Right now I'm going to a public school. I have friends, a social life, and I LOVE my literature class. This year they decided to take up those "Citizenship scores." This means you're graded on when you turn in work, how you participate in class, and how often you go to school. If you don't pass Citizenship, you don't pass the class, regardless of how well you did your homework.
This is a problem for me. I love learning, but I hate the school setting, so I don't go to school often. I'm also terrible at schoolwork, especially in math and chemistry. I can remember it while I'm in the class, but as soon as I leave, I cant remember any of it.
I'm considering homeschooling, but I feel bad about disappointing my teachers... one of them was just telling me what a changed student I am, but when I started getting behind, he says I had such a "good start" and I can't just "slack off" now...
I'm the literature teachers pet, he loves my work, though I turn in work late, it's always the best I can do, so I'm getting A+ in that class. He's my favorite teacher, one of the nicer ones, and I'd hate to leave his class and let him down...
I don't know how to have a social life outside of school. All of my friends are in school , but if I stay in school, I know I wont learn anything, and fail half of my classes.
What do I do? gonk

You should try homeschooling for just for a while. Explain to your teacher, too. If you are not learning anything, you will not get a good job. smile Good luck

It's possible to have a social life out of school. You can join youth groups, a church, or have your mom take you to a local childrens museum often. You can still have the same old friends as before even. Just make "dates" with them to go out n do things.
Also, I wouldn't worry about the teachers and how they feel. You need to worry about you! If the school setting is not good for you to learn in you need to try homeschooling, or at least something diffirent. I can't learn in school myself, not while i was in jr high n high school. College is great tho! Learning at your own pace is great, and you could do so much better. thats the important thing here!!
Good luck, let us know how it goes!

I think you should try homeschooling. As others said, "it's possible to have a social life outside of school." I can't really give you much of an opinion though because my parents won't let me try homeschooling.
