Okay. Right. Two things to clear up.
I've never had to scream/rant/argue/complain/wish to toss my PC through the window when it didn't do anything wrong before, so bare with me.
About this explicit thing. I figured I'd give my own opinions on the matter:
1. That sort of thing is everywhere. Most people have a myspace. Most people have seen it, heard it, and passed on that sort of thing to others. And if they haven't then usually they're sensible enough to stop reading or look the other way.
2. WTF. This guild is supposed to be about freedom. Sure, I understand that restrictions are wanted, and guidelines, and ToS-ness. But the fact of the matter is, that we're not going to get parents screaming at us for it. Gaia will.
3. I have no problem with it. I know it's not exactly the sort of thing that I or a lot of people want to read, but I know that it's just text on a screen. It's not like there's visuals is there?
4. If visual images of that sort of nature appear, I can assure you, I wont just be banning said person. neutral
5. This guild STILL belongs to Matt. And as I know that he's not the sort that would go and post visual sort of imagary and such, and would apologise if he did - I'm sure he's more or less the type of person that would actually post strange things like that in writing. And since this is his guild, anything that he would want to be able to do must be allowed. I know that sounds flawed, and I know it sounds wierd, but it's the case. I mean, what kind of person would I be if I didn't carry out what I said I'd do? (Besides...the Muse back history has enough so-called "explicit" stuff in it, it's hard to go and say that we need to degrade ourselves by pasting random warnings over things) Although I see the logic behind it, it's a little offputting...and people may feel embarassed that they have to do that. The guild is about fun and enjoying discussions. Not restrictions. We're not a bloody police state.
And I am certain that as Captain, I'm doing the right thing here. Besides, as I said, keep Matt in mind. I just want things the way they were when we all were happy. Alright?
Right, the second thing I have to say. I'm a colour freak, so I've been considering this new system sort of thing. You know, because I like to organise things. It seems like a ridiculous idea, but I've forever wondered what things would be like if we colour coded our posts for some reason. Anyhow, I'm thinking about how I could incorporate that somewhere. I might not make anything of it. Just thought it was worth mentioning.
