Okay, you've done it. You've pushed them to the brink, and they can't take any more. Or maybe not, but let's just pretend.
So the question is this.
If your character caught the emo virus and decided to kill themselves, how would they do it?

I wouldn't want to be a bother... I don't know... maybe jumping off a cliff, that's so romantic... heart
Aeru would slit his wrists, intentionally get blood all over the place, and face death with bared teeth. (I didn't say that. Ysabell did. sweatdrop )
Chris... let's see... I think... I think he'd use a gun. In front of someone, to make a point.
Moelle would definitely use her sword. Isn't there something they used to do in Japan... oh, I forget what it's called. Anyway, she'd probably do that.
Iarandan (not me, the queen princess)... poison. A real poison, too, not ODing on something.
And Vierad would use illegal drugs. I don't know which, I don't know how... but... that's like him.
This is so morbid! I don't know why Ysabell made me do it... maybe she just didn't want it to look like a double post...

Now, one of my characters actually does attempt suicide. He looks like the stereotypical emo, but his character development is enough to get him out of this, so his suicide is a bit of a surprise. He takes all the pills in his mother's medical cabinet, sticks them in a blender with some bleach, rat poison, that kind of stuff, and lots and lots of yogurt, and then drinks it. He sort of... foams, and then passes out. And Fubuki's first son, Tochi, shot himself and then jumped into a frozen lake. He's a kitsune - he needed to use the most pain possible if he wanted to die.
Shigure would stand in front of a train in the subway, I'm pretty sure. Or else, seppaku (btw, that's the "something they used to do in Japan", I'd guess, also known as harikari but I tend not to use that, as while seppaku means 'ritual suicide' and has respect connected to it, harikari is 'belly cutting' and is considered quite vulgar. It consists of stabbing yourself in the gut with a wakizashi or tanto, bringing the blade across and up, and then someone else cuts your head off.)
Sphinx would throw himself off of the bell tower he lives on - he's done it twice before, so I can't see why he wouldn't again.
None of them are very... wrist-slitty, or anything normal like that. Perhaps that's me - I personally would sell my soul for eternal life without thinking twice, as that's the one thing I want. I had a big long think about it, actually, and... there isn't a lot I wouldn't do to live forever. So my characters tend to take a fatalistic attitude to death, as seen above: Once you've jumped, once the train is coming, once you've swallowed, there is no going back. Whereas it's much harder to drag the razor right across your wrist (and there's also no guarantee that you'll die. I know two people who slit their wrists - the worst kind of scars, believe me - and... well, they're both still alive).

Drazora tried, and eventually did: After Eclipse died, he either burned himself alive or died of smoke inhalation. The bodies are too utterly destroyed to tell.
Symira would choose death by sex. It's just like him.

Johannes, Brad, and Rudiger would let themselves fall to enemy fire without putting up a fight. They aren't even remotely likely to commit suicide, though. xd Especially Rudiger, since he has a family waiting for him back at home, and he won't be selfish enough to willingly leave them without a father and a husband.
I've actually thought about suicide for one or two of my characters, though, but I ruled it out for the main character because it's slightly ... undramatic. Though, now that I think about it again, "officer's suicide" was actually common amongst the Nazi officers at the end of the war. Even Erwin Rommel, a prominent general, choose "officer's suicide" to save his family and escape public torture and execution at the hands of the Third Reich (for treason), and soon after, the Allies.
So, if I did choose suicide for my MC officer, it would either be a shot to the head (or two, since he has strong endurance), an overdose of morphine, or throwing himself off a bridge and drowning. He'd only kill himself with fire if he just felt that everything he did was screwed up and firmly believed he deserved the pain, since not only does he have an impossibly strong phobia of fire, but it's also what ruined his childhood by burning down his hometown and killing all of his immediate family. Or rather, the people that deliberately set the town on fire was the cause ... but you get the point. xd So even setting the fire to kill himself would be hard, but if pressed so much by hopelessness and remorse... it's likely that he'd want to suffer. The more excruciatingly painful the death is to him, in that case, the better. Though, the most plausible and possible choice for suicide would be a shot to the head.
My MC did try to commit suicide, though. So far, it's only one time. It was when his emotional instability got a hold of him towards the end of the novel, when the last person he trusted in [his fiancee], sent him a letter telling him what a monster he was and that she wanted nothing to do with him anymore. To add insult to injury, he learns [incorrectly] that she committed suicide. And so, driven off the edge by this, he lapses into a vicious cycle of intense and violent anger, then apathy, then depression. And basically, though he's chained and beaten senseless and/or drugged by his captors so he can't do anything, he tries smashing himself against the bars of his cell or bash his head against the wall enough times to kill himself. Ouch. But this is tentative -- most likely he will make an attempt, but the circumstances and the way he goes about trying will probably be different as I get my thoughts together.
Schneider and Austin are too proud to commit suicide. And they're the ones that really need to. *shot*
Ralph would shoot himself... Or just lose the will to live and stop fighting in the middle of a battle. It's unlikely he'd commit suicide, though.
And Ruprecht ... I'm not really sure, but I don't think it's likely that he'll commit suicide, either. I haven't developed him enough. He'd probably go the "officer's way" and shoot himself, though, or if he was completely outnumbered and hopeless in a dogfight, he'd just go kamikaze and kill himself while taking down the enemy.

