In the year 2025 people found out they were not the only sentient species on the planet.

A decision had been made within the complex society of mystic beings. It was time to tell the humans of their existence. Elves were the royalty of the fairy world, as humans would call it, Their rule fell over everyone except the human race. They wished to announce their existence to human kind on their own terms. And so they revealed themselves to the human population, causing world wide panic. In response to this the government put out a segregation plan. The elves were massacred in a spur of the moment thought by the humans to weaken the enemy. And later, after the humans calmed a segregation plan was put into place.
It separated the various species from humans, an effort to protect them from what the government believed was a threat. Vampires, Demons, the Mer; all were forced into the slums of major cities or killed along with their leaders.

They became the minority in only three years.

Several years later humans and creatures found peace. Any fear humans felt towards their new neighbors was put to bay as the continuous patrols through the streets kept down any fights that started. Many creatures were denied schooling or homes, unwanted; many congregated towards one place, a small town on the edge of Europe.

2039, Randale Von Lerati, a vampire, starts a school for every species. He called it Ornin University.

After several years the war between humans and creatures came to be known as the War of the Beasts, a name started by humans that many faire came to use. Many other people called it the Third World War and yet others called it the Apocalypse. No matter what name it went by everyone agreed that it was the end of an era. Up until this point everyone had lived in relative peace and unity.

Now it is to be said that this world is much different from yours and mine, a parallel reality you could say. Horse drawn carts and later magic carpets and broom sticks were as natural to see on the roads as the occasional automobile. Weaponry is a matter of choice, it had advanced much faster than any other technology, so much so that swords are used alongside guns without a second glance. Communication on the other hand was much less developed, telegraphs and mail are the only known forms of talking over distances. Although a few richer members of the community can be found with telephones and cell phones.

Year:2040
In an effort to rid the world of these animals Doctor Kevin Ming, a young and aspiring scientist creates a serum capable of combining human and animal DNA. His actions caused a stir within the kingdom and agents were sent forth to seek the illusive doctor. They found him and initiated a new project they called Requiem, a name chosen by the King to invoke the sorrow of the War of the Beasts caused by the monsters.
Year:2043
Volunteers were accepted and a new group of soldiers was created. They were genetically enhanced, the perfect weapon against the monsters. The hope of humanity.
The project failed. Of the many volunteers a group of twenty were the only survivors
It was put to rest after only a year, the lose of life to much for the people to stand. The government lost faith in Doctor Ming and they lost track of him for several months until the day he returned, with a new formula, one with less consequences. Requiem was reinstated and the project continued, but this time away from the public eye. The military gathered it’s cadets from the around the world, hundreds come to join, many not knowing what they are really there for.
Year:2044
Darwith Military Academy, an elite school for the gifted humans of the world. In truth it is where the human forces gather to build their team to take on the scum of Ornin. The government supports this secret facility entirely, preparing for the inevitable day that they would march into battle against the hoard of monsters. To match the strength of Ornin, genetic experiments are performed on humans, creating unstable hybrids between human and animal or human and faire. These creatures lose almost all memory of their life before their treatments and become the perfect solders. They cannot escape the government for without the drugs they provide the soldiers genetic composition becomes unstable, causing havoc throughout there bodies. The injections were exclusive, Dr. Ming held all rights over them, ensuring that he held the future of the project in his hands.
The cadets all look different, some monstrous in the changes forced upon their bodies, others almost ordinary. Every student walking the halls is an experiment. Bracelets sit on every cadets wrists coded with their genetic information, name, birthdates, and predicted date of death.

Several Months Later…

Finally the soldiers of Darwith have something to fight against. Word of an alliance reaches the ears of the King. A rogue vampire named Randal Von Lerati started has started a school for the monsters, in his words, “A place to teach my people how to survive under our honorable Kings leadership, without harming the lives of humans.” Randal calls his school Ornin University. It is suspected that the vampire may be planning a revolt against the King to free his people. In an effort to keep an eye on the vampire and ensure his plan did not come into play the government requires Randal to report all new additions to the school or he will be shut down without further thought.

Currently

Doctor Ming has infiltrated Ornin, observing what takes place in the halls of the school. As time passes he slowly gains the trust of Randal and slowly tries to find out more of the school and any plans that Randal may be making. However soon Kevin and Randal fall in love and it seems as though Kevin may have lost track of his original plan.

The forces of Darwith continue to train durning this, the abscense of Doctor Ming rarely noticed by the cadets.
