Will you find me a blue rose? After two months I'm going to tell my parents that I want to be a vegetarian. I'm going to do it this friday. I told my boyfriend that I would do it by th end of the month, and what better day than International Hug a Vegetarian Day. Wish me luck. Hopefully my parents won't freak to much. Although my mom will freak either way...

Will you find me a blue rose? I did it. I didn't go to bad, but my mom did laugh at me, and then at dinner said, "ok. You can be a vegetarian, but you need to eat some meat loaf." I have to learn how to cook my own food now though.

I have to say, the response you got is definitely not the worst! I'd be pretty happy with that. As your mom sees how serious you are, I bet she'll become more supportive. It might take a while, but hang in there ~.^ As for cooking your own food, I'd start here: http://www.cok.net/lit/recipes/That's where I started, and it helped me a lot. Good luck!

It's really awesome that you decided to do that on your own! xd I suggest that if there's any veg potlucks in your area, that you go to one. They're really awesome and the food's all vegatarian and vegan...

[[blunt.object]] luckily, when cooking veg*an food you don't have to worry about poisoning yourself if its undercooked surprised ...like the pizza I made yesterday. I'm sure I would be reeeally sick right now if I hadn't used mock pepperoni. xp

It's good that your family will support you at least insofar as buying things that you can eat. I tried to go vegetarian in high school and my parents laughed, ordered pizza and promptly didn't add anything I wanted to the list of groceries. So I had iceberg lettuce condensed milk and cheese and potatoes. I'm sure that if I'd gone on a hunger strike my parents might have helped a little but I eventually capitulated. ._.

Good luck! ^ ^
Do some research online about health benefits and show it to your parents. Also, anyone with a heart will be affected by images or video of meat animals...
