" Wakey, wakey," said the small girl as she jumped up and down on the old wooden bed. her short golden locks bounced about her sholders as she came to rest by the lump under the covers. "Wake up sleepy head, the sun has come out to play," giggled the little girl as she poked at the now moving lump.

"Go away Marisol," yawned the lump under the covers.

"But sissy," huffed the little girl as she dodged the swatting hand that disappeared back under the covers, "mommy said its time to get up."

"And exactly what time of day has it come to be," came the voice agin.

"Almost sun-high," said the small girl with a smile.

" WHAT," screamed the voice as the covers erupted up into the air and fell like a tidlewave on top of the small girl. she giggled as she pulled back the cover to watch her older sister dash about the room.

"Why didn't you come sooner Marisol. Now i'm going to be late agin," yelled the older girl as she pulled a light blue dress ovr her head and down along her body.

"I'm sorry Eva," whimperd Marisol.

"Marisol," replied the older girl as she pulled on her left shoe,"oh Marisol, don't do that." she slipped on the right shoe and walked over to the bed. Sitting down on the bed, she placed the young Marisol on her lap. She looked deep into the young girls eyes for a short time before sying anything."I'm sorry little one. I have no right to yell at you like that." she kissed the young girl on the forehead as she draped her arms around her.

"Evangeline," said the little girl as she looked at her sister.

"Yes Marisol," questioned Evangeline as she losend her hold on the small girl.

"Will you always be here with me," said Marisol with a serious tone of voice.

Evangeline watched the expressionon her little sisters face.It amused her how such a young child could seem so much older at times. She found it interesting how the words of a small child could mean more than those of the oldest and wisest of people. Evangeline looked down into Marisols eyes and was about to answer her when a voice rang out from somewere beyond the wooden door.

"Evangeline,.... if you don't heary up, Marthas going to find herself a new cleaning girl," came a womens voice from down stairs.

"Yes mama," said Evangeline as she sat Marisol back on the bed. She got up and walked over to a broken mirror that was hung on the wall. Fter running her fingers through her hair, Evangeline began to brade her hair.

Marisol, who had not heard the answer that she wanted, jumped up from the bed and through her arms around Evangelines waist. "Please say you'll stay forever," she said looking up at Evangeline who was noe looking down at her.

"You know that i can't do that," replied Evangeline as she took Marisol's hand and led her through the doorway. They walked together down the short hallway lined with doors. Two of which led to their own rooms and the others that belonged to their older brothers Kegon, Markas, and Juria.

Kegon and Markus, formaly known as the twins are the most mischievous boys in the whole city of Mayumi. They are always getting into all kinds of trouble. dancing around like they thought they were kings and the whole world was their kingdom. Most of the time they are ploting some kind of trouble and they always have somthing up their sleves.

Juria, the oldest of the five, is quite the opposite. many years ago it was left up to him to take care of the family while their father went off to fight in the kings war aginst the Vindorians. It had only been their mother and him at the time. When their father returned, he told Juria storys about the war, including some about the knights he had fought with. He told him how everyone respected the knights and looked up to them. this had inspierd Juria and when he was eleven he had went to live with a lord and a lady in a neighboring villiage. No one has heared from him in many years.

The bottom of the staircase opens up into a giant room. most of which is takein up by the kitchen but has a small sitting area in one corner. Evangeline leeds Marisol acrost the room to the table by the front window. she then turns and takes an aprine from a hook on the wall. tieing it arround her wasit she heads for the door. " I'll try not to be to late to day," she said to her mother as she opened the door.

"Alright, remember to ask martha for tomorrow off," said the women who was betting at a ball of dough on the counter.

"I will," replied Evangeline as she walked out. she closed the door behind her and started off down the long dirt road. She looked at each of the small houses that borderd the small road on the outscurts of town. Each one had its oun little somthing about it. she got lost in a thought about hoses for a moment before remembering that she was already late.

she started off at a joge as she passed a man who was loading straw into the back off a wagin. Slowly she began to pick up speed as she ran past the growing number of people. shortly the land became more populated with buildings of all sizes. she came to full speed just as she went through the iner city wall. Causiuse not to hit anyone, she weaved between the people as she ran in the direction of the very center of the city.

Halfway there she was stopped along with many others in the middle of the road. a horse had fallen and was having trouble getting back up. it had alread drown a big crowd that had blocked all trafic coming and going. Eva looked around for any way to get around this mess. The sulotion came to her in the form of an alieway.

