Alec's house is about three days walk from the nearest city, the large capital of the land. The land to the north is rolling grasslands, mostly with long hip-high grass. To the south is a dense forest that, a couple days walk south slowly changes to impassable swamplands.
Alec's hand and the land he has claimed as his own rests just in front of the treeline. The land he has claimed is around an acre large, a decent sized house sitting smack bang in the middle of it. There is no fece as such to mark his land, though there is a path leading from his front door out and to the main road. At the front right corner of the house is a stone well with a wooden roof over it to keep foreign objects out. Runng down the left hand side of the house is a herb garder where all kinds of cooking and medicinal herbs are kept and grown, as well as a few herbs he just likes, like lavenda. Out the back is a vegetable garden and a small shed on the back right hand corner of the yard where he keeps all his tools for building and gardening. Even a fishing pole though he never did figure out how to bait the hook, or even that he needed to in order to fish.
By entering the house by the front door, it opens straight into a passage way. The door to the right opens into a kitchen dining room area. To the left is a spare bedroom. Continuing down the passage, the next door to the right opens into a bathroom and toilet and the door to the left to Alec's room. Alec's room is the only room that is ever kept locked. Through Alec's room is another door which leads to a study with an even more complex lock on it than the one to his bedroom. Coming to the end of the hallway is a set of large double doors that open into an impressive library and sitting room. Two sturdy oak desks and tables sit there with comfy chairs around one, the other had no chairs, and was high enugh to be able to stand at and work. There were also a number of couches, chairs and low settes, all in the ornate Victorian style. Most of the book cases that lined the walls of the large room were filled with books and was obvious Alec's pride and joy.

After a long while of silently walking through the forest. Marcus stopped in a very slightly open area and gave a quick look around. The sun was already down, and they had been walking with only the fires for light. It was time to rest, dispite himself not being tired he knew Jack and Alec must have been by now.
Fires made the area a bit larger, well, large enough for the three of them, the horse plus Cart and a controlled fire to keep them warm. The small fire made itself in the middle of the clearing and Marcus sat down at it. "We're going to rest here for awhile. I need to speak to Jaspar, but before that, ask Alec if he want's anything to eat while we rest." He would have asked Alec himself, but he didn't want to have to look stupid trying to ask alec if he was hungry by motioning with his hands. Either that or he just didn't want to bother with Alec.

Alec trudged alone in silence and in his own world of silence. He was exhausted, hungry and thirsty and couldn't do a damn thing about it. He didn't even feel anything about beeing in his old homelands, without sound it just didn't seem real, more like a dream despite him not letting go of Jack's hand the entire way.
When they came to a small clearing and a fire was started he guessed they were meant to be resting there so he sunk down in front of it, back to a tree, staring into the silent flames. He never really realized how much sound was a part of his life, he never took much notice of it and merely took it for granted. Now that it was gone he realized how much he missed it.
Pulling his knees up to his chin with his arms wrapped around it he stared glumly into the flames, not really paying attention to anything. He was aware that Dr Spiff was speaking but there wasn't much he could do about it since he never learnt to read lips. He probably should start trying to learn... but it was hard when Jack couldn't read or write... unless...
Lowering his legs, he cleared a space on the ground with his hand and wrote in it with his finger, Dr Spiff, can you read this language?

Marcus had hardly finnished speaking to Jack when Alec had gotten up and came over to him. He gave Alec a slightly odd expression, as if asking why the boy was coming over to him. But, as Alec then started to write into the ground, he read what the boy wrote. He rose a brow, as he finnished reading it. He could read most of it. He wasn't very good with writing it, but he can read and understand it easily. He gave Alec a nod, indicating he could read it.

Alec smiled when Dr Spiff nodded and sat back against the tree again, content for now. He had nothing to say to the man for now, but it meant he knew of a way he could communicate clearly if he needed something. He felt a little sorry for Jack, since it was him who he loved and really wanted to talk to and he couldn't read or write but there was little he could do about it. He just had to hope that his hearing returned with time or something and then he could teach him. He would enjoy teaching Jack to read and write, he knew, and even though it wouldn't be any good for now it could be useful in the future as well.
Instead, as though to compensate and not having any idea what Dr Spiff had said earlier, he reached out and snaked a hand around Jack's waist, pulling him against him, not doing anything but just holding him there.

