They are called "Transitions"
The names are in the third book "Road of the Patriarch" of the Sellswords Series.

Crazy...he's got a website and theres a form he gets on occasionaly. Haven't got to talk to him yet although I read somewhere that he won't be on until the summer though. *tear* I asked for the new books for my birthday that was a couple of weeks ago ((17 now ^^)) sadly I never got them. But I did get a graphics tablet so I guess it makes up.