Evangeline stepped around a tall man in green and darted off down the dark ally, making sure to keep an eye out for danger. Half way down the ally she took a left down a side path. she quickly walked past an old man sitting in a door way covered with a raged blanket.

From were she was, Evangeline could see a bericade at the end of the ally just as it opens up into the street. "I can jump that," she thought to herself as she took off running. the closer she got to the street the louder the nouse got. the music from the band on the corner filled her ears as she reach the bericade. Placing her hands on the wooden form she jumped and twisted her body sideways over the bericade. She landed furmly on the other side without a scratch.

Evangeline stood up from her crouching position and ran around the corner of the building to only be stopped dead in her tracks. A blow from the front caused her to fly back, landing on her a** in the dirt. She looked up to see whom it was she had run into but insted found herself temperarly blinded by the sun. Evangeline sat there umungst the crowed of the people rubing her eyes as rosted peanuts fell down on her head like rain.

Dark and wet the night was cool much to cool for Katcey as she tried her best to find help or one survivor amongst the wreckage of the cars.
It had all happened so fast she was sitting in the car listening to one of her favorite Gackt songs when a fast moving hot rod swerved into their lane her mother tried to stop but it was too late
They collided and swerved the two cars eating away at each other as they became a tangled mess.
Then they hit the wall and bounced over to the safety rail their impact was so strong that they broke thru in one hit.

MOM!! MOM!!!
Where are you!!! Her screams were answered only by the roar of the fire that burned all around her.
Soon sirens were heard and fire trucks pulled up. Katcey was in such a daze that she didn’t even notice a pair of yellow arms pull her off the ground and place her onto a stretcher then into the back of an ambulance.





FIVE YEARS LATTER

Mellon Pink hair caught in the brisk spring time air tussled all about the 16 year old girl as she placed roses on the alter in font of her mother and fathers graves it was her birthday and she wanted them to know she was ok.

Hey mom, dad. It’s me again, she whispered
I just wanted to let you know that I’m doing ok and that I’m starting my second year of junior high school today at TentTipsa.

A new breeze whorled around, this time it was warm and played with her long bangs and the two curly tentacles on either side of her face Katcey smirked at this and let a smile spread across her face her greenblue eyes lighting up as she screamed Bunzi before bowing at the graves and running off towards her new school.

Katcey stood at the front of her new school watching all the other students go in smiling and laughing some were even roughhousing.

The boys were wearing completely black blazers and slacks with white shirts under them, while the girls wore their choice of ankle or knee high black skirts with Wight shirts adorned with crimson ribbons around their neck.
Yo!!! Girl! Move it or lose it!
Oh I’m sorry Katcey whispered and turned to face a boy with brown cropped hair standing their glaring at her along with the rest of his friends who stood behind him.

Yeh if you keep standing there your going to be late newbie so move already a girl snapped hotly.

With a small nod Katcey quickly moved to the side and let the group pass her by



Damn jerks they just wanted to start trouble with me Katcey hissed to herself
All the other people went thru at the center or climbed the wall for fun but they came over just to be mean.

By the end of the day Katcey was in tears the day had been tearbul the people had picked and nagged all day long about her hair color and ethnicity but that wasn’t the worst of it all she thought to herself as she sobbed into her knees while sitting on a park bench ,the worst part was when the teacher tried to be nice and wish her a happy birthday and would of succeeded if not for a rowdy group of people that heard and decided to at lunch throw her a surprise bash complete with a face full of meatloaf and bean casserole down her back.

She had been humiliated bye complete strangers and now she was lost in the city as well seeing as she had only just temporarily moved that morning to a new orphanage after her old one burned down.

Jaganishi Hiei slept soundly in a tree, in the park well at lest he had been until the sobs of someone down below woke him.

Oh what now he gowned and rubbed his eyes then turned to see below him.
On the bench below him sat a girl with thick long melon pink hair down to her knees she was covered in something that looked like meat souse and beans!?
She was crying so hared it almost reached Hiei’s heart for some strange reason.

Then again if he were a stupid human girl sitting on a bench covered in what he now guessed to be the dreaded goop called school food(well that’s what Yusuke Urameshi always described it as )he would be crying to.
Oh well Hiei shrugged and stood up on the branch, it’s not my problem he thought and decided to leave.
Just as he made to jump he heard a loud scream from the girl and then a group of people laughing, what’s wrong kitty kitty doesn’t you like the birthday present we gave you today.
