I'm trying to gauge my ears out from I think they're about a 10 now to a 0 I've got all the sets of pinchers I need to get there, but I'm wondering if I should let my ears heal up between sizes or if I should move up before they heal all the way?

Wait at least 6 weeks between stretches to allow your ears to fully heal. If you do not allows them to heal all the way, you risk a blow out, which is not good at all. Take it slow and listen to your body. If it hurts any more than a slight discomfort, STOP!

Also, the week before you stretch, if you take out the jewelry in the shower and massage your lobes, then rub them down with cocoa butter, emu oil or vitamin E oil after you shower the whole proess of strectching will be much easier.

FYI: gauge refers to the size of the jewelry, stretching refers to enlarging the fistula.

If you're starting from scratch, they're going to be about a 14g. I let mine rest 1 month between each stretch, but, truth is, everyone heals different. I asked a member and she gave me some tips:

1) If they are at all sore, DO NOT, by any means increase the size

2) If you experianced any bleeding during the last stretch, it's reccommended you add an extra month to your healing time [I know it seems long, but, trust me, scar tissue hurts a lot worse in the long run]

3)When trying to decide if you should increase, tug slightly at the jewelery, if it has a little give to it and is moving freely, than go right ahead. If the jewelery is still relitivley tight, wait it out and make a habit of twisting the jewelery and tugging slightly every morning and night until the ear loosens up.

4) The best hint I've ever gotten is the power of some sea salt and some warm water. It's normal to be sore for a few days after a stretch and things like sleeping on it might irritate the ear. The solution is easy, heat some water and let about a tsp. of sea salt disolve into it. Make sure it's warm but not hot and you can either submerge your ear into it, or use the solution like a compress. I've always noticed instant pain relief.

Drop me a PM if you have any other questions. :]
