Setara & Lorkhan had made good time & even better, had not been attacked that night. It was mid morning & the two had been travelling for an hour or so. Both were in high spirits, but where even more so when they passed the Inn wherein the Vixie hunt had taken place. Setara recalled that she had not yet claimed her tame creature & fancied that she should go & reclaim it. At this time of morning, the patrons would not have arrived & so the place would be quiet & inoffensive.
Padding carefully inside, Setara walked up to the bar & caught the attention of the barkeep.
"Excuse me sir, I wondered if you still had a certain tame vixie that I was awarded in a hunt a while back. I would have claimed it, but I had to rush off...." She smiles brightly.
"Would I still be able to claim it?" She enquired.

The barkeep looked up with a smile, then seeing it was a nomad the smile turned back into a serious face. Of all the participants he'd wished this one hadn't returned. But she wasn't with her Acolyte friend.
"Of course you can, M'dear" His wife burst in, waving Setara into the backroom with her. "Come along, Come along~!"

Setara had noticed the frown & cringed. She hated when that happened. Though it was not as if people could read her as being unlike her kin. She followed the homely woman into the backroom behind the bar, feeling very uncomfortable with herself. Her posture gave that away easily which was unlike her seeing as much of the time she remained blank. Was she becoming self conscious?

The woman waved Setara towards a mess of cages. The vixies were separated by male and female. But unlike their wild counterparts the tame ones were cutely cooing and snuggling together in their cages. There were about a dozen or so of each gender, all with a variety of colors.
"Go on dear, pick one out! I'll ready a cage for you to take it home in" And the woman bustled off to do so.
((AKA pick what gender and color you want. Need to know fur color, hair/tail color, eye color and wing color. Oh, and if you want it to have any sort of pattern/design in the fur.))

Setara looked over the cages & smiled broadly. They were so very cute! Wild or no, she was taken by the dear little things immediately. She glanced over each cage & let her eyes settle on one in particular. It was a little male with olive green fur & fluffy white hair. He seemed to shrug away from the others & kept to himself in the corner of one cage. On his chest was an odd yellow marking that looked almost like an isignia & his paws were black. Setara stooped down level with the cage & peered in at the little male.
"Hello there little one." She smiled. Setara decided he was perfect & waited for the barkeep's wife to return.
((I'll post a reference for the marking in my next post, dinner calls me XD))

The barkeeps wife, came back toting a little cage and a small bag of what had to be food for the little critter. She was a jolly rounded woman.
"Hello there, Deary! Did you get one picked out?" she went over to the cage and smiled at the little vixies.

Setara pointed to the little one pressed against the cage. He had noticed her attentions & appeared to be watching her.
"He seems in need of a little space." She smiled.
"May I have him please?." Setara asked politely. She had already appeared to cause discomfort in the owner of the tavern, so she decided that rideness was not a good tactic. Though the homely wifemade Setara feel a little more relaxed than she had been.

"Oho!" the wife smile and gently plucked the little vixie out of the community cage, putting him into the smaller cage. She latched the cage shut and handed it along with the food over to Setara.
"They live off of fruits and veggies, and make sure they have lots of water. they love playing in water." She was cheerful as they walked to the front again. The barkeep was busy cleaning glasses, trying to ignore the fact that the nomad was standing right in the open.
"is there anything else we can go for you, Deary?"

Setara shook her head & seemed to shrink back a little, wishing that there were some shadows for her to hide in.
"No thankyou Ma'am, I shan't trouble you any longer." She smiled & curtseyed as she thought it would be nice to do so.
"Thank you both & Have a nice day." She added afore skittering outside, the vixie in her arms with a bemused expression on its face.
Walking outside, Lorkhan noticed that she had a little creature in her arms. He was being usurped! He stamped his hoof in irritation, making the little vixie jump. Setara walked over & nuzzled Lorkhan's neck with her cheek.
"Now now Lorky....he's not going to take your place." she smiled & patted him afore placing the vixie at eye level. The little creature stared back in befuddlement at the gigantic beast before him & uttered a little stifled squeak of fright Lorkhan rolled his eyes & snuffled at the vixie. It was alright he supposed.....so long as it didn't decide to take his Seta from him. He'd squish it flat if the little thing even contemplated it!
Unaware that Lorkhan was plotting Setara smiled & took the little vixie out from under his nose, placing the tiny creature on the front of the saddle. She scrambled up afterwards with much smarting of her arm. She looked at it & let a frown wander across her brow. Parts of it were definately beggining to heal...but others felt irked by even slight movements. She made a mental note as they set off to find Matta again & enquire about it. If not him, then some other healer, it did not matter all that much in the long run.

