Have you noticed that included in this guild there are Greek myths, and myths from all around Europe, but no Norse ones? Completely unacceptable! What do you people have against Northerners, huh? Loki, Odin, Thor, and all the others will not be pleased.
As Loki's official spokesperson, I would first like to shake your hand. *Joy buzzer goes off.* Now that that's over I can inform you of the joys of Norsedom. Loki is the god of mischief, and totally pwns faces. You can never tell if he's really on your side or not, but what's the fun of life if you don't take risks?
Norse mythology states that in the beginning there was a region of water and a region of fire, where these places met there was a lot of steam. Out of this steam, the forerunners of giants and gods were created. There was a big war, the great gods won, created the world out of the corps of the first god, and created everything else on it. The giants still live off in the land of ice, and they still fight each other a lot.
Keep in mind this is the summarized version off the top of my head, so I might have got some things wrong. Anyway, this is a thread for those who support the Norse Gods and vikings. Feel free to scream a a lot, hit each other with swords, eat, drink, and wear helmets with horns on them. Anyone who pledges allegiance to Loki gets a free Joy Buzzer.

There's no Asgard here? RAAAURGH! Who's in charge here? They shall taste my steel...
Oh, wait. That's me.
I was going to wait a week to put up the "what should our next subforum be?" poll, but I guess those pesky Vikings jumped the gun. smile It shouldn't take too long to amass the plunder, though. In the meantime, carry on.
Er... RAH! domokun

Soon, we shall have a land of our own! And then we can go around trying to take away everyone else's! Yay! Until then... *Runs around brandishing a broadsword* My avatar is rather fitting for this, isn't it?

Most excellent. 3nodding
Are you intending this thread to be more serious or more silly? I could move it to the Main Forum if you'd like, and if you wouldn't have a problem with staying more or less on topic.

More silly. I'm not much into the whole serious thing, especially when it comes to vikings. I created it mostly to have a place to go on about oppression and discrimination, and how just because we've burned down a few towns and stolen all their stuff they think we're all vicious and bloodthirsty, which isn't true, we're just mostly vicious and bloodthirsty.
Though I guess you actually adding the Norse gods kind of ruins that plan. That's ok, though. Because we can find ways to say we're oppressed no matter how good we're treated.

That works. The Official Rant-and-Complain-at-all-costs thread. 3nodding
Heh heh. Honestly, we're only mostly vicious and bloodthirsty.

By giving us a subforum and not allowing us to go on about how we're oppressed, you are violating our first-ammendment right to petition! Also, you are oppressing us by not posting in the thread about my novel for several days. Lastly, the color you've painted these walls is just awful. I mean, beige? Come on!

Aren't you forgetting discovering North America? Stupid Columbus gets all the credit.... Your sword is quite fierce xd

Oh, yeah! Thanks for reminding me! We discovered North America hundreds of years before Columbus did! There shouldn't be a Columbus Day, there should be a Viking Day!

Well, you didn't exactly build successful colonies, did you? You all just died out or assimilated into the native culture.
I'm trying to keep up with all the threads, but I'm worried if I don't hang in other places in Gaia I won't find new members and the guild will die. (If you know anyone who might be interested, please let me know and I'll send them an invite.)

Columbus didn't build any successful colonies either! The one he made died off pretty quick. Besides, this is about the discover of the Americas, not the settling of it.
Pretty much all my friends on Gaia are already a memeber. sweatdrop I don't go to many different places.

I would like to file a complaint about a lack of things to complain about.
I have a couple friends that might be interested. Would you like me to contact them?

Yes, please!
Feegle - Yeah, well, the people who did make successful colonies felt like they owed more to Columbus than to Erik the Red and Leif Erikson and all those guys. So there. cool
Although I would not mind an Erik Day myself.

There should be an Erik Day. Vikings are so unappreciated. And all because they looted and pillaged a few medieval monasteries. Big deal - there were too many of the stupid things anyway.

By 'settling' we really mean 'taking over'. The people who really discovered the Americas are the Native Americans, we just came and pushed them out of their land. But still, from a European standpoint, The Vikings discovered America.
We should just start celebrating Erik Day. Maybe it'll catch on.
