Does listening to different types of music affect how well you play in games?

Yeah it does. Faster more aggressive type stuff makes me try to keep up with it, or something.

Whatever is playing on my WinAmp, I play SC to. It's kinda awkward to play SC to Hot Hot Heat though.

What about fast-paced classical? Ever try that?

Yeah as Gharbad says, it makes you wanna keep up with the music. Like when I was playing SC while listening to Utada Hikaru once xD.
By the way, can anybody recommend a good music player that can be ran while SC's also running?

By the way, can anybody recommend a good music player that can be ran while SC's also running? Foobar2000 is a pretty good, low-resource music program. It's also got global hotkeys (so you can skip, pause, etc without having to minimize SC) and a bunch of customizable stuff. As for myself listening to music, I only ever do it when I don't feel like playing well. If I play it in a game I want to do well in, it just distracts me and causes me to mess some things (mostly macroing) up.

I prefer winamp. I always listen to Final Fantasy songs. Music doesn't really affect my gameplay thoguh.

Winamp works perfectly for those who use Stealthbot.

Well.. you don't really need stealthbot (warden killed it off anyhoo)
You can go to your preferences in winamp and set up global variables, which lets you control your music while in another program, such as starcraft.

I prefer Winamp. Though i dont like the new one because its a resource hog. If you get Winamp 2.81 "Classic", it uses about 2-7K of memory depending on the song played. Btw, Stealthbot uses WC3, D2, and SC. Warden only banned SC because of the security. If you have D2 or WC3 CD Keys, you can still use Stealthbot. Though with the "Classic" Winamp, you wont have the global variables.

Well, if you edit SB a bit, you can still run it through an SC CD key...although it doesn't matter as much now, since 2.7 is coming out by the end of September, and it will now have a built-in Warden bypass for SC. biggrin