The little vixie had not liked the brisk canter to the city one bit! In fact, the little animal had insisted on clinging to Setara's neck or face much of the time, resulting in a few scratch marks across Setara's bronzed cheeks. Entering the city gates was no problem for Setara at this time of year. Nomads were often seen coming into the market places in the city to trade their homemade goods for other things. Setara remained on horseback this time round, knowing better to stay out of the wat of the crowd below her & keep her arm from being further irritated. Further on she noted a small stand selling confectionary & bade her mount stop. Lorkhan had noticed the stand also & watched eagerly as Setara made her way over & then her way back with a small bag in hand. Lorkhan's dark eyes lit up with anticipation & he let out an excited whicker of delight as she opened the bag & pulled out one of the tantalisingly scented green orbs.
"Because I love you so Lorky." She giggled as she held out the mint to him & watched the equidyne snatch it up & chew hurriedly. Setara smiled & ruffled his mane afore scrambling up into the saddle again. The vixie watched his new owner & decided that he would like a mint also. Setara guessed what the little one wanted by the way his little yellow eyes flicked from the bag to her face. She giggled & pulled out a mint, giving it to the little vixie. He was wary of it at first, but soon was nibbling & running his little pink tongue over the smooth green sphere, a rather delighted look on his face. Setara smiled & continued on her way, keeping a close eye out for the house where Matta kept his residence.
Upon sighting it, she steered Lorkhan over & dismounted, keeping the little vixie on her shoulder. She knocked tentatively on the sturdy door with her good hand. Had he been able to make his way back?

The shop looked closed. The door was shut with a hasty sign thrown on the handle. but on the second floor of the shop the windows were thrown wide open. Matta sat on the window sill, his back leaned against the frame. He sat staring over the city letting the wind play with his long black hair. He'd contemplated hacking it off to help make him unidentifiable. But then he remembered that if he stayed in the city, the chances of a nomad attacking him were pretty slim. besides... daylight was safe enough...
It was then that the sound of hoofs drew his attention downward to the streets. and he caught sight of Setara. She wasn't brandishing weapons. and she didn't have a torch... not to mention she was alone. He just stared downward, his heart feeling heavy, and a mixture guilt and shame beating down on him.
Maybe she hasn't seen me yet.... he pondered.... but then. if she wanted to berate him for what he did or exact revenge she had every right... So he sat in the window, staring down at her and her equidyne, feeling very unrooted.

"Mr Matta, sir. Are you in?" She called, looking round at her companions when her knock wasn't answered. Lorkhan made a shrugging motion & nudged the door with his muzzle. She ignored the sign & reasoned that it was either a ruse or something scawled in haste. She figured the first for no reason other than it seemed like a good option. Setara leant to one side & peered in one window. She turned to Lorkhan & shrugged.
"Looks like he's not in Lorky. Let's go & get this business of my mother's sorted out & come back later." She said, leading Lorkhan off into the street. Lorkhan gave her a pleading look.
"Lorkhan, theres little I can do about my arm unless he's in. We'll just try & find someone in the trade market who can help with it." She stated primly. The vixie glanced up at Matta & locked gazes with him for a second afore Setara was jostled by someone in the crowd & almost dislodged from his perch. Setara made her way towards the market place where the merchant she had been asked to meet was supposedly waiting for her, being barged & nudged all the way.

Matta sat silently as they knocked... somehow, even though he was in plain view, he'd somehow been missed, except by the little creature he hadn't met yet. Was that a vixie...? But that was besides the point. Setara's arm needed looking at...
"Wait!!" He called out, then quickly clamped his hand over his mouth. He sat stone still in that window, looking down to where Setara and her entourage began mingling with the marketplace crowd, waiting to see if she'd turn around. his brain was wracked... but at least the sun was high and he had full control over his... state.

Setara recognised the calling voice instantly & turned around to face the source, she could see no one in the street & most definately not Matta. Though Setara hadn't been bright enough to look upwards, Lorkhan had & perked ears forward. Lorkhan pulled on the reins & decidedly dragged Setara back to the shop in a semi bemused state.
"Lorkhan...He's not in. We must have just been hearing things!" She inisted with a smile. She was under the impression that he was simply being adamant & trying to make her well again. This was dispelled however, when the little olive colored vixie barked upwards at Matta in a manner similar to a dog barking at a postman. Setara tried to shush him at first, but upon looking up & expecting to find a bird of sorts, she saw Matta. The nomad quirked an eyebrow & waved with her good arm in an unsure greeting.
"Begging your pardon...but..could I possibly have a word?" She asked. The sooner she got her arm seen to the better. Sod it if the healer was a demon, he was a healer & her arm needed healing. So long as he didn't try to rip her face off, she was happy.

He sat glued as she waved, Then at her request for a word, he had a momentary internal battle, but the nice side won, as it often did.
"I'll be right down." He called out one more time, then ducked into the building. After making his way down the stairs he unlocked the main door, and swung it open. He cast a look to the sky. Early enough... It'd be a few hours before dark. He just had to make sure she was gone by then. He waved her inside, with a sort of confused expression on his face which was really him just trying to fake his usual cheerfulness.
"What is it I can do for you... Miss?" He ended a bit awkwardly. He didn't really know her name, he realized. He'd never asked. This made him rub at the back of his neck. He was nervous and tense... he didn't know what to do or why she was here.

Setara held out her arm & gestured to a large area of nasty bruising that seemed inconsistent with where her arm had been maimed. She looked up at him, a blank expression on her face.
"Its gone an awful color & not only that, but parts of it aren't healing like others." She explained rather curtly, she could see he was uncomfortable & decided that it would be best to get this meeting out of the way as quick as possible.
"I think I may have upset it on the ride back to the camp." Setara added. The vixie on her shoulder glowered at Matta, for no reason other than he didn't like the look of him. Setara didn't seem to notice & looked about as she waited for an answer.
"You asked that I come back & see you if there was anything wrong...so I thought it best to run it by you as I was in the city." She added as yet another afterthought. The vixie eventually tore his beady golden eyes away from matta & began to groom himself airily.
