can even be found as street vendors, although a somewhat rare sight. there is a small movie theatre that has two movies every month, and a library filled with literature dated as far back as the civil war of the Metal Country!

There is a small temple located just outside of the South District, this is where the great black stone is. The stone is as big as a full grown man and has the names of fallen ninja, whether they died in battle or otherwise. The names are etched into the onyx and glisten in the setting sun. There are flowers at the base of the stone, and the occasional incense. Sakyuugakure prides itself on its heritage, wisdom, and the strength of its ninjas. Its no wonder that its one of the top five ninja villages.

(*Eimin means Eternal Sleep or in otherwords Death.)