Nathan would most definitely overdose on something, be it painkillers, drugs, or booze, though I understand it's harder to drink yourself to death than just OD on a drug. I can't really see that he would ever want to kill himself, though, since he's surprisingly resiliant when it comes to emotional shock. Unless his guilt at the end of the story wound up getting the better of him.
Vitae would want a no-nonsense, surefire way to die, so my guess would be poison, or possibly hanging. His reason would either be sheer loneliness, hopelessness, or not wanting to suffer the throes of his lung condition once it catches up with him. Or, again, not being able to live down what happens toward the end of the story.
Jericho would throw himself off a very tall building, and wonder on the way down just how thinly he'll be spread when he hits. Jericho suicide is unlikely, though.
Yinda wouldn't want to kill herself either. If she did, she'd probably find someone who loved her enough to kill her, ala Big-a** Rock. Vitae would probably do it for her if Yinda's reasons were sound enough.
Sabine...Lord, I dunno. She'd probably poison herself, too. She would have had to have screwed up one of her patients pretty badly, though, to want to commit suicide.

I can't imagine Janus ever wanting to commit suicide, just because she's so stubborn, and I really can't figure out a stretch that would cause her to. Despite readily available drugs I don't see her as an overdose person -- that'd be a "wimp" suicide -- so I'm thinking one final cigarette, then a shot to the head.
Arcisan would probably go with a shot to the head, too, but he'd want to, say, surprise himself, and would basically load the gun for Russian roulette, then fire and wait until he hit the one that killed him. He'd be most likely to kill himself if something business-related went horribly wrong (i.e.: people died, he ruined something really important, etc.), just because he couldn't live with the shame. Plus, if something went really bad in his line of work, someone would probably assassinate him on principle anyways. He'd just be beating them to it.
Iris ... urr. Probably poison or overdose. She'd take whatever and then sit and wait for it.
Ania would just overdose and be done with it. It'd be over something horribly petty, too, like a boyfriend breaking up with her. She'd definitely leave a note.
Leon wouldn't want to inconvenience anyone with a mess, so I'm thinking taking a long, aimless walk and then jumping off of a bridge. He's kind of emo to begin with, so I can maybe see a suicide on his part if he got really, really lonely. Probably not, but still.
If Victor suicided, she'd get Leon to do it, and would probably go with a poison that merits a painless sort of death, and just kind of chill with him until she died.
Jimmy would bash his head into a wall like a hardcore mofo. While smoking a cigarette and wearing sunglasses.

Karatael, although not like him to commit suicide, is probably the only one of my characters who might. He'd do it by jumping off a bridge in a way that would break every bone on the way down into the water, and then he'd drown.
Side Note: Only have two characters I use frequently.

