my brother / best friend / ex boyfriend is gay. and through everything weve been there. but hes scared of leaving high school and not being acccepted. ive held him while hes cried, ive told him the truth. it is a hard way of life. but dont change who ytou are. for anybody no matter what. i want to know is if telling him the truth was the right thing and also how i can help this blow when he reaches the real world. being that i am mostly a lesbien he asked me what its like. but i know lesbiens are more accepted them gays. what should i do?

Right... if he doesn't want to move to Europe (more easygoing), then I guess he has to deal with whatever comes on his way. It's up for him to decide whether he cares about people who flame at him or not. I can understand you americans are in a more difficult position, the gouvernement is not at your side really..
Other then the political matter, give him a million reasons to love himself. That way he might build up more confidence to face 'your world'.
