Doctor Who episode... II, series III of the new series. Or is it III of III? Well, either way, that's the title, and you can watch it on Youtube, even if you have no idea what Doctor Who is (shame on you), but I won't provide a link because it's copyright and I don't want to BBC after me and sueing. >3<
Shakespeare was HANDSOME. xD
I wish they'd had Richard Armitage play him, but he's already been Monet (and that guy in Robin Hood whose name I can't remember) so that's enough historical figures for now, thanks very much.
The story follows three witches (ugly = evil, in Elizabethan/Jacobean times, of course) who get stuck in Shakespeare's era (actually, sorry, they're not witches, they're a primitive bloodthirsty sisterhood of aliens, ANYWAY...) and manipulate him through the words of "Love's Labours Won" (LOST PLAY OHMYGOSH) and the building of the Globe to open up a portal to let their sisters through...
Supposedly inspiration for the Witches.
Brilliant moments for me include ("SHUT YOUR MOUTHS!" - sorry! xDD), Bedlam (if only because it helped me win a crossword - and why is there so much of Bedlam/St Albert's - is it? - in Doctor Who, musing out loud), "...And fifty scholars just punched the air" when Shakespeare flirts with the Doctor ("The world's in danger and you're FLIRTING! We can get back to this later..." "Is that a promise, Doctor?" "..." or words to that effect)... THE POWER OF WORDS. And the Sycorax... "I think I'll use that." "You're welcome to it."
Worst bit... Shakespeare reciting 18 to Martha as his "Dark Lady". I like the little touch of her as the Dark Lady, but not 18! That was for the Fair Youth. A MAN. Gee, Russel, you of all people would LOVE to get away with that, considering Jack, and everything, GEE! Shame it's the only really well-known sonnet...
Mmm, my fan splurge is over. xD
Anyone else?
