I was just wondering what everyone's tradition was cause I had some info from a few differnt ones. lol. I was also wondering if there were any Celts here. I wanted to follow the family trad, but have no one to ask. My mother refuses to even admit her mother did magick at all. Pitiful really...

I can't say I'm a Celt..O.o And I'm not sure if I follow any major traditions that I've read about.
I believe strongly in being able to speak your mind and follow your own religion your own way. Not saying: "Go out there and make a religion so that people can worship you!" but you can take it that way if you want. ^_^ I believe that you should be able to be relaxed about your religion..I also believe that there is no "right or wrong" path in life and that whatever you choose is yours to keep and cherish, or keep and hate.
I'm kind of eager to hear what everyone has to say to this thread, because this has turned out to be a not-so-serious guild.. ^_^ Not that it's bad. It's good to be relaxed about your religion, like I said.
Oh and I'm sorry if anything I type seems long-winded..I tend to be like that in person too..XD

lol. i get where youre coming from. Most pagans I meet are very big on dedicating yourself to a certian sect. So i was curious to find out if people here were the same. But then again, i posted this before i found out this was a very lax guild.lol

Yuh we are pretty chill and the captain is realleh busy with skool. I wish she would give SOMEONE a crew spot or sumthin. I guess I should tell her she has active members and needs to recruit crew or sumthin. I will l8er if I remember. If someone wants to send a p/m and remind me that would be nice.

yea, i get where she's coming from. Once I start college in Jan I won't have any time at all... But she still could get on for the time it would take to make the crew. Oh well...I hate to say it but this just may end up a dead guild

Well I did call her about it & let her know. But her NOR anyone else I know from skool has been on. Well okis Lilymoonracer is on and that's kewl. But the one we call Wax dun count. Cuz...Ehh I'd better not talk smack. He ain't in this guild anyways...

If you're asking what slant my practice takes, it's something of a mix of Wicca and Asatru. I know that seems fairly impossible, but it works wink

I know that seems fairly impossible, but it works wink Impossible? How? I dated an Asatru once. They are highly capable of being Wiccan. The only difference between Paganism and Wicca is simple. Wicca plays only nice, no bad stuffs. Where as Paganism, well... it's open for all sorts. I have to say I'm Pagan because I can't see how one can Heal without first learing how to Curse. I mean, how would you know how to reverse it, or anything like that and know for sure it works, unless you've done it before? But as I was saying, your tradition has nothing to do with your Coven. I was apart of his Coven and I'm, well... all over lol. Your coven is simply a group of people that share your tradition.

I'm not privy to actual Wiccan oath-bound information, so I'm not too sure what you mean by playing nice... Certainly Wicca is as much concerned with the Death part of the mysteries as it is with Birth and Sex. I use the term Pagan because there's no specific Pagan religion that equates to my beliefs. Unfortunate, really, as "Pagan" isn't particularly indicative of one's path. Wicca is Pagan, Kemeticism, is Pagan, Hellenismos, Santeria can be included, etc etc....

It's interesting to think how many different traditions there are. It's possible to mix almost any religious choice with another. The only one that doesn't quite work as well as the others is Satanism. But I'm baptized Mormon, although I don't practice it. I claim Wiccan due to the beliefs, but I haven't had even one chance to practice in it. I've gone straight from living at home where my mom is a little iffy about it, to living in a dorm that doesn't allow candles. I don't know any alternatives. This is partly why I started this Guild. Shannigans, I think you should be my crew member. Although you don't (seemingly) post much, hou post enough to my liking, and you keep on subject. I'll promote you tonight.

Wicca can be as many of the same sects as the pagan religions. You can be any other pagan trad and be wiccan. Wicca is the part of it that refuses to use, for lack of better terms, the dark side of the craft. However I find it quite impossible to have only one half as most magick is grey and can be put both ways. If you do a good thing for one person, who's to say that same good act won't be bad for another? Also, I just don't find one able to practice a one-sided religion as every yin comes with a yang. Was that put any better?

It's a bit harder to do that than you think, though. My school would take my candles away if they saw them out. And then, there's the curfew problem. We're only allowed outside of the school a certain amount of hours in the day. Finding a park is hard, since we live in a neighborhood that is surrounded by gangs. I'm waiting to practice until I get out of school. Shouldn't be too long now, I've got until March. I do thank you for the advice, but I don't feel comfortable anywhere in this place right now.