In the verrrryy first story "Kenna" appeared in, she did actually kill herself. (She was a very different character back then.)
I think in that story she shot herself. I'd still have to say that's how she'd do it. Either that jump off a cliff. I think she'd just write goodbye on a napkin or something and leave it at the "Orchid"'s, but not a full blown note.
"Jesse" would never, ever, EVER even CONSIDER killing himself, not after "Jake".
But if he did, he'd probably just OD and sit in a corner somewhere reading until he died.
"Beyrl" would either OD or hang herself. She'd leave a note.
"Miles" is another one who wouldn't kill himself, but he'd probably hang himself too. He'd write 'sorry' on the wall or something, I bet. The only time he'd kill himself though would be if "Beyrl" left him and something in his life went baaad. I mean, he wouldn't kill himself because she left, but if she ever did he wouldn't have anybody anymore. So if he screwed up majorly, he'd quietly go home and die. sweatdrop
"Jake" actually attempted to. Twice. First by slitting his wrists, (didn't work) and later by shooting himself ("Jesse" caught him first).
Now, though, he'd never try again. But for the purpose of this post, he'd probably try shooting himself again.
"McDermott" would shoot himself, no doubt in my mind. He's a police officer (more or less, in his world), so it would be easy.
"Joeseph" would slit his wrists. I'd make him. That guy's a piece of work, he'd go out dramatically.
"Mikey" would OD from all the stuff he has from where he works.

Sam attempts it. She has her pet viper bite her. She was thinking about stabbing herself with a dagger though.
If there were guns, Luke would shoot himself.

I doubt they would but if they did.....
Joshua would ingest something that'd kill him. Very easily done, without suspicion to people that don't know him, in his case.
James....would probably just lie in traffic during rush hour and go to sleep and wait. Most people wouldn't know how to 'say' anything to him so he'd just be there and...yeh.
Matthew would most likely do it after Gee*/Joshua/James killed themselves. Gee* and Joshua count more though, particularly Gee. I don't think he'd jump because...there's still going back...I mean, he can swim so...I dunno...he might leave a note but if he did, it would take forever to find the damn thing. If he did kill himself, I reckon he'd just stab himself in the heart, but it would be a symbolic 'Now, my heart's literally broken' thing. Matt probably would close his eyes as he did it.
Thomas would stab himself in the heart too but eyes open. He wouldn't leave a note. He'd go to a friend's house to do it though.
That's all I can think of for now.
*Gee = Not my character. Matt's boyfriend.

I have a character Traci, who kills himself by drinking draino (and not stopping untill his whole face is practicly desolved from drooling it).
Markey comes close to jumping off a building, and his mother kills herself by taking an od of sleeping pills.

I'll do this for my current story, and for all the main caracters too!
Patrick: He wouldn't want it to hurt too much, so he'ld just get arrested for a crime where the punishment is beheading. None of that hanging stuff like if you kill somebody.
Prince Frederick Boheme: He's royal, so he'ld probably do something manly like fall on his sword. rolleyes
Princess Jessica Wonka Pennis: She would have The Royal Alchemist make her a delicious poisonously poisonous poison that would be her undoing.
The Royal Alchemist is never named in my story, but he'ld probably do something similar to Jessica, except with more carbonation and less yogurt. dramallama
King Willy Wonka Pennis is more of a bit character, since he appears for only one chapter, but he'ld go invade some other country with about 300 of his worst soldiers and then get "lost."
The Royal Messenger (who's also unnamed) would choose to tell all the royal secrets he knows to the commoners. Execution would be swift, plus he'ld have the satisfaction of telling off his bosses.

I hate to say it, but I have pushed a character to their breaking point...O_O
~Alison: Cliff, duh, sense she kind of did. O_o"
~Austin: (If guns were there..) Uhm, I'd have to say a gun, out alone in the woods where no one would find him, so then no one would know if he was dead or not. -_-" (Austin you idiot.)
~Ab'deal: Probably a knife...to the stomach, so she could lie their and bleed to death to think about her past mistakes...Then realize, just before she died, her longing for life...
~Britteny: Lord...0.o She would most likely try to get someone to do it for her, but when they couldn't, she would run away, then catch herself on fire, so she could feel what happened to her mom, sense she blamed herself for what happened. -_- (She IS the idiot...)
Only one has happened....