Jack watched as the whole exchange went on and felt a little sad as he remembered that he couldn't read what Alec was writing. The feeling was quickly forgotten as Alec hugged him close. He felt rather bad about the idea of leaving Alec in this state, especially if Spiff were to kiss him, and Jaspar did come out for a while. The sparrow turned to his lover and motioned at his own mouth while rubbing his stomach and then pointed at Alec, attempting to ask him if he was hungry without words.

Alec watched Jack curiously, trying to work out what it was that he wanted. His mouth and his stomach? Did... did that mean he was asking if he felt like being sick or something? Not knowing what else it could mean he shook his head smiling. He wasn't feeling ill anymore, thanks to that tablet, even if it had cost him his hearing.

After Alec had shook his head at the question Jack had motioned, though Marcus had no idea that Alec took it wrong, Marcus got up and went over to the two. He stood Jack up, not forcefully, and took him a few feet away from where he previously was before kissing him lightly on the lips to bring out Jaspar.

Jack had been looking back at Alec wondering if he had understood him before he felt Dr. Spiff's lips touch his. The last thought that passed through Jack's mind was that he wished there would be a little more warning when people did it. True these kisses didn't mean anything, but they were still his lips and it wasn't like they were ripping off a band aid. In second Jack was gone, but as soon as he was his legs turned to jelly as his entire body just went slack and he fell to the ground like a limp rag doll.

Alec glared at Dr Spiff when he forcefully took Jack away from him but he thought it was only because Alec had so brazenly hugged him close, showing such open affection. When he kissed him, however, he let out a cry of outrage, outrage that turned to worry when Jack suddenly collapsed because of it.
Scrambling up, he hurried over to him, shouting, "Whathaveyoudone?!" in his best attempt at speaking normally when he was completely deaf. He rolled Jack over, trying to see if he was alright, not even clicking that it wouldn't be his Jack anymore.

Marcus had seemed to just blankly stare at Jaspar for a few moments, as he merely went slack and fell to the ground. He had tried to catch him, but since his mind was drawing a blank for a few moments, his movement were quite slow. He was jerked back to reality as Alec shouted so loudly at him. He blinked a few times before glaring at Alec in return and pushing him abruntly away from Jaspar. "I had to speak to Jaspar. Now go and sit." He almost yelled, but had managed to keep his voice reletively quiet, though he had momentarily forgotten Alec was deaf when he spoke. He sighed angrilly as he realized, than pointed at the ground a few feet away, which told Alec to go sit.

Jaspar just laid unresponsively on the ground were he had been rolled. Even the tail, which usually swished smoothly from side to side was still, minus the slow fluid rise and fall of his chest as he lay there ignornant of all that was taking place around him.

Being pushed off balance by Dr Spiff, Alec fell back, landing heavily on his backside. He looked blankly at him when he obviously said something. When he pointed though it was obvious what he wanted him to do and it had finally clicked that it was Jasper who was in the forefront of Jack's body, not his lover. Getting up, glaring at Dr Spiff all the while, he went to the wagon and fosecked around, deliberately making a mess and eventually coming up with a blanket before taking it to the fire and, saying loudly and barely coherantly, "YoubetternotharmJack," before laying down by the fire, wrapping himself in the blanket and trying to ignore his rather loud grumbling stomach.

Marcus glanced up momentarily at Alec when the boy went over to the cart to grab something. He didn't take to much interest in that though, as he went back to looking over Jaspar, trying to figure out what was wrong. That was interupted by a crashing sound from the cart. Something had fallen out while Alec was digging through things to get the blanket. A deep glare came to Marcus eyes as he looked up just to see Alec walking to the fire with the blanket.
Marcus stood up from beside Jaspar, though he didn't head towards Alec, he went to the cart. After inspecting what had broken, Marcus sighed angrilly. Moments later, the blanket Alec had wrapped himself in, caught fire.

Alec's eyes flicked opne immediately when he felt the blanket and consequently his skin burning. He didn't realise it was Dr Spiff who had caused it, though, but merely a corner of it had gotten into the flames or a spak had landed on it and caught. He acted instinctively and used his essense to smother the flames before they destroyed the blanket and seriously burnt him. There were a few areas that stung but he could ignore them and the blanket was only singed so he pulled it up to his chin, once more ignoring Dr Spiff.
