WOW that was creepy! I've been sooo anticipating this movie, for a second I was like "Hei, did I create that topic?... OH WAIT!" So, yes. I'M SO PSYCHED. has anyone seen other versions of sweeney todd with George Hearn or so? he's FANTASTIC. the songs are actually really hard, plenty of intense notes; i think Johnny won't be doing the purest almost operatic version, cuz he only just started singing. nonetheless, i think he'll be real good, just totally different from Hearn. same with bonham-carter, not nearly as much expertise as patti lupone or angela lansbury, who've both sung the role.
in short, they aren't professional singers... and i sing myself, so i'm not too psyched for them singing themselves because i absolutely love the most professional way (which is most about volume and control), whereas for the movie these guys, as newbies, will be going much softer and more for effect and emotion.
and i hear the guy that's playing the romantic lead is tres hot. biggrin hope he can sing though. that's also a super hard tenor part (tenor?)
but PSYCHED! yes!

I KNOW!
So my friend saw it on Broadway a year or so ago and he ranted and raved about it for God knows how long. Unfortunately, I can't get tickets to Broadway... or even to NYC for that matter. But now... here it is on the big screen. I can't wait to see it.
I agree with Darcy on Johnny's capability to play the role. He's such a good actor, if only he'd been working with voice longer, it would be positively perfect.
But I can't wait. 4laugh

I've still got a few years until I'm legally allowed to see this in theaters without an adult, so I asked my parents if one of them would come, and all I got was: "Well, you can wait a few years, can't you?" ;___________;
THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND MY LOVE FOR ALL THINGS JOHNNY DEPP. <33 parents. pshhh. :waves hand:
I just cannot wait for this movie to come out. <33 the soundtrack is scheduled to come out on the 18th (of December), but that's still not enough ...

I'm worried about this. Jhonny is a fox, we all know that. But... You see... Sweeney isnt.
I'm going to be watching it.... and I will be so torn. This new version of Sweeney is too pretty for my taste. It seems out of character for him to be THAT attractive.

I herd that Depp refused to take any singing lessons for this role, and this is his first time singing for a role.

When I first heard "Sweeney Todd" I thought it was about a baseball player. I don't know why. It just sounds like a baseball player name for some reason. o_o
Then I saw the trailer and I was like omg! And it has Helena Bonham Carter (is that her name) in it too and she looks really neat as Mrs. Lovett! I like her as much as I like Johnny Depp. I think I saw Alan Rickman in it what???
I'll probably go see it, even though the music doesn't sound very good to me. I listened to the original Broadway soundtrack, which I got out of the library, and I didn't like it. It's just not catchy, to me, but I'm not good at music so what do I know?
