No more Mario Batali?
Meeps, must research this.

I know they got a new guy, not too fond of him but I'm sure he'll grow on me.
I watch it nearly religiously every Sunday night, as well as anything with Alton Brown.

Across the board, my favorite person.

Ihave heard that in another place as well, but I flat out refuse to believe Mario is gone until I do not see him...

"But other chefs seem to be bristling at the new arrangements. As noted last month, the network did not sign a new contract for Emeril Lagasse’s long-running “Emeril Live” last month, and the show stopped taping last week. Another recognizable Food Network name, Mario Batali, left the network in October over a contract dispute."

Well s**t. That is a real shame. Emeril I'm not so fond of but Batali, I really did like.

I saw Batali like yesterday, it looked as if he had a new show too, like the making of a new restaurant.

I hope it's just misinformation.

So I was right... well my chef was right anyway, lol Emril was good in the begining... and I like Mario but its sad he left.

But he has a new show???

I really enjoy watching Iron Chef. Its probably my favorite show on the network.
My favorite Iron Chef is the same in both Iron Chef and Iron Chef America: Masaharu Morimoto!
I loved watching Morimoto. His technique was amazing, and the way he would prepare the dishes and blend unusual flavors was intriguing. Even though I don't think I would have liked eating all of his creations, it was always fun to watch.

And besides his culinary excellence, his personality was very endearing. He was always so humble, and when the announcer would talk to him after a cooking battle, and ask him whether he thought he had won, he would give a little bow and say, "I tried my best."

In my opinion, Iron Chef Japan is better.
I don't watch the Bobby Flay crap. stare
The older one is what I grew up with, so I'm more familiar with it than the new one.

eh...I think both have their positives and negatives. Both have 2 really crappy chefs who've never really done anything innovative with their respective cuisines - Bobby Flay and Mahsahiku Kobe. I'm not saying they're bad or their food is bad, on the contrary it's pretty tasty. But, you look at what Mario's done or Cat or Sakai...and those two start to look less and less like culinary giants.

Now, if I could just see...I dunno...Eric Ripert, Daniel Boulud, Tom Colicchio, Hubert or Thomas Keller on there...I think I'd be happy.
